Trump - fool in Netanyahu's hands
Hello all, I didnt manage to peek at all this week so hope you have been good. September that is worrying!
Morning Glass Yes, we've all been really really good and no bad things have passed our lips!

Hope you had a good time
welcome back
13 1/2
That's half a pound , not stone
Welcome back glass - hope you had a good break. Had to confess while you were away but we won't talk about that will we!!!
AlisonMA and I made a pact and supported each other - I firmly believe it worked and neither of us will admit that we were naughty!
I was hoping that I would hit the 150's this week but the scales think different and insist that I am 160.4lbs - how close and frustrating is that! However it is still a loss of 0.8lb so could be worse! Hope they don't take the flags emoticon away before the magic 15... appears as I will need them big time then!
Good luck to everyone else this week - go for it girls - and Alison I AM STILL WATCHING!!!
Jeni if you lose your 0.6 and I lose my 0.5 we can BOTH put the flags out
My first post on the weigh-in forum. Started the 5/2 diet last week and I've lost 4 and a half pounds. But I have got lots to lose. Trying really hard to stick with it as we're away this weekend with brother-in-law and wife and that's generally a boozy do. Any weight lost by Monday next week will be a real bonus. Fingers crossed.
Welcome Rosiebee good luck - we are all supportive of each other on this thread. You will be fine as glass keeps us focussed and we all slip at times but we all get back onto the wagon soon after.
Did lots of walking while I was on holiday and ate really well [refused to do much cooking while we were away and stuck rigidly to two or three small meals a day], but came home to find I'd lost no weight at all. I'm sure this is all a post menopause thing. Mind you, I'm still off bread, thank goodness, and in a positive frame of mind.
I've put on 2lbs, as the visit to my sister didn't turn out to be as righteous & healthy as I thought it would be!
This week will be tricky....I'm going to the Paralympics on Wednesday and Proms in the Park at Hyde Park on Saturday.
Rather than get all worked up about it, I'm just going to go with the flow without being daft. My Fitness Pal can have a week off and when I come back I'll start afresh.
Good luck everyone!
Sorry I have not been on but my internet has been down, I will reply later in the day 1 st day back at school and DGD first day in Reception.
Stayed the same this week .
However am not at all worried as
a) still mildly ecstatic after massive weight loss last week
b) still having great fun with my new favourite toy - my fitness pal
c) only one lb or so off my target weight, so here or hereabouts is fine with me
Hi all,
I have been fooling myself for some time that I look "okay" weightwise. I have not weighed myself for about 2 years. I have, in the last few years, hated having photographs taken of myself, for the obvious reason that I look overweight!
In my teens I was 7 and a half stone! Yes, I was too skinny, but I had been a skinny child. After my first child I weighed 8 and a half, after second child a further half stone went on and after third child another half stone. Still a very good weight for someone 5ft 4in. I stayed like this for some years. I was 10 and a half stone when my youngest was a teenager. I stayed like that for a while.
Now, since the menopause and stopping working I knew I had gained weight. Clue: - my clothes didn't fit and I was buying bigger sizes!
Today, I finally got on the scales.
THIRTEEN STONE!!! How did I let that happen!
So I have made the decision that I have to do something now. Can I join you ladies for moral support?
Thanks. x
Welcome Zena and Rosie hope you enjoy being here with some great losers and some who have to come on here and admit their shame ME! (Hiding from sba)
I have fallen off the wagon big time! Can I blame Glass for going off and leaving us? NO! Hope you had a good time Glass and achieved all you wanted to.
We had 4 days of family visits and it is the first time we have all been together for absolutely ages. I ate bread, birthday cake, cole slaw, cereal, apple crumble with custard and drank wine! MFP says I consumed 9077 calories in 7 days (1297 a day) and I am not going to admit how much I have put on.
Been to the gym today and am going to be good from now on, promise.
Sorry sba but it was worth it!
Gotcha Alison but you have to celebrate sometimes and my theory is that you may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb
!!!
If it makes you feel any better I sinned big time yesterday
- it was our 35th wedding anniversary. DH has booked us on a hot air balloon trip later in the month (no calories in that glass!) so as we both had the afternoon off I treated him to a 'big wheel' ride. We have one of the big wheel 'eye' things for about a month or so and with it being such a beautiful day the views were great.
