I think he looks really poorly...stressed? ...long covid?.....

Alegrias1 Thu 25-Mar-21 11:10:49

Can you point out where I have criticised almost his every move please?

As far as I recall we are still allowed to disagree with how the government of the day is performing.

My actual words: "....I actually think he has done better....."

seamstress Thu 25-Mar-21 11:10:56

Presumably bluesky and other love BJ unconditionally and love his his tendency to cheating and lies too.

EllanVannin Thu 25-Mar-21 11:18:49

There was a pic in a newspaper of him recently----obviously taken off-guard and he looked older than me and I'm over 80 !

I don't think he's the right man for the job, but having said that I do have some sympathy for him. He must feel terrible about having the responsibility of all those deaths on his shoulders. I bet Theresa May is thinking she definitely dodged a bullet by not winning the last leadership vote. Who in their right mind would chose to cope with all this?

trisher Thu 25-Mar-21 11:24:48

Please could we remember all the PPE that wasn't available, the late first lock down, MPs still shaking hands, the ridiculous "Eat Out to Help Out, the useless and diablolically expensive test and trace system, the adviser who broke the rules, the lack of early rules about masks, the shilly-shallying over Christmas and all the other inadequacies this man has presided over. Just because the NHS and the voluntary sector are now running a world beating vaccination system it doesn't mean he's done well. And he would probably have privatised the vaccination programme if he'd known how.

I really don't get this "could you do better" thing.

I'm not pretending I could do better. Are we not allowed to say when someone is terrible at their job, especially as they are meant to be representing us?

Anecdote time: Our school orchestra were terrible. Watching them one time, a couple of us said to each other, oh dear, that was terrible. Never mind, they're doing their best. Someone then said, you can't say that, you can't do better. Yeah, but I know better than to take up the euphonium and try to play it in front of people.

JaneJudge Thu 25-Mar-21 11:37:23

He should just take it on the chin

EllanVannin Thu 25-Mar-21 11:40:41

I wouldn't have his job for a gold clock. There's never ever pleasing everyone in any situation, least of all the one that we're ALL in at present.

Kestrel Thu 25-Mar-21 11:52:50

I agree trisher - he has a history of getting away with things. Think he's met his match with Carrie tho smile

Perhaps this accounts for Johnson bumbling, hesitating, getting his facts wrong , inability to answer questions directly, or is that how he is usually?

I think that's his usual way of presenting himself - as a charming bumbler.

People are hanging onto his answers to try and work out what's going to happen with lockdown, so he really can't afford to say anything he doesn't mean at the moment.

He's had a divorce, a severe dose of Covid and a new baby to cope with, and is planning a wedding. That's quite a lot to be dealing with in addition to coping with a pandemic.

I don't feel much sympathy for him, though - he joined with others to push Theresa May out of office because he wanted to be PM, but, as often happens, it turned out to be a poisoned chalice. I don't think being PM is ever an easy job.

MaizieD Thu 25-Mar-21 14:29:35

But this is all self inflicted. Why on earth should we feel sorry for him for being utterly stupid?

I think it's karma and he deserves everything he gets...

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Mar-21 14:33:48

I would have more sympathy for him if he wasn’t such a charlatan, liar and all round useless leader.

He’s planning a wedding ??? Seriously ? How much do you think he will be involved in the planning?

What date are we getting married Carrie ?
What shall I wear Carrie ?
What is the dog wearing ?
Are we inviting Dom ?

suziewoozie Thu 25-Mar-21 15:50:44

He doesn’t even plan what he’s having for breakfast .

vegansrock Thu 25-Mar-21 16:45:05

Do you really think he’s up in the night changing nappies?

suziewoozie Thu 25-Mar-21 17:02:22

I thought Carries mum had moved into help?

Oldbat1 Thu 25-Mar-21 17:09:49

trisher agree with you totally.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Mar-21 17:52:15

This - never forget his agenda

Deedaa Thu 25-Mar-21 17:57:52

Boris moved heaven and earth over the last four years to become PM. He thought he would be the knight in shining armour presiding over "The easiest deal in history". Well bad luck Boris none of it has lived up to your expectations and you've had the pandemic as well. Instead of seeing a knight in armour we now see a scruffy middle aged man who can hardly string a coherent sentence together.

Aldom Thu 25-Mar-21 19:19:59

LauraNorder Excellent post. Thank you for your kind words of support for the PM.

I’ve thought about whether I should reply to the comments made regards my now deleted post. First, it was made with a light hearted, tongue in cheek intention. I intended no offence to GN members. As for offending Mr Johnson, I doubt he’d be bothered. What I would say though is that, if we’re climbing on high horses, I am offended by people on here saying how sorry they feel for him. He’s a proven liar. A charlatan who has presided over one of the highest death rates in the world. He’s overseen spending of billions of pounds of our money on contracts for his mates. He misleads parliament without blinking. I could go on. He is by far and away the worst PM we have ever had. I remember him running away to hide when the Brexit vote came in. He didn’t want to win. Didn’t expect it. Brexit was just a joke to him. Everything is. I help at a food bank and the numbers needing help increase weekly. It’s heartbreaking. Our country is in crisis and we have this buffoon who thought it would be a laugh to be PM leading us. Now that is offensive. Enough said

Oldbat1 Thu 25-Mar-21 21:53:56

Absolutely. It is unbelievable the amount he gets away with. I could give a list but would wear my finger out. I thought Mrs May was appalling, but B Johnson takes the prize for worst PM ever. And yes - He doesn’t look well. Resignation in the autumn and a quick ennoblement just in time for Carrie to be Lady Johnson.
