Thanks, Moved, that's why I thought it didn't count, but it's nice to be reassured! You are quite right, too, about how much weight one can put on in a week or so. The feeling that one has put on half a stone just by looking at a box of chocolates is misleading!! There are good reasons why the richest food comes at the darkest time of year. Spring is for exercise and dieting.

Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year, everyone wine . See you next year, friends!

Movedalot Thu 20-Dec-12 13:44:47

When I think the salt just makes you retain fluid so you hadn't really put on weight. It is the season of goodwill so of course you can weigh whenever you like or not at all until 2013.

Have a great Christmas everyone and forget about your weight, plenty of time next year and anyway can you really put much on in a week or so? confused

Is it cheating to weigh in today, when I seem to have lost 400g, instead of Monday, when I seemed to have put on 600g confused? (Think Monday's result was because of the large Chinese take-away on Sunday night, which needed 3 mugs of water because it was so salty. Good though.) I was away on Tuesday and yesterday and being quite restrained. Of course, maybe the scales just don't work.

Thank you glass and everyone else who has been so encouraging, and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Jodi Wed 19-Dec-12 23:37:24

I may not be able to post again until the New Year - life's very complicated at the moment but 2013 should be a good year if all goes to plan.

So Happy Christmas to everyone, I hope no one is going to be lonely, and I wish you all the very best for the coming year wine smile moon

Morning ladies.
Just weighed myself as a damage limitation exercise before we go into Christmas . Hardly surprised to find that I have put on 1 1/2 lbs . Pre Christmas Dinner with Son and Mother, too many concerts - burning lots of adrenalin , but not enough calories- with no time to think about food etc so sandwiches etc on the hoof.

Well done to all of you who are still managing to lose - amazing !
I am back to slightly above my target weight , but as long as I don't go mad over Christmas am hoping to get back down afterwards asap in the New Year.
Certainly not going to agonise about it while having fun

Many thanks to Glass and everyone who keeps me on the straight and narrow.
Happy Christmas one and all smile

Notso wink

Glass Brilliant, are you fading away? You lose so much every week.

Phoenix Where did you go to learn 'old lady speak'? Don't go again, it doesn't suit you grin Oh, whatever........................

Notsogrand Tue 18-Dec-12 23:28:36

Moved, of course you are wished the very happiest Christmas! Up, down or sideways, we're all losers on this thread grin

glassortwo Tue 18-Dec-12 22:48:05

phoenix Just wear a long top and no-one will every notice grin

Anne58 Tue 18-Dec-12 22:06:43

It's only a slight "moistening" if I cross my legs firmly blush, I'm sure most would hardly notice! blush grin

Sbagran Tue 18-Dec-12 21:56:30

Sooo sorry Jodie meant to send a huge WELL DONE to you as well - superb to get into those jeans, mine are still waiting smile
grin Phoenix

Sbagran Tue 18-Dec-12 21:53:23

CONGRATULATIONS Glass that's an amazing result and soooooo deserved especially as you encourage us all so much! Really well done!!!
Moved I am sure Notso meant all of us - we have all lost some weight at some time over the weeks and I am sure that most, if not all, of us have gained on the odd occasion (I know I have!)
You, like all those lucky bunnies who have been on cruises and holidays should feel well chuffed at maintaining a steady weight!
We will all see less of each other in 2013 as the weight will drop off us all hmm grin
(Must go now my medication is due!)grin

Anne58 Tue 18-Dec-12 21:47:41

Only when I sneeze, darling!

glassortwo Tue 18-Dec-12 21:47:01

Anne58 Tue 18-Dec-12 21:38:20

Way to go, glass ! Respec' (oh dear, age alert!)

Of couse I mean "Congratulations on your achievement, dear."

(phoenix wanders off accompanied by a faint waft of lavender and other old lady smells......)

glassortwo Tue 18-Dec-12 21:34:39

Yesssssssssssssssss I have lost 2lb that's 1 stone 4 lb since the challenge started.

