Which one are you?

Accepter, and the “R” number (effective reproduction number relating to virus transmission) is now below 1.0 - because most people have heeded the advice. All I’m being asked to do is stay in my own home. It’s been quite easy all things considered. (Groceries delivered, prescriptions delivered,).
I know others have found it harder and I honestly don’t underestimate their mental health concerns.

I'm a 65 year old accepter and happy to be so.
Also voted both for Brexit and the Conservatives.
I have my 30 year old son and 26 year old Dil living here too, they are also happy accepters and also Brexiteers and vote Conservative. Really can't see what age has to do with anything tbh more a state of mind. I'm disabled but not especially vulnerable but my son appears to be fit and healthy but has an issue with his lungs as he keeps getting Pneumonia but so far undiagnosed as to why. Moneywise I'm helping them out with reduced income.

Accepter but becoming rapidly ungracious in my accepting as the weeks pass. Fed up with my own company and reliance on others to keep me supplied! Judging by the amount of traffic on the A419 yesterday there are thousands of non accepters and those who think its quite fine to go out for a jaunt with the wife & 4 kids. Where exactly are they going? (Daughter reported after a bike ride)

Accepter . After seeing my nephew a Doctor via FaceTime looking so exhausted from a thirteen hour duty on the Covid wards
If you could see the exhaustion and sadness on his face there would be no one against lock down .

Definitely an accepter, the risks are not worth taking!

Acceptor

Having accepted that I don't know when I will next seems family I am absolutely loving it and don't want it to end. Strange as I am a very sociable person.

Rampant anti Brexit, Conservative, utterly loathe Boris and Jeremy, thank heaven's for Keir, where are the Libdems? Macron doing much better job than Boris. Could say something unacceptable about him and ICU and oh no not another Johnson sprog but better not.

Accepter, but finding it very difficult as I suffer from anxiety and this makes it worse.

In this instance I’m am acceptor. I’ve been a nurse for 30 years but find myself at home shielding, feeling quite guilty about it as many of my friends and family are nurses, paramedics, policemen, etc who are in the front (firing) line.
But if we don’t accept our situation and we ignore the rules, those people in the front line are even more at risk.
My OH said that if it was the case that the danger consisted of little green aliens running around biting people’s legs to infect and kill them then everyone would be more than happy to stay at home! Haha!
I try to remind myself that our predicament of staying indoors is nowhere near as bad as the plight of Terry Waite or Anne Frank.
I can often be a resistor, when I feel that policies and rules are badly thought out or downright wrong! But in this case, in my opinion-it’s a no brainer.

Acceptor in general but occasionally a sufferer as there are a couple of very major issues that are on indefinite hold, both of which have life changing implications---though not as life changing as death

Definitely an accepter - we are lucky - house/no mortgage/garden etc. There is no choice if we want to stay alive. I am getting fed up with it now tho - missing friends and family and still finding it hard to believe this is happening.

Accepter. After reading some of the stories of people who have had the virus and been dangerously ill and near death why would I want to be out there with the virus?

Accepter. Physically i am feeling better than i have in years. Mentally not so much! I really need to slow down and do less when normal life starts again. 2 days childminding and 2 days voluntary work was leaving me always exhausted. This last 6 weeks has been a revelation!

I think I was a sufferer at first but actually it is not as bad as I expected and I quickly became an accepter. It's amazing how adaptable most people are, isn't it?

Some of us have to be accepting on behalf of elderly, vulnerable family members for whom we are carers.

Acceptor, however, will be upset if fit over 70's are confined to barracks.

I think there should be another category, for those of us who actually are enjoying this new quieter-paced world!
I’m not just accepting it, I’m loving it! I love the not so busy roads and the lack of traffic noise. I’m content to talk to my family and friends by phone and attend my Pilates class on Zoom. I usually have my grandchildren here every day, so I’m enjoying my tidy house now. I know they’ll be back eventually. I count myself a lucky woman, grateful for all I have. Though having Aspergers has probably a lot to do with my contentment!

I do find it surprising all the same. My most politically left and pro remain friends and family are the most careful because they don't trust government info. They've been in lockdown ahead of the announcement.
