Covid/Flu vaccinations

Already done mine with Boots a couple of weeks ago.

No reason to clog up the GP surgery with flu jabs when they could be seeing patients with real issues.

Should add this was related to flu jabs only, not Covid ones. Not sure if I will qualify for one this autumn.

I booked my flu jab and was told depending on supply I could have my Covid jad at the same time. I hope this will be the case.

The flu,Covid, pneumonia and shingle sessions are on Saturdays at our surgery and don’t affect the normal appointment times.
All booked in here for October.
It runs like clockwork normally 👍

I’ve just had a text from my surgery asking us to book a slot with them and not a pharmacy as it is an income generator for them.

But GP’s are quite keen to send you to the pharmacy for issues that don’t generate income it seems.

I started using Boots for flu jabs long before Covid as I couldn’t get to the walk through clinic on a Saturday morning.

I have continued as I do not want to have flu & Covid jabs at the same time.

Just flu for me & no covid jab 😩

My surgery let us down badly last year. We had to have flu done in local town and covid done in another town 30miles away. Im not using the surgery and flu is booked at boots.

My GP Surgery invited me in for both jabs as I am on the At risk group plus it is only a short walk from my home. Sorry you think I am clogging up stopping people with real issues. What do you class as having real issues? Is brain, spine and lung cancer enough!

GPs here don't do immunisations any more, so we have to go 15 miles. It's always very efficient though. No doubt our invitations will come in due course, and we will both be happy and grateful to have both at the same time as before.

Myself and DH were messaged yesterday with an appointment date and time for flu and covid jabs at a vaccination centre near us, rather than our GP practice. This has been normal for the past few years.

Covid vaccinations are due to start between 3 October and 20 December this year for over 64s, bookable from 23 September. You don’t have to wait for your GP to contact you and they can be booked either through the NHS app, GP, pharmacies, drop in clinics or by calling 119.

So once again, it's all about money. I wondered why we are suddenly being offered all these vaccinations.

Had my dual injections on Monday. Felt awful Tuesday and Wednesday shivers, fevers, headache and very tired. Back to normal Thursday. But my arm is very swollen, red, hot and itchy. The redness is spreading downwards and outwards.....is this a normal reaction to covid jab does anyone know???

Go back to your GP, it could be cellulitis and should have cleared up by now too.

I had the double dose and have to say have felt really exhausted during this past week, but no other symptoms except soreness for a few days.

My Flu and Covid jabs are booked at the local pharmacy, 1 week apart. ( I didn't want them at the same time )

Hopefully I won't have a reaction, if previous years are to go by.

I had the two together eight days ago and have only just started to feel normal after a violent reaction to one of them. Suspect I was incubating something and the timing was just all wrong but perhaps won’t have the two together next time.

'Had both jabs on Thursday, one in each arm, and last night kept waking with the discomfort of laying on either side; arms feel swollen and sore. Also feel rather hot and feverish, but the advice online is that this is normal. Have had all jabs previously, and sometimes had a sore arm, but never this bad, although the same advice source says that having both jabs doesn't cause any more dramatic effects than having one. Hmm...not so sure.

I had my Covid jab yesterday at my local pharmacy. I am fine and will be returning next week for my flu jab.

My GP surgery has not been able to see me as a patient since the start of Covid so I would prefer extra money to go to the pharmacy which has a really good system up and running.

I had my covid and shingles jabs yesterday.

An elderly relative is having the cov id jab in a week's time. But it is already spreading fast around the area.

No idea about his flu jab.
