Run in to Easter lets get a few more pounds off before we indulge in the chocolate grin

Notsogrand Mon 19-Mar-12 07:49:21

Morning everyone.....lovely sunshine chasing away the frost here.
Well, after a couple of months of faffing around since Christmas, I finally feel I have my diet head back on again and I've lost 3lbs this week.
That takes me down to exactly 4 stones less then when we started this thread on 30th May last year. I still have a good way to go, but not as far as I've already been! smile

Sewsilver Mon 19-Mar-12 07:55:56

Notso 4stones is an amazing amount to lose. Well done.I'm up in Scotland this week and no access to scales. Probably as well as red wine and chocolate and local ice cream have been big components of my diet. Guess that I'm back to where I was a month ago before I was ill. Time to dust off the discipline.

glassortwo Mon 19-Mar-12 07:58:44

I need a fanfare.... just imagine the trumpets....

Congratulations notso that is amazing 4st in less than a year smile smile you are an inspiration to us all. I feel very excited for you.

I feel like shouting from the roof tops on your behalf.
well done flowers flowers flowers flowers

well done

Notso what a great achievement - you really have shown us how it should be done.

I weighed myself when I got up and have lost nothing, but it was one of those days yesterday, passing round chocolates, drinking wine, lots of nibbles and home-made cupcakes made by little hands for their mummy, so I think in a couple of days I'll have a more realistic view of things. I really don't feel like eating much other than soups and fruit today - can't cope with excess these days.

Notsogrand Mon 19-Mar-12 08:28:43

Thank you for your kind words ladies! Couldn't have done it without the support of glass and everyone else on this thread. So flowers to you all!

Just had a twiddle with my calculator, the weight I've lost averages out at 1.3 lbs a week. So when you're feeling a bit fed up because the weight seems so slow to shift, just keep remembering that even little bits eventually add up to a big bit! grin

Good luck everyone!

jeni Mon 19-Mar-12 08:36:45

13.6 again.

susiecb Mon 19-Mar-12 09:57:13

Well done Notso I am very impressed and inspiredsmile

one a half away for me this week - only 10 lbs to go!!!

greenmossgiel Mon 19-Mar-12 13:21:07

A quarter of a pound off! Hardly anything, but at least it's OFF!
Notso - you have done so well! You must be so proud of yourself. An inspiration to us all! smile

raggymac Mon 19-Mar-12 14:17:48

Not lost anything this week oh dear. Well done from me notso I wish I could get' the bit between the teeth' (not a bit of cake though-that's too easy)

Granb Mon 19-Mar-12 15:27:54

Congrats to all you "losers".

Despite walking, cycling, skiing and not drinking wine (well not too much anyway) have actually managed to put on weight!!! Did come home from holiday to letter from GP asking to phone about thyroid function tests - have TSH level of 54.34 .... hmm I think that's going to be my excuse.

Sbagran Mon 19-Mar-12 15:31:38

Well done notso - what an achievement and as you say, achieved by averaging less than a pound and a half a week! Just goes to show all of us that when we only lose a pound or so we are still winning the battle! Don't despair raggymac and granb as it will happen!

Weighed yesterday at my usual Sunday morning time and sadsadly I have put on just over a pound. This was over a period of two weeks though as last week I didn't weigh as I was busy collapsing with my stupid little health problem smile. I am pleased to say that I hope I am over it now but seem to be left a bit washed out? I didn't do any of my gym/swim sessions last week either. I am due to go tomorrow but will see how I feel. I will probably go as I am sure it will do me good but I will be sensible as don't want to hit the deck again!

I am ok about my slight gain as I have had two naughty weekends too - (Hubby's big 60 celebrations last weekend and Mothering Sunday and visitors yesterday) so I am considering myself lucky that I didn't put more on!

Good luck fellow losers grin

nanachrissy Mon 19-Mar-12 16:14:19

Notso congratulations! What a pity you hadn't put a photo on your profile, you could have done a before and after shot grin

flowers wine

Notsogrand Mon 19-Mar-12 19:36:15

A nice thought nanachrissy but I never allowed any 'before' pictures to be taken. (Didn't know anyone with a wide angle lens anyway! grin

glassortwo Mon 19-Mar-12 19:57:40

sew have a lovely time in Scotland smile
carol its hard to avoid all the naughty bits around Mothers Day.
jeni keep at, its just a little gain, are you getting weighed at the same time/day of the week?
susie well done... its coming down, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
green its off and thats what is important.
raggy at least its not a gain, keep at it.
granb you need to get sorted at the Dr's, but dont give up... try to keep an eye on what you are eating.
sba we need to be able to enjoy celebrations its a good part of our lives, we would soon give up if we cant once in a while enjoy the good things in life.
notso grin

Come on we can do it sunshine sunshine sunshine thats what we will be seeing soon I hope and all those fab clothes we will be wanting to wear, just think how gorgeous you are all going to look.

jeni Mon 19-Mar-12 20:11:52

Yes! sadhave given up diet and ordered new wardrobe insteadgrin

glassortwo Mon 19-Mar-12 20:33:57

jeni thats one way of doing it grin you could try to make small changes in your normal eating so that you dont feel you are dieting. Swop for the healthier option, cut back on things like bread, biscuits and cake and you will see a change. wink

jeni Mon 19-Mar-12 21:08:24

I've done that, seen the film, got the the Tshirt etc: no, I'm fed up of being miserable! I'm going to be juneoesque , gorgeous, and enjoy it! grin

glassortwo Mon 19-Mar-12 21:12:07

jeni you have to be happy, so enjoy wink

jeni Mon 19-Mar-12 22:07:48

You can ask maniac what she thinks I look like after Wednesday!
I trust she will be truthful!

Annobel Mon 19-Mar-12 22:39:10

Can't wait, jeni and maniac.

glassortwo Mon 19-Mar-12 22:55:26

Are you all meeting up?

glassortwo Wed 21-Mar-12 09:38:23

This is golden result this week, which got mixed up with an old post.

I stayed the same, it was my DD's birthday in Monday, and my Dg, aged 6, and I put on a tea party for her. Need I say more.

Hope you are all being good grin

ronald Thu 22-Mar-12 06:45:16

Have now got mother sorted out, better, but not completely. However it has meant eating on the move,so lots of bacon and egg rolls, pork and stuffing rolls, fish and chips etc.Not looking forward to my weigh-in on monday.Tears may be shed.Have you ever seen a grown man cry?

Notsogrand Thu 22-Mar-12 07:01:57

ronald this is a good place to have a snivel!
Try to get back on track before Monday though, don't wait until the weigh-in. Every day without 'fat food' is a step in the right direction.

How's your allotment? It's a busy time of year for gardeners, but I love it! Good luck, and we'll see you on Monday.
