Hello all, I didnt manage to peek at all this week so hope you have been good. September that is worrying!

The BBC Horizon programme looked at diets that recommended some form of fasting. The scientist who was investigating, tried a diet where he ate normally for 5 days in a week and on the other 2 days he had a restricted calories intake of 600 calories [women -500]. In about 5 weeks he lost just over 5lbs and it seemed to have a good effect on his cholestral etc [sorry about the spelling] You can watch the programme on Youtube. I've been doing it for 10 days and I'm amazed that I've lost 6 and a half pounds so far. But I do have a lot to lose! Good luck smile

zengran this is an article that describes what it's all about:

Worth a try - I'm pleased with the way it's going!

Welcome to all the newbies and you will see that our guide and mentor glass is even nice to us when we have been very, very naughty! It helps and encourages us and helps when others are losing and I am not!

If anyone hasn't yet tried www.myfitnesspal.com, please give it a go as it really makes you understand what you are eating.

I am being repentant for last weekend and was even 'good' last night when we went out to celebrate DH's birthday. Less that 1100 calories yesterday! [smug emoticon]

A big welcome to our newcomers, great to see new faces!

I had an Olympic sized sinning day yesterday with lunch in a Mexican restaurant on the South Bank and 2012 fish and chips blush in the stadium later. However, we did walk for miles & miles and must have gone up or down several hundred steps, so maybe not too bad.

Have already put some info into the fitness pal!

Notso - I had a day in London yesterday too! Went to the V&A to see an exhibition there. Just a bowl of their carrot & coriander soup for lunch in their beautiful cafe (but lots of butter on the roll). Came home and collected fish and chips as I was back later than I expected - so not a very good day for me either sad
But today is a "fasting day" so all I've had so far is a small slice of melon for breakfast and a small bunch of grapes for lunch.
