Sainsbury's allows you to buy a card (I assume it's pre-paid) to give to a volunteer so that they can shop or click and collect for you. Would that be of interest to anyone?

Just had a Morrisons delivery, it was like Christmas, bags of stuff to open, we had forgotten what we ordered.A large apple pie, some croissants and bread, and a dozen eggs, hooray.?
Also a few bottles of fresh orange juice.

Thanks Doodle, I've become quite dependent on the hot chocolate. I missed it before complete lockdown last night and couldn't get off to sleep so I had to get one and then fell asleep nicely.
I'm with you there Grammaretto, it's getting to me now and I'd started to recover well from the loss of my friend but I feel tired all the time, guess it's this prison even if it is nice and comfortable.

I am locked down. I don't feel deprived as my garden is nice and secluded. What I like about being confined to the house and garden is I don't feel I ought to dress up and go out anywhere so this gives me plenty time to sit in the sun.

Today I learned about musical roads and how the one in California was paved over because it was constructed wrong, then rebuilt elsewhere, to the same blueprints which got it wrong in the first place.

Gloriously sunny, sat out on the deck for a while and must have fried my brain because later, having made both sugarless custard and a cheese sauce, in separate pans, I scraped mashed banana into the latter rather than the former.
Said a naughty word.

No doubt the same one said in California when they got the 2nd road wrong

alexa your garden sounds nice. I too am not bothered about dressing up so much (not that I ever did really). We sit on our balcony in the evenings and watch people going by doing their best to avoid each other.

Bradfordlass I fear this is getting to you too. Bananas, cheese sauce and custard in the same breath even if not in the same pan. Sounds bad.

I am with you Alexa about the garden. I have been enjoying ours a lot without the usual guilt that normally accompanies it.

DD fell down the stairs on her way to join the family quiz last night so it didn't go ahead. I keep trying to phone but they don't answer.

Grammaretto, that is worrying for you. I hope your daughter is OK. Perhaps, they are just outside and haven't heard the phone. Please come back and let us know all is well.

DD arrived with supplies in including flowers, chocolate, solar lights and some veggie plants, which were not on my list. It felt like Christmas!

Just behind her, appeared DIL, with DGD strapped in the car, (no contact) bringing bread, milk and pop socks! The ones I had were ripped and I couldn't find my stash.
Oh Callistemon, she brought EGGS! I would post some to you, but I can't get out! ?

It lifted my spirits no end seeing my family. We were spread out all over the place. Me at the door, DH in the garage, DD at the end of the drive and DIL, next door in her parent's driveway.
DGD was delighted to see DD, albeit from a distance. She became quite upset, because DD's fiancé wasn't here and kept asking when the bad germs would go away, so that she could come out the car. ? She also keeps asking when my deceased BIL will be coming back, she was very fond of him and he of her.
All I wanted to do was give her a cuddle, it's so hard.

I hope you all have a reasonable day, at least it's very pleasant here in Glasgow.

Thanks for your concern. DD whatsapped from her kitchen to me in mine. She said she was OK just a bit bruised She was mid facepainting the wee DGD. I asked if there was anything I could do to help or send her. She suggested a nanny!
Their new garden isn't safe enough to let the DC out by themselves. It's shared with the next door, it's not fenced or gated securely and there is glass, rusty wire, dogs and even rats etc The joys of the countryside!

That sounds like a lovely gathering Marydoll to keep you going for a while.

I finished cleaning out my linen cupboard (no chocolate at all) and found the newspaper lining was dated 1974.

Have just heard that I’m being given a slip to escape for a couple of hours on Monday! I will receive drugs and a hospital sandwich and DH can drive me the twenty miles each way to hospital. We will see ‘things and stuff’ ! Never thought I’d be excited by a routine trip to hospital in Basingstoke ?

I taught my son to make a Victoria sponge yesterday - came out well but it took hours to clean the kitchen after his unfortunate accident with the icing sugar.

Has anyone else noticed that they look particularly well at the moment? I think it’s because of the gardening in the sun, sensible food and extra sleeping......or perhaps it’s the lack of carousing.....

We were at the hospital 2 weeks ago and DH at the doctor on Monday. It's strange to see the outside world. They look as though they are carrying on as usual. I hope they aren't.

I had a visit from 2 metes today. Shared tea in the sunshine. It's my naughty friend who brought wine and chocolate. I hadn't the heart to say I can't drink wine anymore.

Oh I'm sorry BradfordLass but I've good a very warped sense of humour ? and very naughtily giggled at your banana/custard/cheese sauce hiccup. I giggled because I misread it!! I thought you had written mashed potato and was giggling at the idea that you wanted mashed potato in the custard rather than in the cheese sauce which I found very odd. I reread it and was then quite ashamed of myself. I'm an honest bod" so I had to tell you. It must have been quite upsetting for you, to spoil something you were hoping to enjoy and it's not exactly the best time to waste any foods.
Glad you've had contact with your DD Grammaretto and that she's ok, if a little bruised. She'll recover. I'm often bruised (dratted seizures) but they go eventually ☺️.

I've had an unexpected experience today! I got a volunteer to do my shopping ?, had to take the opportunity today or it would've been another week before the next opportunity. No flour but I've got eggs and I've got bacon?, I've even got tagliatelle! She did us proud ?. My cup runneth over.

Doodle I tried a little but it was totally disgusting. Maybe if I were the sort of person who liked apple with pork, cranberry with turkey etc. banana and cheese wouldn't have been so bad. But I hate sweet & savoury together.

No point in cursing my eyes (they don't pick up colours now), if I'd used my brains and my nose first, I'd have known the difference between white and yellow sauces.

We received a beautiful thank-you card from our 5yr old DGD today. It had taken her 2 days to make.

It is a topsy turvy world with plenty of energetic oldies who would love to be more helpful, stuck inside buried before they're dead and overworked younger ones. One friend is homeschooling her 4 along with everything else and DD hoped it was lunchtime at 9,30 yesterday as the DC were exhausting her.

If the lock-down is extended too long I believe it will be counter productive.

I agree grammaretto. There are many desperate to get out again. DH and I miss our walks but we are ok. I just feel for those whose livelihoods are at risk or are struggling at home with children.
