Do you think his exemption from covid vaccination is a bit odd? I understand Australians are not happy about letting him into the country and the likelihood is that he will be booed when he plays according to Andrew Castle.

maddyone Mon 10-Jan-22 11:04:31

Djokovic that is.

Deedaa Mon 10-Jan-22 11:09:58

How typical that Frogface Farage who so admires Australia's control of its borders should now be protesting about Australia's control of its borders.

Josieann Mon 10-Jan-22 11:16:44

If Farage is Frogface then Djokovic is Toadface Deeda.

JenniferEccles Mon 10-Jan-22 11:43:51

Yes I was also surprised to hear that Farage was supporting Djokovic.
I would have thought he would have been all in favour of him being kicked out.
Awaiting news from the immigration officer.
A decision was due within about four hours I understand.

So the breaking news is that he has won his battle to stay in Australia. hmm
All I can say to Grans who have not seen their children or grandchildren for over two years, is you’d better brush up your tennis as that seems to be the way in . ?

Certainly my cricket skills might have been needed recently grin

Maw you can get in anyway if you are the parent of an Aussie citizen, which my son now is.
I play tennis plus am fully vaccinated….?

We could go too but do we want to sit on planes for 24 hours?

I wouldn't be fit for a game of tennis after that long.

Has he GG13? Where did you see that?

It’s on GMB, he has four hours to appeal.

Ironically he is not allowed into his Solicitor’s office as they have a no jab no admittance policy…

Just wondering how he's going to get anything to eat - no jab no admittance to restaurants or even takeaways!
Perhaps one of his aides has been vaccinated and can go and pick up his dinner.

Mollygo Mon 10-Jan-22 13:49:00

The latest is that he wants to stay in Oz and compete. Howver, according to the news, his parents are claiming he was tortured.
Is this in prep for suing the OZ government for ill- treatment?

JenniferEccles Mon 10-Jan-22 14:00:51

We can see where he gets his drama queen attitude from.

Juicywords Mon 10-Jan-22 14:30:00

Novax will bring a book out next entitled “My Truth”

Oh, fgs.

Perhaps his dinner wasn't gf - vital if he is coeliac but apparently he isn't.

Lucca

Well if you’re in Sydney when I am we could have a game !!

We won’t be unfortunately because DD is coming here for a wedding in May?
Next year?

He shouldn't be allowed to compete IMO. Was it last year that he organised a tournament and some of those attending had/caught Covid?

Like many on GN, we have a son in Aus who we haven't been able to see for more than 2 years. Double jabbed and had the booster, we've no idea when we'll be able to see him again.

Is that because your son hasn’t taken up permanent residential status Smileless? I’m sure Lucca is able to be visiting Oz later this year because of that.

I think citizenship but I may be wrong.

Do you have Australian grandchildren?

Mollygo Mon 10-Jan-22 20:40:41

Perhaps they should let him play. It makes a mockery of the Australian Government. Welcome to our world.

I’ve see it reported today that Djokovic lied on his immigration forms. He apparently said he hadn’t travelled anywhere outside of Serbia in the fortnight before travelling to Australia, but apparently he did. He travelled to Spain.
I think the Australian government will not do anything else now to prevent Djokovic playing or to deport him. But they should!

Rosie51 Tue 11-Jan-22 10:46:01

Watching that skysports clip, can anyone doubt the arrogance of that whole family? They know he's cheated the admittance rules and they don't care. I don't for one minute believe he's had Covid. If they insist he has what on earth was he doing being photographed at that event the very next day after his positive result? Surely that requires an explanation, not 'this conference is adjourned' accompanied by a smirk?

Sparklefizz Tue 11-Jan-22 10:56:38

Thanks for reposting the link Kali.
What an arrogant family.

Smileless2012 Tue 11-Jan-22 12:28:11

He now has citizenship Urmstongran and Calistemon, is that the same thing?

No, no GC Calistemon he divorced 3 years ago and is still single.
