Flat boots for me too, sadly haven’t been able to wear even low heels for quite a while.
NN hope you get home safely. I’m getting quite chilly now in the evenings.
Grammaretto glad you had a nice meal yesterday as well. It’s nice to eat out in occasions.
Been a long day today. Helping friend with tidying and up and down stairs a lot, very tired now so off to bed.
Sit fit in the morning.

Grammaretto Tue 20-Oct-26 00:49:33

Not just flat shoes but non slip soles 😉
I have a couple of tiny heels, including the blue suede boots, but most are very sensible.

I walked for m i l e s around Edinburgh yesterday with the U3A walking group and now know where all the war memorials are and there are many. Here is the only statue of Abraham Lincoln outside America. It commemorates Scottish soldiers who died fighting on the Unionist side in the civil war.

I was very tired and went to bed about 7 pm.
🥱💤
I wonder how Cherry is too.

I hope you are still enjoying your cruise NN

Glad you had a good time Grmmaretto I’ve just got in and need food and wine. Been at AGM for our apartments. Went on a long time. Take care all

ixion Tue 20-Oct-26 21:59:24

That sounds such a fascinating walk, Grammaretto, one I'd love to have done.

I hope your AGM went well Doodle, it is with Management? Hopefully no nasty surprises, rather sweetness and light.

Not a lot of the latter here tonight☹️. I am tired after two outings and lots of walking so am looking forward to a hot bath and a warm bed.
When I'm tired, I am, apparently, irritable.
Moi? 🤔

Cherry says she thinks about you every day, cares about you and sends ❤️

ixion Tue 20-Oct-26 22:03:21

PS - are you safely home, NN?
From one storm, prepare for the UK one, Storm Austen incoming!

NfkDumpling Wed 21-Oct-26 19:50:17

Hello Everyone

I just wrote a long post, caught it with my finger in an accidental sideways swipe and it vanished! I'm told computers don't actually eat stuff, it's all still there somewhere - so where is it?

Suffice to say, I'm so pleased that Jan's lovely man is getting better, sorry that Grammaretto's prospective house isn't prospective anymore - but pleased there may be a better one instead - with clucky hens? And hopeful that NN gets home before the storm strikes.

And I have been away in my Camperbubble with my friend in hers. And Kira too. Northern Ireland is incredibly beautiful and full of friendly people who loved dogs (although the restrictions are stricter!) We went on the overnight ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast and I was really nervous about it with how Kira would cope. But she was amazing. Stena has pet cabins on that route. No carpets and easy clean with poo bags and water bowls provided. Very comfortable. There's even an area of the back deck for outside space. Eventually she had to give in and use it. Mop and bucket and poo bins provided! I'd heard that Ireland was beautiful and it really is. I now have the courage to go back again - although I'll have to save up first for that ferry.

NfkDumpling Wed 21-Oct-26 20:13:41

Kira wasn't too impressed with the open deck even if it was artistically painted.

NfkDumpling Gosh your trip to Ireland sounds amazing. Many many many years agowhen I was around 8 I imagine my mother took me to Belfast to stay with a friend and her husband. We too went on the overnight ferry to Belfast. It was a real quite scary adventure for a timid 8 year old!
In those days the Orange men used to march through the streets of Belfast - no idea why!
We were taken around Northern Ireland quite a lot and went to the Giants Causeway for a picnic! Somehow we gained a vicar on this trip - no idea where he came from - and my abiding memory is of us all sitting on the rocks singing a hymn before we had lunch!
I have been back to Ireland since and yes it certainly is very beautiful.
Today in Norfolk it rained and rained and still rained! Very probably is still raining!! Theo has not been a happy puss cat and kept rushing out of the door for a few minutes then rushing back inside! Tomorrow is alledgedly supposed to be a completely different day with sunshine and NO rain!
If anyone is in contact with Cherry please say hello and send love from me.

ixion I’ve gone back on the board for the second time. Didn’t really want to but I want to understand where our money is being spent. It wasn’t a bad evening thank you.
Wow NFK you and the camper bubble certainly get around. Glad you and Kira enjoyed yourselves.
Jan tell Theo he’s not on his own. I don’t like all this rain either.
Grammaretto did I read you’ve got the imminent arrival of another helper? Hope so. Must be quiet since your lodgers moved out.

NotSpaghetti Wed 21-Oct-26 22:12:12

Not much news here... trailed about a bit looking for an inexpensive A3 photo/ picture frame for a print my daughter bought me in Anglesey last week.
It's not something I'd have chosen but the particular area is improving to me so I can see why.
I wish I'd een a bit more enthusiastic though.. 😕 - unfortunately my mind sprang to the dozens of paintings and prints that I took down 18 months or more ago in order to decorate - and have barely missed.
😬

Anyway it will work in the loo downstairs if I find a black frame...
She is very kind and always thinking of others!

Grammaretto Thu 22-Oct-26 01:19:34

Kira is very beautiful NfkD . I don't blame her for showing caution. I would too if I was expected to run about on a wobbly bright blue surface!

I've been over on that ferry a couple of times except from Cairnryan to Belfast.

I do have a Helper arriving tomorrow Doodle. ★Well spotted. She's a trained gardener but likes decorating as well.

NfkDumpling Thu 22-Oct-26 09:25:21

I don't blame your Theo for sulking Jan. It is very soggy out there! And I am very intrigued as to how one acquires a random vicar. You must have had interesting parents. The Giants Causeway now has a fantastic visitors centre and you can still walk wherever you want and wander all over the stones - I didn't as it was damp and windy and I wasn't feeling agile enough. And it's National Trust. Being a member certainly saved a lot of entry fees.

I had intended to use the Cairnryan route Grammaretto, but all dogs have to be in their pet carrier for the whole trip and Camper bubble really doesn't have the storage space for one the rest of the time. Perhaps if I could find an inflatable one. Your new helper sound very useful. If she runs out of things to do, perhaps she'd like a holiday in Norfolk? wink

Being on the Board must be a bit challenging Doodle when you live on the premises. You must be perhaps rather too accessible? Do you have to sneak out to buy milk at silly times to avoid being accosted?

I do like nice pictures in downstairs loos NotSpag. A friend has old family photos in hers. All these people watching!

Please send Cherry my love too ixion. Miss her.

NotSpaghetti Thu 22-Oct-26 11:05:44

Where is my enormous post??
😱

NotSpaghetti Thu 22-Oct-26 11:06:39

Just spent ages on it.
Harrumph!
Will try to come back later.
Love to you all, meanwhile!

Doodle Thu 22-Oct-26 21:20:44

Notspaghetti do you have the Range near you? They do lots of frames. Nice of her to think of you but I know what you mean. I have limited shelving and flat surfaces and people keep buying me vases and ornaments and I’ve not where to put them. Shouldn’t be ungrateful though. (Me that is not you)
Grammaretto hope your helper is good. Where is she from?
NFK Dh and I went to the Giants Causeway and DH was very disappointed. He was a keen photographer and had seen other glorious pictures of the stones. Trouble was you couldn’t see the stones for the number of tourists clambering over them. Maybe we got a bad day but there were hundreds of people there climbing all over them. I think the really good views would be Ariel shots.
I’ve been on the board before so I know what it’s like. We have a management company to report faults to and they arrange for someone to fix things. Yes you do get asked questions but o know my neighbours well and it’s ok.
Yes ixion please pass on our love to Cherry if you are in contact. We miss her.
