galen how about giving the 2/3 a try grannylin has tried it this week and has lost 600g, here are a couple of tips that I posted last week for her.

I would try to limit your bread and cereal, so if having cereal in the morning avoid bread for the rest of the day, or have yoghurt and fruit for breakfast then use your 2 slices of bread (try to only have 2 slices from a small 400g wholemeal loaf)for a sandwich at lunchtime.
Use your plate and divide into thirds have your protein on one third and try to fill your other 2/3 with veg, you can have potato but I would limit it to a small amount.
So in one day have 1 portion of cereal (good guide is 2 weetabix or 35g of porridge).
Have your daily milk allowance is 350mm skimmed, 250mm semi, 175mm whole.
Obviously no cakes or biscuits, snack on fruit and drink lots of water, this can be in the form of fruit teas, green tea etc, sugar free juice or plain water.

When cooking dont use oil try fry light spray, or grill any lean meat you have, (trim off any visible fat). Try to avoid ful fat mayo etc.
These are just some basics, but should help.

Its worth a try smile

I've been doing all that!

Grannylin Wed 17-Apr-13 15:33:06

Galen I should also add that I've started using Nordic walking poles and making myself do a bit more exercise every day-I'm sure this has made a difference. I realise this isn't an option for you and it must be really frustrating just relying on cutting down on food.x

Galen Wed 17-Apr-13 15:58:37

Quite! I've even tried using weights but it just flares up my arthritis in my shoulders.
The only time I lose weight is if I'm in hospital, mainly because the food is totally I edible!

Galen Wed 17-Apr-13 15:59:06

Inedible!

Hello - sorry I'm late again. Stayed the same I'm afraid. Need new batteries for my scales (I think) - results are all over the place, so I am taking the middle weight over 3 consecutive days!! hmm

Grannyeggs Thu 18-Apr-13 21:23:04

I have lost a couple of pounds of the weight I had put on in the last few weeks, but am not downtown what I was 6 weeks ago! Don't think that counts as weight loss. sad

glassortwo Thu 18-Apr-13 21:29:12

mrshat our scales are doing the same, I need to get some new batteries, I would have gone for the miiddle too, wink pity I couldnt blame my gain on the scales as I was weighed in class.
grannyeggs I will claim that 2lb. well done on getting back in focus. smile

This weeks total 3.25lb

Can I join please? I really would like to get down to 10 stone by the time we take DGD away to Majorca for a week at the end of July. I weigh 11 1/2 stone now.

Sbagran Sun 21-Apr-13 14:41:34

Hi Ceesnan!
You will be more than welcome to join us - look out later this evening or even tomorrow morning when Glassortwo starts the new weekly thread - it will probably be called 'Monday 22nd April Weigh-in' We don't have to disclose our current weight - a lot don't - but we do 'admit' to gains or losses and how much!
We are a friendly bunch on this thread - when someone has a great result we all congratulate them to keep them going - when someone has had a less than successful week (which VERY often happens) we all rally around and give loads of encouragement and advice.
Glassortwo is amazing and faithfully records the running total of all our gains and losses and encourages us all.
I am sure she will add her welcome to you and explain more but if you need any help or support we are all here for each other on this thread.
Personally I weigh at home every Sunday morning and 'report in' on Mondays but everyone weighs at different times and days with their attendance at various classes (Slimming World, Weightwatchers etc) so the thread runs all week.
I don't go to any classes but I do try and go to the gym regularly and I swear by 'My Fitness Pal' which keeps me on track. Just Google 'My Fitness Pal' and they will take you through the steps - it is totally free and it adds up all your calories etc and tells you if you are over your calorie need - or better still, it tells you that you are not eating enough! I also have a weight chart on the side of the fridge and record my weekly weigh-in hopefully watching it move nearer the floor - however a few weeks ago it shot off the top of the fridge when I had a bad few weeks grin You do whatever suits you!
Keep in touch and good luck flowers

glassortwo Sun 21-Apr-13 20:03:30

cessnan it would be great to have you join us. smile

I think sba has just about covered most things, I will put the new thread up probably just before I go to bed (I had better remember tonight as we have no electric from 9am till 5 for electrical works in the area) in case there are any early birds who want to register their loss or gain before I have had time to set it up.
You dont have to post your weight unless you want to, just your loss/gain. We all use different methods so just do what you feel happy with, everyone gets weighed on different days so the thread runs from Monday to Sunday to give everyone a chance to weigh in. We are not experts just give each other support.
Use the thread in any way that you want, post recipes or if you come across something which you think could be useful to others, to shout from the rooftops or to cry on someones shoulder if need be. Good luck you will have that shifted no problem. sunshine
