Iād convinced myself that I wasnāt bothered about not being able to see Neil Young. But, now I can I realise that I was kidding myself. The soundtrack of my life.

Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell.
He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!
I'm looking forward to seeing The Searchers. š

Until people perform you donāt know, there have been some shockers over the years - thatās why Kneebone werenāt shown live. I wonāt be watching Rod to find out though, Iām afraid his glory days have passed.
I saw him very many years ago but didn't notice him, he was part of a backing group.
Sorry, Rod!
I'm enjoying Neil Young on BBC 2 right now, When you dance, from After the Goldrush.
One of my all time favourite albums. DS1 has our vinyl now...
Iāve realised that Hey Hey My My is the perfect rhythm for doing my knee strengthening exercises toā¦
Aww, Harvest Moon, ā¤ļø...
I'm hoping for Four Strong Winds š¤
MayBee, that made me š LOL! My exercise at the moment is bending my elbow...š·

Iāll watch them on BBC1ā¦If I can stay awake.
Bob Vylan was vile
Sincere apologies Merlotgran it wasnāt your post.

Mine too if Iām to stay awake for Scissor Sisters. š
If Rod's glory days have gone, why is he doing the legends slot at Glasto?
Is anyone else fed up the BBC has lost coverage of Scissor Sisters on Woodsies stage?

Dianna Ross could hardly sing when she did the legends slot. Whereas Dolly Parton was brilliant. As was Barry Gibb. It seems to be a bit hit and miss.
My son played earlier today on the Woodsies stage and the BBC failed to broadcast it. I was absolutely gutted, and so disappointed for them.
Heās there now watching Neil Young - a huge part of my music š¶ past, and Iām finally going to see him in Hyde Park next month.
What a memorable experience for your son, NotaGran, such a pity the BBC did not broadcast his band's performance.
Apart from a boozy evening many years ago, when I found myself singing along with an ABBA tribute band at the Greco-Roman Amphitheatre near Episkopi, I have never been to a rock concert or music festival in my life. Just about everything that goes on at Glastonbury equates to my visualisation of what one of the inner circles of Hell must be like. The heat; the noise; the squalor; the people, my Dear!
I have absolutely nothing against the vast numbers of individuals who apparently derive great pleasure from the event, but I'm very pleased that attendance is not (yet) compulsory...
Johnny Flynn played on the Other stage last year; I was so looking forward to seeing him but that wasnāt shown. Iād been looking forward to it for ages. It must be amazing seeing Neil Young tonight. I actually cried when he said they were going to play another song! Might somebody put your sonās set on utube Notagran?

We watched some of it this evening. What do people think about those in the crowd who climb on their friend's shoulders to watch? I know if I had been in a crowd for hours waiting to see a particular favourite and just as they began the person in front of me climbed on her boyfriend's shoulders, blocking my view, I'd be livid.
Completely selfish. I would feel like giving them a poke.
Neil Young is a legend.
So glad they finished the set with Old Man* and then two cracking political encore tracks, Rockin' in the Free World and Throw Your Hatred Down. Micah Nelson was on fire!
*If you haven't seen it, watch the film Wonder Boys on iPlayer starring Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jnr and Frances McDormand (based on Michael Chabon's novel). Great soundtrack including Old Man and a lot of Dylan.
Scissor Sisters are amazing.
Did anyone spot Sir Ian McKellen dancing on stage with the Scissor Sisters? they were great

Thanks. Some of my favourite actors in that, too. Frances McDormand never makes a bad film. I only realised the other day that sheās is a Wes Anderson film that Iād never heard of. I find it so poignant listening to Old Man as an old person and thinking back to the young me listening to it when old age was a lifetime away. Iāve got Neil Youngs autobiography somewhere. I never got into it; found it a bit boring. But I should give it another go. He does a lot of work for disabled people because of his sons.
Cracking set by Neil Young, enjoyed every moment, his works from time ago still are applicable today.
Great to see young and old still rocking out to " keep on rocking in a free world"
My daughter who lives nearby got me a Saturday ticket for a significant birthday, it was a dry year thankfully, an experience not to be forgotten, everything is so over the top. How those going for the full festival manage to endure Iāve no idea, my eldest granddaughter goes every year itās held.
Ive watched several parts so far and will watch todays on TV, Rod Stewart is still popular with the oldies, plus I donāt suppose he gets paid much at Glastonbury, just like the rest of us heās getting old.
Maybee70 There are two Wes Anderson films with Frances McDormand in them - The French Dispatch (with TimothƩe Chalamet in her story) and Moonrise Kingdom. Which one were you thinking of?
Waging Heavy Peace? It was a rambling stream of consciousness. It needed less about cars and train sets and more about the music. Crosby, Stills, Nash were barely mentioned but then the relationship between the four was often problematic.
A rambling book is one of the themes of Wonder Boys. Old Man is well-chosen song for one particular juncture in the film - Michael Douglasās character Grady Tripp seeing himself in his talented but troubled student James Leer (Tobey Maguire). Tripp is an award winning novelist as well as teacher but is struggling with his second novel. Not blocked - just doesnāt know when to stop writing. 2611 pages and counting ā¦
After the joyful Ezra Collective - (a band close to my heart through Tomorrowās Warriors) and Neil Young yesterday, today, Nile Rodgers (one of the coolest guys in music) and Chic at 18:00 on the Pyramid Stage and Snow Patrol at the same time on the Other Stage.
Christabel Blackburnās Hockneyesque commission painting of Nile for Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year.
More about Tomorrowās Warriors here and all the wonderful work this charity does to bring on young jazz musicians.

Scissor Sisters were just brilliant!
What a moment that was at the end of Pulps set with Common people and the Red Arrows flying over. Wow.
Looking forward to seeing Rod tonight.
Talking of no coverage thereās a local band I like from York been at Glastonbury every year for about the last 5 or 6 years and never seen them on TV.
