Venice and the river Po, a virtual cruise

I'd like to eat me picnic before I get laid to rest, if it's all the same to you.
Me and my daughter could never resist a graveyard.
We spent many an hour wandering around them.

So sorry Miss Adventure, hope you feel better soon. Meanwhile would you like a couple of hunky matelots to assist you on any shore trips?
I did think when I was there that it would be a very peaceful place to be buried in. The Venetians visit on November 1st and 2nd, lay flowers and picnic.

Ooh I like a graveyard myself.
The way I feel, I wonder if it'll be worth me going back to the cruise!

Just thought I would drop in and make a suggestion- I'm a bit weird but I love graveyards and Venice has a whole island. You take the vaporetto to it. Ezra Pound, Stravinski and Diaghilev are buried there. It's a lovely place for a peaceful walk.
(Sorry if some think it's a bit morbid)

I have now completed the fourth lesson of the Duolingo Italain course.

Well, not quite totally, as it asked me to turn on my microphone to test my speaking, but I did not do that. I think it asked me an alternative question.

Later today we are due to return to our cruise ship Il delfino gentile, which is moored at Polesella.

Sorry, that sounds a bit grudging - I meant I'm happy to dabble with Italian while on the cruise.

I don't have ambitions to really learn Italian but I'm giving it a go.

Ah, yes, that used to happen all the time in Marrakesh.

You'd think you were going to one place, whilst they were planning a days itinerary!

MissA. One year our hotel in Venice gave us a free water taxi ride to Murano. We were thrilled. However the driver took us straight to a glass works where we were obviously expected to buy some glass. We didn't. It was SO expensive. However the shop had some incredible glass works of art and we saw a glass blowing demonstration and then sneaked out.

I appreciate that some participants in this virtual cruise have no interest in participating in the optional activity of synchronised learning of some Italian using the free Duolingo course.

However, if there is anybody who would like to participate yet does not feel confident to try, please know that if you do try but get stuck I will try to help you as best I can. I am not a linguist but I will do my best.

The glass making is very good - I'm surprised at how little fuss is made.
I'd be worried with the flames and hot glass!
