Marelli Wed 20-Feb-13 09:53:42

I've read all of the '5:2 Diet Book' and decided it's not for me. I'll just stick with what I know too, glass and Notso. I think my portion sizes have been a wee bit generous hmm!
Not pleasant thought....but I think All-Bran in the morning is a good help to me! I've not been using it for a while and have noticed the difference blush!

Notso Wed 20-Feb-13 09:22:37

Came across this....200 calories worth of a range of foods....

glassortwo Wed 20-Feb-13 08:34:57

when sorry I had copied your results down to the comments to save me scrolling up and down and then I had not commented on your post, keep at it giving up all that chocolate for Lent will give you some good results. wink

glassortwo Wed 20-Feb-13 08:32:19

Wow Galen 2 1/4 lbs hey well done, are still doing the 5:2?
when +300g
grannyeggs holidays are for enjoying so you have to enjoy everything smile
marelli it works for a lot reading the other thread , my sister bought me the book but I think i will stay with what I know, as it works when I use it properly. Unlike this week I gained 1/2lb.
sba 1/2lb is such a slight movement dont worry you have done well to maintain over your break. smile
jane I consider maintaining a bonus when you have not been a good as you should be.
tegan you must have shifted some somewhere to be able to get your jeans on, it may have been the scales. smile
notso I did the same when I lost a huge amount I think you loose the plot for a while and become bored with having to take care of everything you eat, but it brings it home to you how easily the weight can slip back on when it takes a huge effort to take it off.
But getting back to basics will give you the results you are looking for, we will both start with a clean sheet as I need 1/2 a stone off for a wedding I am going to in April and the dress I had worn for a previous wedding last year is a bit neat, and as no one saw the once worn dress I refuse to buy another so the 1/2 stone has to come off...... But I intended starting this morning and have had toast and granny23 apricot jam shock... so thats my finish from now I am being good!!!
mrshat once you get onto the treat treadmill its so hard to jump off, come on join notso and I and get under that weight again.

grannyK well done, try being good weekdays and allow yourself to cheat a little on a weekend and that will probably be enough to maintain.

This week 1.25lb
Total to date 2 stone 10.75lb

GrannyK Tue 19-Feb-13 16:30:56

Hip hurrah ! grin

58 kilos , spot on . This being my target weight , I am very very happy.
(Did achieve it briefly before Christmas, but obviously wasn't going to stay there during the festive eating season )

Happy to report that am now back down there
All thanks to mfp plus the knowledge that I will be reporting on here weekly. (Didn't manage it last week , cos ill -yet again. Feeling better and back at work where I weigh myself on Tuesdays)

Now it is just a question of staying at this weight , staying well and staying happy ! Simples

mrshat Tue 19-Feb-13 11:12:36

Afraid I gained 1lb this week. Annoyed with myself as I knew I was 'treating' too much. Instead of being under the 13stone as expected this week I am now 13st 1.5lb. Good luck everyone! hmm

Marelli Tue 19-Feb-13 09:44:19

I was wondering how you'd got on with the 5:2 diet, Notso. I've lost a good bit of weight by just eating less of everything, but now I just seem to be stuck. I bought the book yesterday, but like you, might see the Feast Days as Gutsy Days! I do need a kick up the proverbial though, to get me going again. hmm

Notso Tue 19-Feb-13 08:33:35

Hope you had a good play day yesterday glass, did you get a bit of sunshine?

I need to get a grip on my weight, so I'm digging deep here ladies. Having lost quite a bit, I hit a plateau by late summer last year and for a few months just bobbed up and down within a few pounds. More ups than downs though.

I tried low carb before and after Christmas. All that meat, cheese & butter was lovely and I initially lost a bit but couldn't keep it up, it just didn't suit me.

Then I tried the 5/2 diet. I could stick to 500 cals for the 2 fasting days ok, but on the other 5 'eat anything' days I took it quite literally. Within days I was 'hooked' again on all the stupid fat foods I used to eat way back. (No discipline!)

As a result, I'm now back to the weight I was in February LAST year, having gained a stone from the lowest I eventually reached in August. Pathetic isn't it? I'm so angry with myself. Having got rid of all my fat clothes I now only have 2 pairs of trousers I can get into, but I WILL NOT buy bigger ones again.

Anyway, time to start again. As from yesterday I decided to back to what I know works......eat a lot less and move a lot more.

So can I start again with a clean slate please?

glassortwo Tue 19-Feb-13 08:16:31

Good morning all well done to those who are doing ok and {{{hugs}}} for those that need it, I will read it all later as I am off to the farm with all the DGC and gillybob so we are in for a fun day sunshine and need to get sorted.
