A terrible crime unpunished!! Imho 🙄
Is wealth inequality causing the big issues of our day?
Not sure if I can add to original post - forgot to ask for information about the original painting and artist. I have done an AI painting identification request which has described it as Cubist with influences of Impressionism, and thinks the signature is Loys. Otherwise it has no more to add!
It may be by Christian Loys whom I believe is still active in the Nîmes area and in the Hérault department. He has occasionally featured in my local newspaper, Midi Libre .
It is most likely The Burial of the Count Orgaz by El Greco.
I am not an art expert but good at taking photographs and asking AI!
I have just looked at the El Greco. It is definitely not that.
Apart from that the faces are those of modern times not medieval. loys seems more likely.
Try Facebook he’s on there in French 😆🌷
You could contact Loys representatives through his website and enclose that snapshot of your poster, ask if it is one of his and if they know of an outlet still selling them ?

It's a beautiful picture
Thank you all for responding! I think Clairefontaine, Celieanne and Rocketstop2 are on the right track and I will follow up their suggestions.
I agree I don't think it's the El Greco as it really looks more like a Last Supper but possibly an influence.
Really grateful and will let you know how it goes!
Its lovely.
If its another poster from the same time, put it up somewhere where there isnt a lot of light, fade wise.
A more modern printed poster probably has less fadeable (sp?) colours, but another tip is to take really good photos of the new poster when it arrives, and you will always be able to re print a copy for yourself.
Google image says it’s from an artwork by Steve des Landes. Suggesting a modern take on probably the last supper.
PS, if you cant find a replacement, an option is to take a good photo of the original - maybe ask a professional - because you or someone for you, should be able to edit the photograph on a computer to make the colours bright again
Use Google lens on your phone. On the right end of the google search bar there is a square with rounded corners with a dot in the middle. Click on that and you will be able take a pic of the painting which instantly takes you to info about it.

This painting is a work by the British artist John Reilly (1928–2010), titled "Christ with a Chalice".. Google lens tells me it's
Sorry ... above got mumbles up. Google lens told me it is by Reilly!
Forget that!! It is nothing like it. Never trust AI
A local print shop could scan it and produce a less faded one for you probably - though it may still be in copyright.
Is it framed?
The border will almost certainly say who printed it. And may have other details such as artist and title.
If the printers is still going they may have links to where you can buy one but either way you may find it on ebay (say) once you know what you are looking for.
🤞
That will
Thank you NotSpaghetti! Luckygirl3, have looked up John Reilly - some beautiful work, similar, but so far can't find that picture.
The signature on the bottom was difficult to read, but I narrowed it down to Loys or Loyd. It has disappeared over the years, leaving a tide mark but as I said above, when I put the photo into AI, it immediately said the signature was Loys. (How did it do that??) So I definitely think it must be Christian Loys as previously suggested. The style seems consistent with the few images of his early work online. I bought it 20 plus years ago in Chatellailon-sur-Mer, near La Rochelle, so if he was roughly in that area a local poster shop might be happy to include it in their stock.
It us very beautiful.
The AI summary of the results I got from Google Image had TWO references to the things mentioned in the comments here, saying the painter was probably Christian Loys, or may be by El Greco, with no other suggestions, and the Google list of relevant links had several to this thread, with a copy of the image that the OP posted. No other images of it on any other site I can find. It just shows how incestuous AI answers to enquiries are - the main answers refer back to the original query as their "results".
I don't think the style is the same as any of the paintings by any artist that turned up in searches, so it must be by a lesser known artist, or an earlier or experimental work by a better-known one. Someone with specialised knowledge of Christian Loys may know of it being by him.
La Rochelle is the west coast of France not the south.
I mention this only as it might be relevant.
Sores, yes it is. We also spent time near Beziers and Perpignan so I'm wondering if I got it in one of those areas. (We did the whole coast from Menton to Carnac one summer - a lovely trip). I can picture the square where the shop was but no signposts!
Elegran - cripes! There's a lesson for us!
hoomee29 if you can picture the square and can narrow the town down a but maybe Google maps will help you find it again if it still exists.
I have found several places over the last few years by "walking" the street with Goodle!
