24...25.....it's only a number glass smile

I don't care if it's March the eleventeenth, because I've lost 2lbs. Whoop! After several weeks of being stuck,my weight has finally decided to give in and start going backwards again. About bloomin time!

Good luck everyone! Don't give up!

Grannylin Mon 25-Mar-13 09:00:24

A week after hip op, hospital food and lots of cakes and chocolates at home, I'm quite pleased I've only put on 1kg.to 65.5.Then again it could just be the weight of the new hip grin

Sbagran Mon 25-Mar-13 12:13:33

Glass you are not the only one losing the plot!
I have had a funny week involving a short bout of d and v followed by a day and a half of dry toast.
I weighed yesterday and came out at exactly 160lbs. On my chart it means a loss of 0.2lb! Disappointing but better than might have been with all that bread followed by whatever I fancied as the miseries set in sad
Then when I recorded my weight on My Fitness pal I had recorded 161.2 last week (my chart says 160.2!) so shows a loss of 1.2lb - confused - you will be!!!
Whatever way round I am now 160 Glass (weight not age!)

Movedalot Mon 25-Mar-13 12:21:49

Grannylin must be the wieght of the hip, I'm sure they are very heavy.... grin

Well done the losers. I'm the same again but have just been to physio (finally, after 3 months!) and been told I should try to get moving again.

Out to lunch today and will really try to be good but no promises!

Tegan Mon 25-Mar-13 12:40:20

Didn't manage to do much walking last week due to the weather but did eat quite healthily and avoided bread most days [bought some soda bread as we were planning to go to Kelso for the racing on Saturday, but it was cancelled]. 63kg [which I think is what I was before I went away] which is disappointing but, as I spent most of the week curled up on the sofa reading a book isn't surprising. Are you feeling a lot better Moved?

glassortwo Mon 25-Mar-13 12:55:34

This week 4.2lb
Challenge total 3stone 11lb 7oz

Do you think we can make it 4stone for our Easter challenge?

GrannyK Tue 26-Mar-13 10:12:48

Very pleased as have stayed same weight this week again
Really no intention of losing any more , though would quite like to " firm up" some of the areas which look slim but a bit saggy ! Need to investigate the exercise situation - Pilates once a week is set in stone, but until I can rely on doing some weekly gardening ( certainly not in this weather ! ) there's not much else happening in terms of physical activity ...... Hmmmmm. Food for thought .

glassortwo Tue 26-Mar-13 10:16:39

How about swimming grannyk that seems to do an all over tone up.

nanaej Tue 26-Mar-13 10:19:11

Hi my first weigh in! I managed to lose 1 1/2 lbs.. not fantastic for a first week but better than nothing but I am spurred on to better this week!! have a couple of family 'get togethers' over Easter so need to 'plan' for those!

I must also set up some regular exercise as like others gardening not much of an option at the moment!

glassortwo Tue 26-Mar-13 10:29:43

nanaej thats a great start smile I think when we know that we have things in the pipeline we can plan ahead, its when things get throw in at the last minute that its more difficult.

This week 5.9lb
Challenge total 3stone 13lb

Oh its looking promising for the 4 stone smile

Galen Tue 26-Mar-13 11:41:27

Movedalot Tue 26-Mar-13 15:16:31

Thanks for the interest Tegan. I'm a bit more mobile but still can't be upright for long before I'm in pain. Physio seemed surprised at how fit I am apart from this bit and seemed to think I should wear an orthotic in my shoe to even up me leg lengths. Am reluctant to do this as I had polio 60 years ago which caused it but if I start messing with it now it could make things worse! Bought some knee pads today so I can do the kneeling type gardening when the thaw starts. Think I might rejoin the gym and see what I can do without standing for long. Bike? Rowing?

Tegan Tue 26-Mar-13 15:39:11

Oh dear; slow progress Moved sad. I found that having a hot water bottle on my knees last week made them [and me] feel a lot better. Might be worth trying the orthotics? I find wearing totally flat shoes make my knees hurt. glass; it was too cold to move far last week; spent a lot of time on the sofa and [this is so sad] we tended to make a flask of tea in the afternoon and go and sit in the car watching the waves at various places[Craster was quite dramatic one afternoon]. It's soo what old people do blush. Hope they sort the boat out that's ran aground on the Farnes; will be a disaster for the local birds if it breaks up. We're up again at the end of August so a meet up then would be lovely [might have stopped snowing by then!].

Galen Tue 26-Mar-13 16:02:30

moved is this post polio syndrome?
