chrissy08, So children 'don't spread the virus & rarely get it'. Since my great grandson returned to school in August (Scotland), Covid ran rampant through his schoolmates. He caught it and transmitted it to both his parents - albeit double vaxed. A number of other families have been similarly affected, so don't tell me that children do not spread Covid.

I reckon chrissy08 is one of the leaflet women outside my youngests school

Well DD has just had a test and trace call and he said it is "rife in schools". But what would he know. ?

I was due to meet a friend today. Had a phone call to offer me the chance to cancel. Child in primary school had 8 in their class with it. I'm extremely covid vulnerable so I had to decline even though I'm double jabbed.

The vaccines are working so let's get back to normal, and no more kids being sent home from school. They can't get that time back and there must be NO more lockdowns or restrictions. The most important thing now? The economy! We will have to live with Covid. People need to pay their bills

Well, one of our local schools is struggling with keeping children at school because so many teachers have covid.

Talking to my son in NSW, Australia, it seems their government is very much seeing this as a virus of the unvaccinated. Their unlock points are when they reach certain percentages of double vaccinated and those who are not vaccinated will not be able to unlock. Children over 12 are also being vaccinated.

I have to say I wish our government had started out this way. It is so much easier to relax from firm rules than to bring in more rules later (and often).

I'm not a mask hater or COVID denier.

But who, exactly, is Dr Bari?

One of the things she recommends is that we all wear a respirator. She also says that one of the effects of the virus is left bodies. (?)

These are not the words of a person I am likely to take much notice of.

Hmm - I wonder where we are going too - this is an extract from an estimate of cases in a town in Northwest England - this seems to suggest more cases now than 9 months ago.

Case numbers published by Gov.UK are averaging around 30,000 daily - and the stats don't tell us how poorly people may be at home, and how many are off work either ill or isolating.

So, will mask wearing return as a legal requirement for confined indoor spaces - or is this just the government driving herd immunity without anyone paying attention?

Probably American. But if what she lists is coming from research (and I have to say that I saw a lot of research based articles last year which detailed many of these effects) then I'm happy to go with it.

I didn't say that everyone is a mask hater or covid denier. I',m just hugely concerned at the lack of interest in the danger to children of infection. I think we've a big public health problem building for the future.

chrissy08 what nonsense. I'm a mask wearer and haven't even had a cold or flu since wearing one so they must help to keep germs and viruses at bay. Each to their own, but I'm proud to wear my mask and will keep doing so.

Masks have no use other than to make people sick. If you are that concerned about people breathing then wear a surgical grade mask for yourself & respect others that want to breathe normally.

No reason to think she knows what she's talking about either.

Her list is sourced from unreferenced studies which she tells us are of mixed sample size and some of which do not even apply to children. She is not the researcher.

One of her comments: The virus infected the immune cells that were supposed to eat it and kill it.

Scary lists of outcomes tweeted by random people with no credentials is not right, IMHO. You and I usually agree on things but this is bordering on scaremongering.

I think you'll find a child with covid IS infectious chrissy. If you think that is labelling, what would YOU call a child with covid?

Got to admire someone who goes against all medical and scientific evidence and STILL thinks they're right!

I agree with Alegrias1 I cannot take Noor Bari seriously. I want people to be encouraged to get vaccinated as much as the next person, but I fear 'gilding the lily' with some of the nonsense she says, could well have the opposite effect.

here in Cornwall all the schools are rife with covid, most of us have G C with covid
