Are we starting the challenge again?

glassortwo Sun 13-Jan-13 22:32:32

No it will be the 14th tomorrow but you know what I mean, hope it does not confuse people grin

mollie65 Mon 14-Jan-13 09:02:22

it is the 14th now!
weighed myself this morning and unless it was a trick of the light my weight was 9 st 1 lb grin - so lost a pound

how did I do it:

no more Christmas cake or chocolates
had a fasting blood test on Thursday morning so nothing for 12 hours!
more vegetables and fruit
1 extra walk with the dog (bit to cold to do more)

can I keep this up - I hope so.

Grannyeggs Mon 14-Jan-13 09:49:19

1pound down, expected more, but I am just glad to be going down. Good luck everyone.

Sbagran Mon 14-Jan-13 10:10:01

It is seems to be 'pound down week' as I have also lost one pound!
Like Mollie I can't understand it as I had a miserable week last week when I justified 'pigging out' by convincing myself the left over Christmas chocolates had to be used up! Biscuits, chocolates anything sinful was comfort food but it is time now to push the January blues away and start afresh!
I have given MFP a bit of a break as it was embarrassing how high the calorie total went blush and it was getting me down, but plan to get back to it this week and hopefully get rid of the extra weight I put on over Christmas and a pound a week will do me.
Good luck everyone - 'keep going' wishes to all 'us returners' and the very best of luck to all our newbies - isn't it great to have more members of Glass's Gang!
Many thanks as always to Glass for keeping us going - we all really appreciate your support and dedication flowers

No loss, but no gain either, which is quite surprising as I have eaten all the wrong things this weekend!

glassortwo Mon 14-Jan-13 10:30:56

mollie grannyeggs sba are you all in the 1lb club [smile, well done! But pound off is fantastic, keep that up and you could have a stone and possibly more off for Easter,(I need to check the date of Easter).

It is lovely to see new names joining us. smile

This weeks total loss 3lb

Great start grin

Anne58 Mon 14-Jan-13 10:36:42

Good Friday is the 29th March

janeainsworth Mon 14-Jan-13 10:51:58

Down .3kg to 65kg.
I think that's about half a pound so not much of a contribution to the joint effort [embarrassed]
On the other hand done quite a bit of walking and went to Zumba on Thursday so maybe put some muscle on ???

Nonu Mon 14-Jan-13 10:57:01

I am in the pound club also , 3 off since last Monday .

Mind you having a good old bash at Dry January , sure helps !

Grannyeggs Mon 14-Jan-13 11:15:00

Me too with the dry January thing*Nonu*, but have Book club meeting at my house tonight, and someone is bringing champagne to celebrate someone's 60th birthday, so ....hmm just one?

glassortwo Mon 14-Jan-13 11:20:29

11 weeks to Easter.

phoenix at least its not a gain wink

jane & nonu well done, the first week back after Christmas is always difficult to get into a routine when all the goodies are still lying around.

I am having dry weeks and a glassortwo on a weekend.

This weeks total 4.5lb

Nonu Mon 14-Jan-13 11:30:07

Grannyeggs , go on , any way does champagne count .

laugh .

Glassortwo , GOOD for you .

smile

gracesmum Mon 14-Jan-13 12:02:14

Looking at previous threads "Do pensioners sit down and watch too much TV" (Yes) "Blue Monday " (yes) - 2 lb ON says it all sad Memo to self, tape up mouth smile

Notsogrand Mon 14-Jan-13 12:45:53

Well I'm a bit disappointed because I've stayed the same. Have gone back onto very low carb intake which usually gives a good loss for the first few weeks. There were a couple of celebration days at the beginning of the week, so only 5 days really of low carbs. Must try harder and need to re-check carb values.

Well done to all the losers, and I love the concept of Glass's Gang! smile

Nonu Mon 14-Jan-13 13:01:30

Have you tried My Fitness Pal ? it gives calorific content of all foods .

Helped me a great deal . DD put me on to it . She has lost 4stone in 3 months . What a good girl , so proud of her .

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 13:43:31

I've just checked on MVP. Water has zero calories!

jeni Mon 14-Jan-13 13:43:54

Should be mfp

gillybob Mon 14-Jan-13 14:07:21

Me too glass. Have been very good too. No drinking on a school night and making up for it a glass or two on a weekend. So far so good. Probably shouldn't have bought that case of Red at Aldi on Saturday, too much like temptation! smile

crimson Mon 14-Jan-13 14:15:14

66k. Still getting no proper exercise. Have started writing down everything I eat; that way I won't eat a chunk of cheese late at night, hopefully.

Sbagran Mon 14-Jan-13 15:13:44

Crimson - if you haven't already done so try My Fitness Pal - you enter in what you eat or plan to eat each day and it calculates how many calories you have left to pig out on treat yourself so you may well find that you can have your evening chunk of cheese!
I like my low cal drinking choc most evenings and possibly also my 4 pieces of plain choc so I enter it in at the beginning of the day and those calories are then already counted. It's the same as writing everything down but with the added bonus of not having to add up the calories. Good luck!

Marelli Mon 14-Jan-13 15:29:38

My new scales are terrible blushsad. I realise that the old scales were leading me to believe I was about 5 pounds lighter than I really am, so I'm dealing with this, and want to lose half a stone. hmm

glassortwo Mon 14-Jan-13 19:43:56

notso keep at it you know it works you will see the difference next week.

crimson looking on the positive side you have maintained so thats a great achievement it means you have halted your gain, hopefully you will start to move towards a loss. Lots on here use MFP and it does help, why not give it a try.

nonu can you clarify what your loss was, I have taken a 1lb on your comment but re-reading your post I think you mean you have lost 3lb smile sorry for being so dense.

marelli draw a line and make the new scales your correct weight and forget about the old figure grin ( no pun intended) and see what next week brings.

This weeks total 4.5 lb

baubles Mon 14-Jan-13 21:04:53

2lb down for me smile

I've just cut out all the cake & chocolate and I'm using the My Fitness Pal app.

glassortwo Mon 14-Jan-13 21:18:28

Hey way to go baubles well done grin

This weeks total 6.5lb