The snag was that afterwards we went for a meal. I had been good having only had my Belvitas for breakfast and crispbread and a small piece of goats cheese for lunch.
We went to our local Beefeater where I had a jacket potato instead of chips with a 7oz steak and half a tomato. A small white wine spritzer was all I drank so I would have been fine if it wasn't for DH! (push the blame on someone else emoticon!)
He asked if I wanted a dessert - I didn't and could have refused until he said "OK I won't have one then!" He looked so dejected that I gave in and had apple crumble and ice cream
so that he could have his chocolate cheesecake!
MFP has Beefeater meals on their database but I couldn't believe the calorie count for the dessert
I was over my daily allowance by about 400 calories!
Hey ho! Back to the drawing board from today and with luck I won't have done too much damage ... climb back on the wagon Alison and good luck!!!
Hallo all, may I join in? Today I finally got the scales that DH bought earlier this year to work (they're the kind that need batteries and then display the figures, in kg, very blackly so that everyone in the room can see them). So far, every time I stood on them, absolutely nothing happened, but this time they came up with 64.2kg
. I don't want to translate it, partly because I can cope quite well with metric, and mostly because I know that that is far too much like 10st for comfort, considering my (lack of) height. No wonder my trousers are too tight. Good luck to all dieters, and I shall try to keep up, or should that be down?
sba humble apologies again. I don't think your little splurge will have done you any harm at all, You can definitely be ink monitor this week while I stay behind for detention.
I think I can be good this week but it is DH's birthday tomorrow. We are going to the cricket so I can take good' things with me but I expect he will want to go out to eat afterwards which will be a big temptation.
Wheni you are most welcome. I have those sort of scales but mine have a switch on the back to change from lbs/stones/kilos. I like them because they flash when they are sure of the correct weight. Our older ones varied depending on which way I leaned! A lot of us are using www.myfitnesspal.com to monitor exactly what we eat and we all seem to be big fans.
Alison
I hope the detention isn't too boring and you get time off for good behaviour! I've always wanted to be ink monitor too!
Welcome wheniwasyourage - isn't it lovely that we are getting so many new people joining our team of losers!
We are all in the same boat and encourage each other!
Some weeks are 'good' some 'not so good' but we all soldier on!
Anyone having a notsogood week 'there's ALWAYS room on our horses for two!!!' [GRIN]
Incidentally has anyone seen sewsilver recently as I don't remember seeing her 'log in' last week? She has been an inspiration to me so I hope all is ok.
I have lost 2 lbs. Not a lot I know, but at least it`s going in the
right direction.
Well done Vonnie , it is a nice feeling isn"t it when the old waistband is not quite so tight .
I lost 1lb
its all the humping I have done this last week, sand, gravel breeze blocks, even tried to run up the steep garden hill from the house to the caravan by the end of the day I had to drag myself up it never mind run.
I believe you ella
Well done jeni enjoy your holiday and dont give being good a thought while you are away.
sba
confession is good for the soul, and even a small loss is worth it.
rosie welcome to the thread good to see a new face, well done 4 1/2lb, let us know how your 5/2 diet goes.
crimson to get home from a holiday and not to have gained is a result, hope you enjoyed your holiday.

alison I totally believe that you have to hit a balance between being careful and living life to the full, you only live once so you have to enjoy it
sba Happy Anniversary to you and Mr Sba
35yrs together you have to celebrate
as I said to alison live your life and enjoy it!
whenIwas its good to see some new faces join the group adds more support for each other
Well done vonnie 2lb is a fantastic loss, it is a good feeling nonu when the waistband starts to float about.
Now where did I put that pencil sharpener................................
I'm doing the 5/2 diet and finding it surprisingly easy. What is really good is the thought that, although you might not be able to have "a decent meal" today if it's a fasting day, there's always tomorrow when things can be a little more relaxed. Another big benefit that I've discovered with it is that on my fasting days I feel really full of energy and healthy!
I have lost two pounds this week
Glassortwo , you have certainly covered all bases ! Like it
Stuck - too many visitors! Having a BBQ for the expat Forum here on Saturday too - about 40 coming = lots of wonderful food (they are bringing over!)
Hi all, what is the 5/2 diet please? does it mean eat for 5 days out of 7?
I am going on holiday on Saturday but will try very hard to keep to my good intentions!
