Cherry we had our kitchen refitted around 2 years ago. We actually went away for a few days and left the fitters to it. Worked well as it meant they didn’t have to clear up every night. Very pleased with it now and I quite enjoyed deciding where to put everything in the cupboards! Think husband has just about found out where everything goes! Talking of husbands he’s been to hospital today to have a biopsy on a “nasty” on his face. He’s very prone to these appearing and is still at the surgery every day having one dressed.
Love the sound of your Labrador Mammissimo. We had a Schnauzer who ate everything she could find. We lost her over 2 years ago and still miss her.
We too watched the Great Pottery Throwdown Grammaretto but somehow it didn’t do much for me! But as tv is so dire at the moment we will probably carry on with it! And Doodle hope your husband is doing well. Hope you’ve sorted the jigsaw NfkDumpling. My husband loves jigsaws but it’s amazing how often he finishes one but has a piece missing. Cue to me crawling round the floor to find it!
Well everything is a bit boring at the moment. Days seem to consist of meals, reading, doing puzzles and chatting on the phone and texting. Just heard another 1564 people have died. Scary.

Sounds like there were lovely tributes all round paid to your FiL Grammaretto at his funeral. I'm glad that your DS was with you for the virtual wake. It may have been a small send off than what would otherwise have happened and one where you couldn't all embrace one another but it does sound like his funeral was one of warmth and love, which is exactly what any funeral should be.

This wretched tablet, grrrrr ?, is playing up again!! I hope to return...

Jan we had a mini before the beagle.....Abigail Schnauzer lived to be nearly 17 and could have taught Honey a few tricks. Stupidly we left her in the car for ten minutes with a shopping bag containing 12 large Cornish pasties. She had just started her third one when we caught her. Mr M was so incensed that he crumbled the rest of the pasty into her food bowl that night....and offered it again the next morning....the only time in her life that she refused food. Her favourites were oranges and Stilton.

The orchard has been 30 years in the planning because we needed the little paddock for the DD's ponies....and then for Oaty, the rescue donkey. Donkey Oaty passed away a couple of years ago and we were finally able to sort the garden out properly - hence our manic gardening activity last year.

We made the old back of the house the front because we think it originally was.....put in a new driveway, and relaid out all the garden that wraps round the house. Once the fruit trees are in we will be done. ?

Jigsaws I've just been watching an experienced dissectologist saying jigsaw manufacturers often add extra pieces "for fun" especially to the very tricky transparent ones. Beware.

One contributor ordered 20 trees but can't plant them because there are family pets buried on the land - and they can't remember where!

These bodies include 6 dogs, a donkey, a Shetland pony and numerous gerbils, rabbits and cats.
I think they may have to get on a geophys team

The electrician came today and fixed the stove top. I now have 4 elements instead of just one. Magic.

Cherry I have just one sticky key which drives me MAD. It's the backspace and if I want to get rid of one letter, it sometimes races back at a rate of knots and has deleted a paragraph before I've had chance to stop it - which I can only do by bashing at the keyboard like the PG Tips chimp playing the piano.
I took the key off, shaved it because it looked as if it was catching on the housing but it still didn't help. I think now it's a fault in the chip of the motherboard.

I had a sleepless night so have been making up for it with a long lie and woke to a winter wonderland.
Partly sleepless because my phone rang in the middle of the night several times (c3 am) with an unknown number. I didn't answer and eventually blocked the number. I asked the family if it had been them but it wasn't. DS tried the number and someone called Chris had left a message. All rather spooky.

Today MiL is supposed to be having her vaccine but how she is to get there through the snow- maybe a sledge? She has her other DC with her to assist. If Jeeves were around I could have asked him.

We also have 1000s of books. Mostly DH's but a few of mine. DB has promised to come and help me sort if and when he can travel or when he retires.

How fantastic to have an orchard to look forward to Mamissimo . I hope it is very successful.

We once stayed on an organic dairy farm in Wales. The Jersey herd was the farmer's pride and joy. When the animals died, he buried them as no-one wanted the meat!!

We buried our 2 geese in the garden when they died and planted a tree at the site. The only tree available at the time was a Judas tree.

Hello Lobsters, I had to enter the ongoing dissectologists competition with this little number! It's growing at the rate of 2-3 pieces a day (each piece has to be turned over as well when trying to work out if it will fit). DS is getting a lot of abuse from us for his thoughtful present.

It's just soggy and grey where I am.

This has been a Blughday......utterly boring. I'm beginning to crave some excitement because all this blobbing about doesn't do me any good at all. I don't like working in the garden in the rain but I think I may have to soon. Mr M is not enjoying my mood. Tomorrow I will definitely not try to be sunshine and light!

Grammaretto my DGD’s other grandfather died when she was 8 months old. My DIL talks about him a lot and what they did together in those 8 short months. I hope your DGD is reminded of her comments about going up and down on her grandfathers bed and anything else that she might remember.
Excuse a slightly tipsy Doodle. I’ve had a busy day today, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning DH ?, more accounts. Sorting out the rubbish. I decided to have an extra glass and relax. ?

We had a new kitchen installed in our flat about 6 years ago. DH designed the layout and did a good job, we are pleased with it. It’s not huge and I can dry up and stack things in the cupboards by spinning on one foot but it works for us ?
Jan I could be wrong but I think Honey beagle is a beagle not a Labrador.?. I agree our pets are very precious and I still miss ours after not having had a dog for many years. Not allowed now we are living in a flat but we did have lots of fun with them at the time. We have two granddogs now so get our doggy fix when we are allowed to visit,

Mamissimo I got confused for a minute when you said you had a mini before Honey beagle. Firstly I thought mini car, then I thought Minnie as in Nortsat’s cat and finally I caught onto schnauzer (too much vino) ?. Oh I love your doggy tales (or should that be tails). Fancy eating 3 Cornish pasties in one sitting. Oranges and Stilton. Wow that is some combination.

Do you like winter wonderland? I do, but I know many people hate the snow. I like the quiet that the snow brings when it lays thick in the ground. Hope you have enough supplies in and don’t need to venture out in it.

MiL had her vaccine part 1 today. The next one is not until April.
I went for my daily walk but it was deep slush along the river and I felt sorry for all the little cold dogs.

I don't have any pets at all now but 2 of our DS have little puppies and DD is threatening to get one too. They want a deerhound. (like a long coated greyhound)

I have signed up to learn Gaelic! DGD gets taught at school and I thought it would be fun to be able to discuss it with her let her make fun of me and then I'll be able to knit and listen to the Gaelic TV without the subtitles. in my dreams

How are you learning Gaelic, is it an online course or video? That’s something different. Perhaps I should have learnt Danish before my SIL persuaded me to watch 38 episodes of a Danish drama that she had on DVD. ?

Doodle my DB married his Danish gf and has lived there for 40 yrs and I am sorry to say I never learned the language. He did and speaks like a native. It is a very hard language.

The Gaelic will be on zoom and she promises it's sutable for beginners. We have a Gaelic TV channel too and I can always ask my 5yr old DGD for help.

mea culpa Jan t'was I who spoke about Labradors as they're always hungry just like Honey Beagle and the 2 we had on the farm, Jess & Caleb (despite being regularly wormed) were too but as working dogs, were trained not to steal (but it was always in their minds, I could tell!)

Long ago, I had a friend who bought a portable gazebo, the kind which just clicks into place instantly, has spikes for legs and forms a canopy. Under this she did her gardening in the rain moving it on as necessary.

Doodle I'm one of those who likes to look at a winter wonderland but sincerely hopes she never sees a single flake ever again. Snow is within easy reach here but I wouldn't dream of reaching for it.
