No-one seems to have started a thread so here goes!

Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell.
He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!

I'm looking forward to seeing The Searchers. šŸ™‚

We watched some of it this evening. What do people think about those in the crowd who climb on their friend's shoulders to watch? I know if I had been in a crowd for hours waiting to see a particular favourite and just as they began the person in front of me climbed on her boyfriend's shoulders, blocking my view, I'd be livid.

Completely selfish. I would feel like giving them a poke.

Johnny Flynn played on the Other stage last year; I was so looking forward to seeing him but that wasn’t shown. I’d been looking forward to it for ages. It must be amazing seeing Neil Young tonight. I actually cried when he said they were going to play another song! Might somebody put your son’s set on utube Notagran?

Apart from a boozy evening many years ago, when I found myself singing along with an ABBA tribute band at the Greco-Roman Amphitheatre near Episkopi, I have never been to a rock concert or music festival in my life. Just about everything that goes on at Glastonbury equates to my visualisation of what one of the inner circles of Hell must be like. The heat; the noise; the squalor; the people, my Dear!
I have absolutely nothing against the vast numbers of individuals who apparently derive great pleasure from the event, but I'm very pleased that attendance is not (yet) compulsory...

What a memorable experience for your son, NotaGran, such a pity the BBC did not broadcast his band's performance.

NotAGran55 Sat 28-Jun-25 23:26:45

My son played earlier today on the Woodsies stage and the BBC failed to broadcast it. I was absolutely gutted, and so disappointed for them.
He’s there now watching Neil Young - a huge part of my music šŸŽ¶ past, and I’m finally going to see him in Hyde Park next month.

If Rod's glory days have gone, why is he doing the legends slot at Glasto?

Dianna Ross could hardly sing when she did the legends slot. Whereas Dolly Parton was brilliant. As was Barry Gibb. It seems to be a bit hit and miss.

Is anyone else fed up the BBC has lost coverage of Scissor Sisters on Woodsies stage?

I'm enjoying Neil Young on BBC 2 right now, When you dance, from After the Goldrush.
One of my all time favourite albums. DS1 has our vinyl now...

Until people perform you don’t know, there have been some shockers over the years - that’s why Kneebone weren’t shown live. I won’t be watching Rod to find out though, I’m afraid his glory days have passed.

I saw him very many years ago but didn't notice him, he was part of a backing group.
Sorry, Rod!

MayBee70 Sat 28-Jun-25 22:26:24

I’d convinced myself that I wasn’t bothered about not being able to see Neil Young. But, now I can I realise that I was kidding myself. The soundtrack of my life.

They are shouting for the death of Jews and you are worried about rod Stewart supporting a political party that we will win the next election.

In what world does one cancel out the other?

Well, if he doesn't bring his politics with him to Glastonbury there is no problem. He's there to perform, not promote political messages or hate speech.
So was Bob Vylan.

So am I.

Does anyone know when Scissor Sisters are on?

10:30 on Woodsies stage. I’ll be watching.

If you search for Glastonbury 2025 on Google all timings are listed for all stages

Rod Stewart’s and Eric Clapton’s racist views were why Rock Against Racism was formed. Both supported Enoch Powell … and now Stewart supports Farage. What a surprise.

After the joyful Ezra Collective and everything good they stand for, his appearance will be sour. I hope the festival goers turn their backs on him.

He and Clapton built their careers on black music. They should be ashamed.

I knew about Eric Clapton but not Rod Stewart.

Rod Stewart was news to me too.

Allira Sat 28-Jun-25 22:03:04

Hate speech at Glastonbury. 😯

But it's calling for the death of Jews so some will think thst's ok.

I hope A&S Police investigate thoroughly
