It began as group support during difficult times and although Covid has faded a little, the friendship has endured and become stronger.
Still here for anyone to join a non-judgemental, caring thread during the often challenging time in life.
I'm a newbie - found friends after lockdown. Grateful to them for being so warm.
I think you were supposed to send a runner.

Yesterday, first day home, I was feeling a bit sad looking at the blooms that had gone over and the weedy chaos here. Mr Spaghetti had gone for milk and the front of the house was looking so dejected. It was all rather grim.
The row of lilies in pots did have some stunning blooms by way of consolation but so many new ones that we haven't got to see this time - and some fancy gladioli which were new to us.
Here's some pics of the surviving plants.
What a fabulous display of flowers NotSpag. You could open it to the public. Perhaps you do. 😃
Thank you... this is the point really.
I was feeling really sorry for myself and just couldn't see the beauty beyond the weeds.
I was fed up that MrS had left me to look at the garden on my miserable own (and gone off to get milk) (!).
I was struggling to see the beauty of what had survived and then a van pulled up with this beautiful arrangement with a "Welcome Home" message from our children.
How selfish I felt - and i wept buckets of gratitude - I have a husband who loves me, who although exhausted, took himself off "hunter gathering" milk and basics - and a garden that has survived at least in parts inspite of weeds abd drought - and i have the most loving adult children who truly care for us - and send us something of beauty to focus our minds out of the chaos.
Sometimes I just need to remember what we have. ❤️
And no.
The garden is way too messy to show anyone! Lol.
Evening all. Today would have been/or is our 55the wedding anniversary. Been to the hospice to spend some quiet time looking out over the lake. Came home and am having a large glass of one of our favorite wines.

Bless you Doodle. I feel for you, I really do. It would have been awful coming home to an empty house.
You were lucky to have 55 years. We managed 57 before my husband died. It’s hard coping with the inevitable.
Perhaps ‘happy anniversary’ is a step too far to wish you, but I think ‘happy anniversary memories’ fits the bill.
Happy anniversary Doodle dear .
I am glad you could go to your comforting place and enjoy your favourite 🍷
I'm about to open a fizzy pinot grigio, left from the party.
My friends are coming to supper.
Crosstitchfan and Grammaretto You both have been through this so know what it’s like. So nice of you to send good wishes. Thank you
Grammaretto any news on a new lodger yet? Have a nice evening with your friends.
Doodle - Happy Memories seems fitting. 🙏
Thinking of you today.

No button in my box either but I see quite a few people make and sell copies of vintage button boots in UK, so maybe if you give them the size, that can help? Ask a cobbler.
Yes Doodle we had a very nice lunch indeed. Cottage Pie and veg and then something listed as "Jam Rolly Polly"
My preference, if someone is going to give me a fairly solid pud like that, is to have it with a lavish helping of custard but we had just 1 teaspoon of it on the side of the dish.
Oh Kaimoana - I think you need a custard lake with traditional pudding!
Ditto Spotted Dick can one say that these days?🤔 NS
Always referred to as Sinkers , they were pretty much a staple in our house growing up. Dedicated tea towel and set-aside nappy pins, boiled ad infin in a special huge saucepan.
To Mr. I, his introduction to said puddings and his life-time commitment to his MIL's Sinkers was legendary.
Truth to tell, I think she was secretly extremely flattered at the recognition.
Hugs for yesterday, Doodle 💐
Spotted dick, jam roly poly alias dead baby's legs, and fly cemetery fruit slice were school dinner basics with lashings of sweet custard.
Not tasted these delicious puds in years. 😋
Two things to celebrate today.
First the oak tree I planted 45 years ago from an acorn has produced its very first acorns!
The second is that Sparky has repaired the battery lawn mower when no-one else could. He's a clever lad.
Notspaghetti thank you. I try to keep my happy memories close.
Kaimoana Im with you. Any hot pudding needs to be an island in a sea of custard.
Thanks Ixion i loved spotted dick and jam roll poly. In fact anything with custard goes down well. Sticky toffee pudding. Is another. I would love one of those traditional puds with loads of custard.
Grammaretto wonderful news about the tree. 45 years ago, that’s amazing. Really exciting. How big is the tree now?
Well done Sparky.
Jigsawing for me today. Quiet day. Full on day at church tomorrow
I'm sending you a big warn cwtch for yesterday Doodle X
Aw bless you Cherry that’s so nice. Thank you. Hope you are ok. We miss you💕💕
As far as I can tell, the Dick in Spotted comes from an Old English word, possibly dialect, interchangeable with 'dog' (from dough), Spotted Dog.
Various kinds of puds were known as Treacle Dick, Jam Dick etc., but probably very localised. I've never heard of either in West Yorkshire but if they were used in, say, Sussex, only the locals would know it.
Fly Cemeteries were Eccles Cakes when I was a kid - didn't put me off them.
They used to be made with butter - no longer alas.
Two good hits there Grammaretto Now don't let your refurbished lawn mower run away with you and knock down the Oak Tree.
At school a pupil announced that her pudding was ‘all Dick and no Spot’!
Evening all. If been in. Hitch most of the day and on my feet. I am too rioted to write, forgive me. It’s been a good day. So many people in church and the buffet after went well. Clearing up took a while and I can hardly keep my eyes open now.catch up tomorrow. Sleep well xx
Church not hitch. Told you I was tired 🤣
