Thanks growstuff, let's hope no news is good news. Very good discussion on Radio 4 with him and Philip Pullman. Well worth a listen.

I think primary teachers are aware of his wonderful children's poetry.

Didn't know him so I looked him up and tragically he's lost a 18 year old son to meningitis.

You may know We're Going on a Bear Hunt. Basically he's a poetry, language and words man.

That’s sad about his son. Julia Donaldson lost a child also didn’t she? And they’ve brought so much joy to so many people.

Good news to hear Michael Rosen is out of ICU.

I hope Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper will soon follow in his foot steps. He also has been in ICU for 7 or 8 weeks due to Covid.

How awful for their families not even able to visit their loved ones as they fight for their lives

Yes Grannynanny still thinking about that 13 year old boy who tragically died and his family couldn't even visit! Truly heartbreaking

BlueSky yes that story was utterly heartbreaking. It comes to my mind often and reduces me to tears every time.

Missed this entirely. He used to go in to the children’s school to encourage reading and writing poetry. They thought he was wonderful.