Challenge total 72.25

Movedalot Tue 18-Dec-12 17:53:06

Notso What about me? I've failed to be a 'loser' overall because of my long holiday and fun social life (ended up about the same as before hols). Do you wish me a happy Christmas too? grin wink I'm lovely too, honest!

glassortwo Tue 18-Dec-12 07:33:27

Jodi what an achievement before Christmas, I would have been jumping up and down. smile

This week 2.6

Challenge total 70.25

Jodi Tue 18-Dec-12 07:26:16

Very pleased, no delirious as another 1lb gone and managed to get onto my size 12 jeans yesterday grin.
Big help that I wasn't at home last week so had only myself to cook for.
Well done everyone else and here's hoping Christmas doesn't undo all the good work.

glassortwo Mon 17-Dec-12 20:35:32

sba Thank you for your good wishes.
phoenix your on a roll, well done.
move staying the same when alcohol is about is a great achievement.
notso I look forward to tomorrow.

I will get weighed tomorrow evening but the way I am feeling today I don't think I have lost anything but will wait and see.
My strategy for the holidays are to have Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day off and eat whatever I fancy and get back to my SW plan the rest of the holidays and hope I can maintain, what I dont want to do is throw away 1 stone 2lb that I have achieved in the last few weeks.

This week 1.6

Challenge total 69.25

Sbagran Mon 17-Dec-12 20:10:52

Hey Notso what brilliant thinking - I like your theory re not giving your system too much of a shock on Christmas Eve - good thinking!!! grin
I am so sorry - I meant to add a huge thank you to you into my first post (above) - you have stood in brilliantly when Glass has not been available for any reason. That is great for Glass to know she has 'an understudy' and great for all of us losers to have you keeping us focussed - thank you BOTH so much and Christmas flowers for you too!

Anne58 Mon 17-Dec-12 17:33:48

And to you! smile

Notsogrand Mon 17-Dec-12 16:59:11

I didn't weigh this morning as I wasn't at home.....back now, so I'll do it in the morning.

Like many others, I will be having a diet amnesty over Christmas & New Year. I was a bit concerned that if I suddenly started to eat delicious seasonal food on Christmas Eve, it would be too much of a shock to my system. So to be on the safe side, I started to gradually introduce a few treats from yesterday. grin

To all the very lovely losers on this thread, wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! smile

Movedalot Mon 17-Dec-12 09:54:59

Well done sba and phoenix you have both done well.

I am just the same as last week and am grateful for that at this time of year. I have decided it is not the calories in alcohol which put on weight but the fact that it takes away any resolution I had in the first place! grin

Glass I hope mum is OK and that you will keep us all informed.

Happy Christmas to you all. smile

Anne58 Mon 17-Dec-12 09:40:01

If the scales are right, I have lost 2lb shock grin !!!

Digby is out at present taking his morning constitutional, but looking at him spread out on the rug last night I have to say he isn't looking any slimmer.

He did have a burst of activity on Saturday afternoon, spurred into action over a slight dispute regarding ownership of a strand of tinsel, but somehow I don't think 10 minutes of going "cracker cat" and charging around like a small stripey cart horse will have had much effect on his weight.

Sbagran Mon 17-Dec-12 09:11:02

Morning all! Everyone did quite well last week - final surge now!
We were away visiting friends at the weekend - the MFP when I got back shot off the radar! Sadly our friends are not calorie conscious and our Saturday evening meal was served up for us to have on our laps - delicious pizza, quiche, oven chips with peas and sweetcorn! Very difficult though at times that that - however we had walked a lot and I had deliberately not had a lot all day in the hope of damage limitation! confused blush
Didn't weigh on my usual Sunday as we were still away but we went out for (sensible!) Sunday lunch. I waited until today to weigh - 153.2 - up 0.4 of a pound - phew! I expected more than that and will obviously be careful this week.
Like many others I will not worry over Christmas and new year.
You have a break Glass you deserve it after all your hard work for us all year round and also with your Mum being poorly. I will check my weight over the Christmas and new year period just to keep an eye but I am going to relax a bit. I am very close to my target and 2013 will be the year I get there, but for now as long as I don't go too mad I am happy to put a little on and enjoy myself.
Thank you Glass for everything Christmasflowers for you and your Mum.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all my fellow losers - see you all in the new year! grin{fgrin]grin
