Booster vaccination

Will be six months on Sunday since I had my second Covid vaccination. I have not been invited for the booster. I recognize there will be lots of people in the same situation but wondered if any GN s have any advise as to how a booster can be speeded up. I have been on NHS website and was informed I was not eligible at this time for the booster - I am 72 and feeling anxious now.

They even give the booster with the flu jab at the same time, luckily here we have the hub for one and GP for the other so you can space them a up a little. I wouldn’t have been too keen on having them together, at least you know which one you are reacting to.

I have never had a reaction to any vaccine apart from a slightly sore arm. I had my flu vaccination on Monday and spent Monday night awake with stomach cramps and nausea until finally was violently sick at 5am. I am very rarely sick. Feeling very fragile all morning but fine after a couple of hours sleep. I had a Covid booster the week before with no problems. There doesn't seem to be any reference to this on any websites though I can't think of any other reason for it.

Yes Forsythia for most people it seems to be a 48hrs reaction.

Today’s update which I hope others will be finding helpful. Last night I went to bed early. Woke in night shivering, shaking and aching. Took more pills, slept through until morning. Today back to normal apart from low energy. To recap, I had mine on Wednesday.

Hope everyone is fine and that those who have had a reaction of any sort feel better soon.

Thank you. I feel very hot, even fully dressed with a blanket over me and in front on our log burner! I’ve done nothing today which is a pain as I had a list of jobs I wanted to tackle.
I’m dosing up on paracetamol too and I hope I will also feel better shortly. I had Pfizer, previously Astra Zeneca which wasn’t too bad. I was right as rain yesterday ?

Hi. I had the Moderna Tuesday having had Astra Zeneca previously. Felt okay until Wednesday lunch time came over very hot whilst out shopping, thought I’d better get home, then spent the rest of the day on the sofa freezing cold. Much better today.

I woke in the night on Weds absolutely freezing cold, then later on I was boiling hot. I felt like a wet dishcloth all day yesterday and fell asleep twice. Today I seem to have been reset to normal, so hopefully, I’m done and dusted for a while now. smile

I had my booster yesterday and feel grateful to have had it but have a sore arm and feel a bit rough this morning but have taken 2 paracetamol and am sure I will feel ok this afternoon .

Ailidh Thu 18-Nov-21 11:23:27

Had mine this morning at nine.
Had a hot white chocolate with cream and a buttered scone to ward off side effects.
So far, so good.

Forsythia 48hrs for me now and I’m (almost) back to normal. Yesterday I took paracetamol every 4 hrs and took it easy. Hopefully it’ll clear pretty soon.

Update on last nights post…..DH is fine. I’m in bed with a temperature and not feeling 100%. Dosed up, napping in and off. Could be a coincidence but I don’t think so.

Booster for both of us today. Done at a local pharmacy, minimal queues and quick and easy. So far, we both feel ok but see how we are tomorrow.

BlueSky Wed 17-Nov-21 12:22:56

OK felt a bit weird during the night and this morning, as if I was going to come down with something. Hopefully it’ll all clear after the first 48 hrs.

Flu and booster jabs for me today, at last. The flu arm is sore, the other is ok. No other side effects so far.

BlueSky Tue 16-Nov-21 19:14:00

I had my booster Pfizer this morning, all well organised and quick. So far so good, will see tonight and tomorrow.

marymary62 Tue 16-Nov-21 09:51:41

Just to report I had my Pfizer booster on Friday - no problems at all, arm less sore than with Flu vacc. I’m happy .

Aveline Sun 14-Nov-21 07:19:52

We had Moderna.

Margiknot Sat 13-Nov-21 21:05:00

I heard ( from the Zoe app and other sources) almost all boosters will be Pfizer - a few will be half dose Moderna. Everyone I know has had Pfizer as their booster.

marymary62 Sat 13-Nov-21 21:01:27

As others have said boosters are Pfizer or Moderna regardless of first dose- not sure why . I had mine yesterday - no impact whatsoever so far and my arm is a lot less sore than with the flu jab . Very grateful to have this extra protection. .

I see Pfizer seems to be the booster. We had AZ before. Just curious doesn’t matter which. Thanks!

Maggiemaybe Sat 13-Nov-21 16:23:21

We had AZ for the first two and a Pfizer booster.

maddyone Sat 13-Nov-21 15:25:33

We both have had three doses of Pfizer.

Jaxjacky Sat 13-Nov-21 15:22:59

The majority of booster doses are Pfizer or Moderna.

Mollygo Sat 13-Nov-21 15:08:19

They get Pfizer. My sister and BIL had their boosters yesterday and that’s their 3rd Pfizer. We had AZ then Pfizer booster.
