Welcome back, jeni - I take it the food was excellent then! grin

I returned from holiday 5 days ago and had not put on any weight. Which was surprising, given the amount of pasta/cheese/salami/wine/pastries etc consumed whilst away. This morning, my 'official' weigh in day, I have put on 2 lbs! So it's eventually caught up with me, fair enough.

The delayed weight gain makes sense, but I don't understand why insect bites acquired in Italy, didn't start swelling & itching until I returned home. Weird!

Notsogrand Mon 11-Jun-12 11:12:12

jeni, did your ship stop at La Spezia?

Drove past there and saw a cruise ship anchored up that I recognised from Southampton docks, so I wondered if you were aboard? smile

Sbagran Mon 11-Jun-12 14:26:00

Right fellow-losers it's back to business. grin
Having put on 3lb at my 'unofficial' weigh-in last Monday following my holiday, I am getting back into my normal routine this week.
Weigh in yesterday = 167.8 lbs. Was 167 exactly prior to holiday (170 on return) so I am happy that I have lost 2.2 of my 3lb gain.
Back to the gym/swim tomorrow and sensible eating must be the new rule of the day!
Just wish the weather was better - doesn't encourage walking and also you feel so 'down' on grey days that your determination wavers doesn't it!
Ah well onwards and downwards (hopefully!) grin
Am going to start confessing all my sins again (blushONLY dieting ones!!!) as that seemed to help to stop the nibble-missions! Been good so far today but it is only 2.20pm!
Good luck everyone!

Stayed more or less the same. Good luck to you all, though, and don't despair if a couple of pounds have foisted themselves upon you, you'll soon get it off again. smile

jeni Mon 11-Jun-12 15:05:22

notso no not me! Could have been the vic or Elizabeth!

AlisonMA Mon 11-Jun-12 15:21:37

Lost 1.4 lbs so still 0.4 to lose to be back to where I was before I went away and then want to lose a stone by end of July. Not looking very likely.

I do so agree that this weather doesn't help. Gardening yesterday which was good (and stopped me eating out of boredom) but today it is raining again. Then there is football as well so I sit and read a book and think how nice a little snack would be................

On the plus side I've just been out to lunch with a friend and behaved myself so feel virtous but am being taken out to dinner somewhere special on Wednesday so won't be able to resist. It was so much easier when I was working and too tired to go out in the evenings.

Well done jeni and sba keep it up.

Sbagran Mon 11-Jun-12 18:23:07

and think how nice a little snack would be................ AlisonMA ???

The nibble mission police are watching you !!!!!!!!!!!! shock

jeni Mon 11-Jun-12 18:28:51

Alison. I also have a stone, plus a half to lose by August!sad

glassortwo Mon 11-Jun-12 20:02:35

Another 2lb that's 8.5 lbs in two weeks grin grin

Notsogrand Mon 11-Jun-12 20:10:58

Fantastic glass!

glassortwo Mon 11-Jun-12 20:14:24

jeni dont you dare get down shock you have been on holiday, you got yourself sorted before you went away and you can do it again, come on and see what we can get off for your holiday!!!

Dont worry about it notso you have been away and have indulged in all the things you have avoided for a year, dont loose sight of what you have done over this last year, it will come off as quick as it went on!

sba well done you have nearly got back to where you were again, its does not take long once you settle to it again, keep it up!

green you have maintained so well done, do you need to loose any more, you dont look like you need to?

Alison well done 1.4lbs, dont sabotage yourself by falling into the nibbles on an evening trap, sba and the fridge police will be after you beware grin I have offered my photo for the fridge door and that will frighten you grin

glassortwo Mon 11-Jun-12 20:15:01

Thanks notso smile

Jeni I think we might be at the bottom of the class! Was it Oscar Wilde who said "I can avoid anything except temptation" or some such?

DH bought me flowers and said he would cook me a special meal tonight as he has been watching all the football. He will be upset if I don't eat it all. Must be a match he doesn't care about tonight.

Did a hard pilates class this morning but don't suppose that used many calories.

jeni Tue 12-Jun-12 11:35:37

Down 1/4lb today! Some of it is fluid retention due to the saltier food on board!

whenim64 Tue 12-Jun-12 12:25:44

Down 1lb this week. I'm getting a bit bored with avoiding carbs like bread. Keep thinking I want to bake a lovely loaf but it would end up plastered with butter. Must keep busy.

susiecb Tue 12-Jun-12 12:29:04

Oh dear put a pound and half on this week after the big jubilee weekend wonder if the Queen did? Ou SW consultant was very upset as we as a group had gained more than we had lost. She has said we cant have a holiday week now unless we can prove we cant get to another group! Not sure she can say that people will only lie to her anyway. She is new and inexperienced also very young- dont think she knows much about human nature! anyway I a bmack on the plan now only five pounds to go.

glassortwo Tue 12-Jun-12 12:33:29

alison There is not a bottom of the class grin we are all in the same boat here wink

jeni drink plenty of water and you will get rid of any that's left.

Well done when do you need to completely stop your bread? You might be like me if I was to make bread the temptation to eat most of it would be enormous (just like me grin ) This SW I am doing I have either cereal for breakfast or 2 small slices of brown bread for lunch.

glassortwo Tue 12-Jun-12 12:38:22

Oh dear she sounds like a jobs worth susie my consultant said just ring if you cant make it and she will put a holiday in!! I think she needs to look at her people skills shock what did she expect after an extended holiday, I think a bit of encouragement would have been more productive!!
5lb not far away susie you know what to do wink

AlisonMA Tue 12-Jun-12 13:12:33

Oh glass I don't mind being the worst loser, it must make everyone else feel so much better! smile. I must be top in something else grin

whenim64 Tue 12-Jun-12 13:15:00

glass I do have sliced bread in the freezer in case I want to take a couple of slices out and toast it, so I suppose I should use that. I think whenever you deprive yourself of something, it becomes so much more tempting. I keep telling myself that everything I eat should be gorgeous and tasty, which is where the fantasies about the lovely home-made bread come in. Too much spare time on my hands, obviouslygrin

glassortwo Tue 12-Jun-12 13:16:55

Yes I believe there is nothing we cant eat, its the amount we have to control grin

greenmossgiel Tue 12-Jun-12 15:02:52

glass, I don't really want to lose much more, just enough to keep me under that 11 stone, so that I don't waver above it, and lose heart again! If I can get to 10st 11 or thereabouts, I'll feel I have a bit of leeway!
when, I find that I really just can't eat bread or I feel bloated and the weight seems to creep up very easily. (I LOVE bread!) sad
