Have you seen the paddy mcguiness video, misty?
He sums it up hilariously, and says exactly that (in a song)
Why do restaurants and takeaways close so early now?
My very law abiding neighbours seem to have changed since the Cummings interview.
One couple headed off to their second home the day after and I have noticed that others are no longer observing the 2 metre advice.
This is a very small community and I am wondering if others are not complying now with the rules.
If this is happening across the country then it is very worrying. I know many people are angry and feel betrayed.

@MissAdventureOooh was that the Bullshit one? Pardon my French?
Yes, that's it.
He hit the nail right on the head; made me laugh, at least.
After the divisiveness of Brexit the country seemed reunited over coronavirus. Cummings has ruined that feeling of everyone pulling together for a change.
Boris backing him without question has made me angry and unsettled.
i think that now we are focusing too much on the cummings debate, if he has done wrong hes not the only one, i ventured into my local mc calls armed with mask and gloves. i was the only one, not many in the shop but no one else were doing as they should , nothing to do with dominic cummings and what about all the traffic etc to get on beaches
Personally, I'd like to focus a whole lot more.
The difference is he had the baying media at his door and nasty threats on his social media while the threat of covid19 hung over his family
Chinese whispers yourself, Peardrop50 (I'm flattered that you copied my phrase
He did not have any 'baying media' at his door at the end of March. There was absolutely no reason for there to be any there as the enormity of his 'herd immunity' preference hadn't really hit home with the public and he wasn't notorious as he is today. There was no story so absolutely no reason for them to be there.
In fact, Islington residents have tweeted that it was as quiet as the grave at that time because everyone was in lockdown. I wish I'd bookmarked some...
A lot of people say would not vote for Boris I thought he would get rid of Dominic Cummings causing a lot of trouble and there is a lot of hurt in this country. But can't help some people doing what they want.
Cant we just get through this pandemic without the drama. Im sticking to all the rules and made lots of sacrifices and no am not annoyed about Mr Cummings. Time later to talk about mistakes not now when we are emerging from lockdown without a vaccine.
I'm seething about Dominic Cummings because he has a sinister hold over our so called government. As for Corona virus they are now trying to do the right thing but they have made some dreadful mistakes costing more lives than need have been lost. No unelected adviser should have such a hold over a prime minister. He has to go. Corona Virus has provided a dsitraction from Brexit which has a far more devastating impact on the long term prospects of our country.
One of my cousins went into hospital in a bad way, Covid free, while there he contracted Covid and sadly passed away. My wife is one of the 1.5 million extra vulnerable so what ever the officials say we will continue to be very careful.
Yes I'm rebelling not against the handling of Covid but because of the impending chaos caused by the incompetent handling of Brexit. After 2016 Vote Leave didn't have a clue of what do and they are still clueless. DC engineered the deceitful Vote Leave campaign and is using his hold over the PM to follow his twisted ideology.
What makes me angry, and I’m not easily roused to that emotion, is their belief that us, the ‘little people’ are not important.
Our opinion doesn’t matter even though recent polls showed 75% think Cummings was wrong, clearly lying and refused to apologise. They are banking on this furore dying down with statements such as ‘draw a line under it’.
It’s the smirk on Boris’ face that says it all.
In a nutshell Furret.
Never mind.
Can we all just sit in the sun and be quiet.
Yes Furret -I feel the same.
And Yes, Miss Adventure, I just want to sit in the sun and be quiet (and peaceful)
I count my blessings, I'm not hungry and because I'm classed as clinically vulnerable I qualify for a priority food delivery. Who knew that something like that could be added to my list of blessings.
Another blessing is that no one in my family or close friendship group is anything other than disappointed in the behaviour of Cummings and Johnson.
As rules change gradually, then there are those who constantly stretch them and do what suits their own ‘thinking’.. This has been from the start and nothing to do with the Cummings effect. I am behaving properly as I always have done. Great to see some shops opening longer, shortening the hours actually made things worse.
This is us?

Cummings has upset one of the biggest and most dangerous constituencies in Britain: grandparents -
My Durham pals tell me the country estate part-owned by Cummings, where he does his partially sighted driving tests, is roughly half way between two famous pubs, the Cock of the North & the Honest Lawyer. I suspect being a Johnson man, he is more for the Cock than the Honest

This is incredibly disturbing footage. Sir Humphry Wakefield stands in his crypt, sipping red wine and discussing genetics.
(By the way, his son-in-law Dominic Cummings has written lots about the “heritability” of intelligence and the future of eugenics.)

Nothing will convince me that Boris is NOT trying to deflect poor public opinion of DomCum by giving us 'plebs' a bit more freedom from lockdown.
NO CHANCE OF THAT, Boris - increasing numbers of people are realising that YOU are trying to protect him for 'whatever personal reason you might have'.
Dangling a 'tasty carrot of so-called freedom' in front of our noses, is NOT GOING TO WORK.
Are you sure his local is not called The Cock and Bull?
.Olliebeak. I agree. This easing of lockdown is a distraction from the Cummings problem.
Scientists are saying that we are no further on than we were 3 weeks ago with the R number around 1. The virus hasn't gone away and they say cases are bound to rise as we all start to go out more.
I think BJ and DC think everyone will forget and move on now we have been allowed out a bit more. We are being treated like children.
I do not believe that restrictions should have been released until the "r" value was around 0.5.
It should be obvious that any relaxation of restrictions will result in a rise in "r".
I believe that relaxation measures should be gradually allowed so that the rise in "r" resulting could be assessed.
Although the government are describing the proposed relaxation as gradual, the "r" value is so close to 1 that we will have to be very lucky to avoid it increasing above 1, which would lead to another rise in the incidence of covid 219.
Because this country was so late in responding to the pandemic, and everything was done too late, we probably need a longer spell in lockdown to drive down the "r" value before we can move on in the way other countries have done.
If we don’t gradually come out of lockdown now we will have no life worth living anyway with a destroyed economy. I know several elderly people that have started going out because they say they have had enough and their life is so miserable that they don’t want to spend their last bit trapped in their homes. One lady said she was taken to a garden centre - with very few shoppers - and all the way said, ‘ look trees, flowers ‘ etc. It’s abnormal for humans to be trapped indoors that obviously some start to rebel BUT in my area, they are still distancing when out.
It obviously been much more difficult for those living in flats with no outside space ad they should be helped to get an hours worth of fresh air and exercise each day. However those with gardens should, as far as possible, stay put.
This could have been avoided if we had had a competent government which issued lock-down instructions weeks earlier - but sadly at that time BJ was stupidly boasting about shaking hands with covid patients.
