This was the headlines on the online edition of The Mail this evening. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Imagine sitting on a plane just before take off and the pilot after doing his usual welcome to flight...... says “ and the best of luck”. Don’t think you’d be filled with confidence. Sorry Boris but we are relying on you, the Goverment and the top medical and scientific advisers based on multitudes of statistics to have made the best decisions to ensure the.safety of the Nation. Now we’re depending on luck.? Please excuse me while I try to find my St Christopher and lucky four leaf clover. It beggars belief!

This thread has really cheered me up after trying to read the 27 pages about Megan and Harry.

Don’t bother. Here’s a summary: harry Meghan Diana = bad
Queen Anne Harley camilla etc etc etc =good.
Meghan = specially bad

It doesn't appear to do him any harm though.

He does indeed waffle and bumble but people still appear to like him

He's doing rather well in the polls when really he shouldn't be

And who is Harley, Lucca?

Having read the posts from our virtual friends in France and other EU countries it seems that they are all convinced their governments have done everything wrong in this crisis. So ‘Boris bashing’ or its equivalent is a Europe wide sport.
The only ‘luck’ we need is for people to stop trying to find a way round the rules, because they are somehow ‘different’ to everyone else.

Different to, or different from.
Now there’s another thread!

as if he's sending us off to battle
Well it is not over is it. We have to look after our own health and still follow the advice.

I'm sure that if he was called John or Ian etc instead of Boris he wouldn't get so much stick.

He’s doing well in the polls for a variety of reasons the main one of which is the vaccine rollout. Other reasons include people’s short memories and a right wing press.

Lemsip he has loads of names to choose from (as well as the derogatory ones on here). He could have chosen Alexander instead of Boris. If his popularity is increasing it is partially due to Starmer’s popularity decreasing as there are problems within the Labour Party.

DM and much of the press like to sensationalise. Nicola Sturgeon was reported to “savage” Alex Salmond. So much rage and fury in the headlines until you read the full report and wonder what it was all about.

Boris puts on an act. He's a very intelligent and astute man. He knows exactly what he's doing but his bumbling caricature seems to make people willing to protect him as in 'he's doing his best'. No he isn't. He's doing what he wants to do regardless of how it affects us.

Yes, Boris is definitely on a fitness and sport drive if this afternoon's briefing is anything to go by!
That's a good thing, so wishing the best of luck was probably appropriate.

Or costs us.

Like £160k to one of his mistresses. Which of course he lied about and people seemed willing to believe.
