Thought you might like this (stolen from Mumsnet)

Good luck everyone.

I am fat, i cannot lie
i need to push myself to try
to eat the foods my body needs
if i really want to succeed

my bum it wobbles as i walk
my many chins jiggle as i talk

my chubby fingers mashing this board
all because of my chocolate hoard

my belly rests upon my thighs
yes i know the reason why

but how do i stop it, do you know?
if i wish really hard, will my fat up and go?

unfortunatly not, i hear you say
but surely there must be an easier way?

im only 28, but i feel so old
with my bingo wings and my extra rolls

my joints are aching under the strain
so why cant i get through to my brain?

im really a slim girl with energy abound
not a big fat lump, waddling round

i want to wear some trendy clothes
not shop where the old ladies go

so this time i need to do it right
im sick of my clothes feeling so tight

out gos the choccy and savories too
in comes Ms McKeith to check my poo

replacing fat with fruit thats good
and start to do now what i always should

i am fat, i cannot lie
but this time..im going to try!

It's working already (at least, it is today!). I feel like all you Gransnetters are watching me when I go in the kitchen - if it works, it's an inspired idea!

No tears have been shed,my weight was exactly the same down to the last ounce. My better half did shed a few because I said that if I lost any weight I would do 3 laps of my alloment in the nude(not a pretty site)She wouldn't believe I was only joking. It was too close for comfort. I won't be making silly promises like that again.Just assumed there was no possibity

With the decorating, the condemned boiler and the course I've got to do [now 7 months behind with it!] I'm just picking at food and not getting any proper exercise. My diet seems to consist of toast, porridge and horlicks; could be worse I suppose, but I feel very bloated. The bread eating has got to stop. Think it'll have to be an April start now sad.

glassortwo Tue 27-Mar-12 19:56:55

ronald thats one saving grace in not loosing this week grin

crimson I am the same with bread, especially white it does terrible things to my insides, I try to avoid it but every so often I fall of the wagon. April 1st is as good a day as any to start grin

I posted a couple of weeks ago to say that I needed to lose 4lbs. It sounds easy, but I am afraid to say that after a lovely weekend away in a hotel with friends, I now need to lose 5lbs. I'm trying to lose some this week before going away for a week with all the family. At least I am still a stone lighter than at the same time last year.

glassortwo Tue 27-Mar-12 20:20:38

maureen even having a small amount to loose is a challenge. I have to get my head in the right place to loose weight and I have to do it for me.

Just try to cut back on biscuits/cakes/bread and have more veg and you will see it come off, sometimes upping you exercise can make a huge difference. But as you have already lost a stone you know which way suits you, its just getting into the right place, good luck smile

Enjoy your week away with the family sunshine I would maybe tempted to have a break and start when you get home.

I've completely cut out bread over the last few months. I've found that I really quite like Ryvita confused -sad old me! Bread really made me feel terribly bloated - and since I've given it up, my digestion's been so much better, too.

The lovely ones with pumkin, sesame and sunflower seeds are really delicious, green (and a bit expensive), but so much nicer than the 'cardboard' we all grew up on.

Sbagran Tue 27-Mar-12 21:41:08

Carol yesterdays jelly beans don't count - we didn't start until tonight!
How have you got on?
I haven't had a nibble mission at all this evening (gloat emoticon!) and don't think you have - like you say, you feel now you are being watched and that has to be good! DH is home tonight so that helps - I am worse when he is on nights and I am home alone! He did wind me up though offering me a choc bar or crisps!!! I politely-ish refused smile
Anyone else who wants to join the anti-nibble-missionaries are more than welcome!!! grin

Thanks glass for all your support xxx

Sbagran I'm doing really well. I had soup and a small salad at 7 pm, then an apple, glass of fresh apple juice and nothing but a cup of tea since then. I really don't feel the urge to graze this evening, and will be going to bed in half an hour. Even if it works for a few days (and I hope it will be more) it certainly was a good idea.

The jelly beans are now with the baking ingedients in the cupboard!

Sbagran Tue 27-Mar-12 22:01:52

YEH Carol well done - be in touch tomorrow evening - same time same place!!! grin

Carol Tue 27-Mar-12 22:13:36

Well done to you, too Sbagran. I'm feeling newly motivated now!

glassortwo Tue 27-Mar-12 22:22:33

Go girls wink

GoldenGran Wed 28-Mar-12 09:51:15

Well done sbagran. I have lost a pound, so am happy, I''m slowly moving down through the tens.

glassortwo Wed 28-Mar-12 13:23:26

Fantastic golden well done.

I may need to make a confession later, I have been in the kitchen all morning making biscuits for the school Easter Fayre tomorrow and I am spending the afternoon icing them, might be a little hard to resist a little nibble shock

Sbagran Wed 28-Mar-12 15:52:21

We're watching you glass!!!!!!!!!!!!! grin

nanachrissy Wed 28-Mar-12 16:49:30

Carol I must warn you that putting things in the baking cupboard just doesn't work!!
In mine(and I don't do baking) are salted nuts, bourneville choc and mini apple pies!!!

hmm

Carol Wed 28-Mar-12 17:03:45

I don't know WHAT (indignant!) you mean nanachrissy! All I have in my baking cupbaord are jelly beans, 70% chocolate, grated chocolate, rolling icing, orange and lemon slices, glace cherries......Oh! Perhaps I do.....! grin

Sbagran Wed 28-Mar-12 21:27:33

Well girls I have been out to the theatre this evening to see my darling grandson (aged 8yrs) being the front part of the boat! Wonderful stuff - brought the house down!
Bonus is that I have not had the opportunity to go on a nibble-mission! I was busy when I got in from work until it was time for my meal and off out!
Hope everyone else has managed to resist - good luck all!

glassortwo Wed 28-Mar-12 21:45:24

chrissy had you made those mini apple pie with you fair hands, is that why they happen to be in your baking cupboard grin grin

Carol Wed 28-Mar-12 22:12:05

Had a busy day today, and have not been tempted to graze. I have just had a mixed berry Geobar (120 cals) and a cup of tea, and will shortly be going to bed. Just watching The Apprentice - You're Fired.

Sbagran Thu 29-Mar-12 07:27:17

Well done carol another nibble-mission-free day!
Had a great email from a friend of mine who blames her fridge magnets for the fact she keeps going to her fridge?
Apparently the metal fillings she has in her teeth keep being dragged there by the magnets grin

Carol Thu 29-Mar-12 07:31:27

That must top the list of the best excuses I've ever heard Sbagran grin

glassortwo Thu 29-Mar-12 07:50:57

Good morning all hope you managed to avoid the munchies last night.

I fought off the Easter Bunny biscuits and they will soon be off to school so that temptation will be out of reach, until this afternoon and I am expected to buy cake to boost the funds shock

nanachrissy Thu 29-Mar-12 07:51:52

That's so funny, (thinks...I must get some more fridge magnets!) grin

Glass How very dare you! grin grin
