The Lockdown Gang - not setting foot outside!

Ironing! That reminds me, the ironing pile has been sitting up in the spare bedroom for a week now. I’d forgotten all about it.

Oh well, Ill just finish this cup of tea first........

Feeling anxious today I am not sure why. I have too much time on my hands to worry about small things and turn them into giants. Must get a grip.
Also it feels like Sunday!

My DH is vulnerable recent kidney transplant. My daughter who lives with us is is a key worker but not on frontline covid19 ward. She is on cardiology ward a registrar training to be consultant doing interventional cardiology saving people with heart attacks by unblocking arteries. Her daughter our grandchild age 2 lives with us. I take her to nursery every day of the week. I go out shopping every day but keep my distance. Q for supermarkets. We make sure DH is in another room when DD is home. I am 68 but with no health problems and helping to bring up granddaughter who is very advanced for her age talking lots asking questions nursery said she is pre school talking two years older. Very proud my one grandchild.

dragonfly46 and cake. It certainly does feel like Sunday. It's quiet here too apart from the noisy rooks and the odd boy racer.
I do enjoy the garden but keep seeing work to do out there.
Grany your life sounds very hectic. Lovely to have that little one with you.
We see ours in photos. DD is very good and sends us pictures and videos every day and we talk to the DGC occasionally.
I have just taken a picture of an insect on my hand. Perhaps I can learn some insects while in lock-down.

Grammaretto can I swap my lagoon of fully leaded tonic for your diet? Poor DH is diabetic and since we began shielding three weeks ago the supermarket order has sent litres of the wrong tonic as a substitution. Maybe round here people stockpiled low calorie tonic instead of toilet roll?

He’s manfully drinking what he terms ‘boys beer’ and an occasional small glass of wine while I glue ‘his’ gin.

Did the ironing in the cool this morning and a little light dettoling and then blobbed about in the garden. It seems it’s going to be colder for a few days but sunny so I felt I shouldn’t waste the opportunity.

Now where’s he hidden his gin? ? ?

Oops.....I glug his gin not glue it....Haven’t had a drop today!

Yes, I elbow him out of bed at 3 a.m and instruct him not to return until he has booked a slot and put all my fave things on the list.Never mind spuds or milk, buy gin, wine, ginger biscuits and apple pie.?
He is starting to look old and worn through lack of sleep.

Before any newcomer to GN berates me for cruelty.....he does this because he wants to.His air of triumph when he books a shopping slot has to be seen to be believed.It may well be that’s it a hangover from cave man days, the hunter and the gatherer goes forth to provide....
Very glad he does it, anyway.

I’m still indoors. I have hurt my back (from too much sitting on the sofa), and am starting to get very grumpy.

I had a food delivery this morning, so have just eaten my weekly pizza, and am about to pick up my knitting.

Well at least that will keep your hands off any left over pizza crumbs Doodledog

Sorry about your back btw, I've now installed (curtesy of the tinternet) a spinal support cushion to my sofa, as I was suffering too.
Would something like that help you?

I did suffer badly from empty nest syndrome, but one of the pluses that used to cheer me up, was that I would never have to eat pizza again?

dragonfly I have that it must be Sunday feeling quite a lot. I suppose it’s because so many are working at home. Sorry you are feeling anxious. Susan a rotten way to feel. Is it because of your health issues or just the situation we are in at the moment? (don’t answer that question if it’s private )

I am a big fan of pizza. Perhaps I would be smaller if I didn’t eat it though .

I am on the priority list and we are having difficulty accessing slots?

Doodle it is a bit of both. However, feeling much better today.

I got a slot in the middle of the night for Morrisons ages ago. I seem to be able to get one a week from Sainsbury at the moment though although they only release them a couple of days in advance.

Have been in 'lockdown' since my return from a shopping trip end February feeling shivery .sore throat the usual I experience when starting a cold.Haven't left the house since although cold has cleared and fortunate to have a delivery coming from Tesco. I am lucky to have the beach within walking distance but don't intend going. It is not essential and I have my garden. Stay for me means stay.
