No-one seems to have started a thread so here goes!
Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell. He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!
Having been dismissive of Olivia Rodriguez after only watching her for a few minutes I have to say that, on hearing that Robert Smith had joined her onstage, I decided to watch her full set on iplayer and she was brilliant. I then read about her on Wikipedia and realised she was a jolly nice person, too.
My son is going to see Oasis in August. I am not so much worried about their knees or voice, but that they will make it through till then without a massive fall out.
I like Noel Gallagher's take on the Glastonbury controversy. He said something like 'I don't like it in music. Some f*#*#*g little idiots waving flags and saying 'isn't war terrible or let's all boo the Tories'. Just play your f*#*#*g tunes and get off. 👏 👏
It’s good to know we agree on so much more than others Anniebach. Life long interest and commitment to the Labour Party alongside scepticism to Corbineesters
Oreo - same here ! Far too much attention to attention seeking people I remember Masters of War by the real Bob Dylan threatening death to the masters of war., yes I accept the masters were a generic term, not a group of young people defending their country (or mass murderers take your pick) but nobethelesss incitement to violence My lovely dad had no time for protest singers- they need proper job he said. But he didn’t suggest criminalising Bob Dylan. Sense of perspective anyone?
MayBee you're right....but in no time at all, Noel was slagging off New Labour but that's Oasis for you. Liam tends to be more candid, he likened Chris Martin to a Geography teacher and his pronouncements regarding the fall out Meghan and Harry versus the Royals, "well that's what you get when you marry an American" Whatever can he mean ?
It’s great to hear Lewis Capaldi is back performing — he always manages to connect so warmly with the audience. The Searchers should be a real nostalgia trip too, with plenty of sing-along classics. Sounds like a very enjoyable lineup.
