Thought you might like this (stolen from Mumsnet)

Good luck everyone.

I am fat, i cannot lie
i need to push myself to try
to eat the foods my body needs
if i really want to succeed

my bum it wobbles as i walk
my many chins jiggle as i talk

my chubby fingers mashing this board
all because of my chocolate hoard

my belly rests upon my thighs
yes i know the reason why

but how do i stop it, do you know?
if i wish really hard, will my fat up and go?

unfortunatly not, i hear you say
but surely there must be an easier way?

im only 28, but i feel so old
with my bingo wings and my extra rolls

my joints are aching under the strain
so why cant i get through to my brain?

im really a slim girl with energy abound
not a big fat lump, waddling round

i want to wear some trendy clothes
not shop where the old ladies go

so this time i need to do it right
im sick of my clothes feeling so tight

out gos the choccy and savories too
in comes Ms McKeith to check my poo

replacing fat with fruit thats good
and start to do now what i always should

i am fat, i cannot lie
but this time..im going to try!

blush Oops mini-slip up this evening but in my defence it wasn't reeeeally a nibble mission!
We had a friend around this evening for a 'Chinese and chat' as the poor girl has been through a rough time. I hasten to add that hubby and friend had FRIED rice but I had boiled (saint emoticon!)
I also had been very good all day, saving myself for tonight.....
AND.... (she says trying her best to justify her actions!) I did insist on my friend taking away with her all the prawn crackers as her little grandson loves them - so I did take away all further temptation!!!
Sorry girls - hope Carol and any others trying to avoid nibble-missions do better. I will do better tomorrow and Saturday and hope that there won't be too much damage on the scales on Sunday morning hmm

sba having a chinese is the best carryout while watching your weight, if you go for some of the light dishes such as chicken ginger and spring onion and boiled rice but not the sweet and sour dishes you cant go wrong.

Well I have lost another 1lb and I managed to be tempted only once at the Easter Fayre wink and I knew who had baked it, I am very funny over eating cakes and biscuits when you dont know the donor shock

Sbagran Fri 30-Mar-12 17:20:58

Sort of a 'half-oops' then glass as I was a little saint having boiled rice!
However, we had three main courses which we shared between us - beef curry which I don't eat, beef and mushroom and sweet and sour Hong Kong Style (without the batter).
I would have had about half a portion of the beef and mushroom and half a portion of the sweet and sour, so all in all I don't think it was too bad and could have been worse - AND I got rid of the prawn crackers!
Carol is a bit quiet ?????? Hope she hasn't succumbed but if you have Carol today is another day!!!

More words of diet wisdom from my emailer! grin

What fits your busy schedule better? Exercising one hour a day ore being dead 24 hours a day? hmm

Woman to waiter .....
"I'm going to order broiled skinless chicken breast with a side salad,
but I want you to bring me lasagne, chips and garlic bread by mistake!"

If you put a crouton on your ice cream sundae instead of a cherry
it counts as a salad!

The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine!

Sorry girls grin

Sbagran.....too funny! grin

Just catching up with the monitoring of evening munchies on this thread. I often get a craving for cheese in the evening, not cottage cheese which I have 2/3 times a week, but proper strong cheddar which I've cut out of my diet. Next time I'm tempted, I'll come straight here!

If I'm really struggling in the evenings I make a bowl of chopped up celery with loads of pepper and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Don't laugh, but I then eat it using a cocktail stick. Makes it last longer smile

Have a good weekend everyone!

Didn't get to check in last night, as I kept getting phone calls just as I was settling down to have a wander round Gransnet. No, I didn't succumb in the evening - did have a roast dinner at lunchtime, cooked for me by my lovely sister - so full I didn't feel like eating for the rest of the day, but just had an apple. It's a new day and I will be really busy, so no time to think about urges to graze.

glassortwo Sat 31-Mar-12 09:18:03

Good morning all sunshine

I am off to York for a few days tomorrow to meet up with my sisters, notso is going to start a new thread for Monday.

If you cant be good be careful

I will catch up with you all later in the week, behave grin

Carol Sat 31-Mar-12 09:29:39

Have a lovely time glass. Sisters' company sounds lovely!

Sbagran Sat 31-Mar-12 14:06:09

Thanks for supervising us glass - have a great break and thanks in advance to notso for taking over in your absence. Like you notso cheese is my downfall and it is so difficult to resist so the support of this thread is brilliant.
See you all next week! smile

Notsogrand Sat 31-Mar-12 15:34:53

jeni you are so right....if I think about it, celery/pepper/balsamic is not only confused but bordering on bleurgh. So is the cup of hot oxo I'm curently drinking instead of another mug of coffee.

However...the celery snack is a total of only 20 calories, takes ages to chew and as it's hard for the body to metabalise, uses up calories to digest it. The oxo is 17 calories, whereas the milk I'd use in coffee is about 50.

So I try not to think about the bleurgh element too much, but it's not always easy!

notso you are so focused, I need a leaf out of your book. smile

Another night when I didn't check in, but yesterday was quite a worrying day. Grandson had first asthma attack whilst I was looking after him with his twin brother, and mum had to come home to take him to A and E for treatment. He is fine, but has had an overnight stay. I don't even remember going in my kitchen last night - certainly won't want a deterrent to night-time grazing like that ever again. I think I may have lost a couple of pounds this week, but will check in about that on Monday.

Notsogrand Sun 01-Apr-12 08:42:10

Carol, that must have been quite alarming! Hope your little one is ok, let us know how he's getting on. His little brother must be missing him. sad

Look after yourself. flowers

Sbagran Sun 01-Apr-12 12:05:06

Wow Carol so glad little one is ok again - I would much prefer any of us going on a nibble-mission to going to A&E. You take care flowers

Annobel Sun 01-Apr-12 13:12:15

Carol, that is so scary. You must have been frantic. I hope he (and you) will be full of beans again soon. ((((hugs))))

Carol Sun 01-Apr-12 14:15:20

Thanks, everyone. Little Milo had a good night, and his dad was sleeping beside him when mum when home for a few hours. This morning, typical 3 year old, he's racing around the ward and full of beans now the nebuliser and inhalers have done their work. They're just waiting for some medication and will be taking him home any minute, thank goodness.

Thanks for asking, evryone smile

nanachrissy Sun 01-Apr-12 15:40:41

So glad all's well Carol.I wondered why you didn't appear at Super's party.
It's such a fright when you are the one looking after them. You deserve a wine xx

jeni Sun 01-Apr-12 15:46:22

Glad alls ok! They bounce don't theygrin

Annobel Sun 01-Apr-12 15:46:40

Kids, eh? Down one minute, dancing on the ceiling the next. Yes, we missed you last night and had to inform quite a few people that it really wasn't you under the bed. We must have a coming home party for super so that she can be properly there.

Carol Sun 01-Apr-12 22:02:58

I'm sorry I missed the party but was with you in spirit (freudian slip there!). My little family are all back home and happy, and Milo has been reunited with twin brother Luca who missed him (for a minute!)

I have stayed out of the kitchen for yet another night, and am so knackered I will be going to bed in a few minutes.

I'll be starting the new week with renewed motivation, and my fridge is full of healthy vegetables, juices and NO TREATS! Not even a tiny chocolate pot (makes a change). smile
