Confession time. I've just eaten about 3 teaspoons of raw Christmas Pudding mixture. shock It isn't listed on MFP, but cooked CP is on there so I've added half a slice to my intake for today. 153 calories!!!! blush

I have no scales but I do feel a bit thinner. I've managed a 30min very brisk walk today, after a 1 hour exercise class, and I think that my food intake has gone down slightly (smaller plates).
Tomorrow I'm lunching out, but we've changed the venue to the vegetarian cafe where the salads are scrumptious, so I am trying glass. wink

yogagran Wed 18-Jul-12 19:52:24

not so - are you really making your Christmas Puddings today? I'm most impressed if you are

Annobel Wed 18-Jul-12 19:53:27

Notso, please tell me you aren't cooking Christmas pudding in July!

Notsogrand Wed 18-Jul-12 20:21:56

I am! I was given a recipe for a pudding that can be cooked in the microwave. (I usually steam on the stove for 8 hours and re-heat in the microwave on The Day) As it's a different recipe and method to my tried & trusted ones, I always planned to do a road-test one before Christmas. SIL loves Christmas Pudding and as it's his birthday next week, he's getting a road test one in with his birthday presents!

Only 7/8 minutes in the microwave, about half the time it took to weigh & assemble the ingredients! It looks and smells great. But the proof of the pudding......grin

Oh, and the decision to do it was prompted by Julian Graves going into Administration. Such a shame and I really hope they get 'bought up' by someone, but it did mean that I bought all my dried fruit etc for several C puds/cakes at half price in the local shop.

jeni Wed 18-Jul-12 20:27:57

Can we have this recipe?

Annobel Wed 18-Jul-12 20:28:18

Oh no! I didn't know that. I will miss that source of dried fruit.

yogagran Wed 18-Jul-12 20:30:15

I didn't know about Julian Graves, that's a shame. Although I've often been surprised to see that shop in the same street as Holland & Barrett. Will you let us know about the microwave pudding notso and the recipe if it's a success.

Perhaps we should start a "preparing for Christmas" thread [ducks down quickly]

Notsogrand Wed 18-Jul-12 20:42:55

I'll wait for feedback on how the pudding re-heats/tastes and if it's ok, I'll post the recipe. I've got my fingers crossed because it was so much less faff than steaming all day long. Not to mention the cost of an electric ring on the cooker going for 8 hours.

(I started a Christmas thread last year yoga and ducking wasn't quite enoughgrin)

jeni I think the thyroid profiles may not be as reliable as some think because mine were absolutely fine but my thyroid was massive and right down in the chest, the surgeon was appalled and said it had to come out right away. I was put on 50 mcg a day and the profile said it was too much but I know people on 150 who still have working thyroids. Eventually I went to see an endocrinologist and he told me to take a lot more despite the readings because he took a lot of other things into account as well.

MY SW consutant has given me another plan to try called Success express which is really cutting the carbs back and increaing fruit and veg which I am doing and like it better. My scales tell me I've lost that pound I had on on Monday but she keeps telling us not to use homescales as they are inaccurate.

GoldenGran Thu 19-Jul-12 13:07:25

I forgot to post on Wednesday, I have lost a pound. Am off on holiday in the New Forest tomorrow, so will post when Iget back. I will be good... I will be good I really will! hmm

jeni Thu 19-Jul-12 13:11:17

Oh yea?

glassortwo Thu 19-Jul-12 13:23:27

notso look what you have started mention of the C word, thought you would have learnt your lesson last year grin grin grin but you did get lots of exercise with all the ducking.

jeni I will have to look at last week as I am not sure how you did, but sounds like a loss so well done smile

susie that sounds interesting.

golden well done, have a lovely holiday. Hope you dont need the wellies.

Well I have lost the plot this week I dont know if its having GS with me through the day but its a constant Grandma can I have ... so please someone slap me!!!!

AlisonMA Thu 19-Jul-12 13:24:10

susie well done. I think if you keep your scales on a flat surface they will probably be consistent even if not the same as hers.

Golden hard to be good when away from home, life sort of feels unreal and priorities feel different! grin I'm going soon so just preparing the way!

glassortwo Sun 22-Jul-12 10:04:59

Its been very quiet on here this week... not sure if that's a good thing or not..........how are you all getting on with your app!

AlisonMA Sun 22-Jul-12 10:18:54

glass I think the app is keeping us away from this thread! I do feel like such a good girl from keeping account like this but may go off the rails today as we are off to a reggae festival in Birmingham and I suspect there will be lots of temptations. Afterwards going to DS3 and fiancee's house for dinner so more temptations. I only have until Friday before we go away and was hoping to make the first milestone before we go but am just going to miss it.

Went to Julian Graves when I saw everything 1/2 price and now have loads of temptations to resist, which I have so far. Am I a hopeless case?

glassortwo Sun 22-Jul-12 11:50:55

alison enjoy your day I like the sound of a Reggae festival. grin

Notsogrand Sun 22-Jul-12 14:48:17

Golden, the New Forest is my stomping ground...we could have met for coffee! You've brought some lovely weather with you. sunshine Have a great holiday!

I'm still filling in my app for every meal and find it helps me to focus on what I'm eating. The only thing I've eaten that is 'off plan' was a hot cross bun yesterday, but I added it to the app. (201 calories!)

Lovely sunshine here at last, so feeling good!
