Sounds fun Maniac where abouts is it? I have a vision of taking our WI on an outing

These things are all over China and very popular with all age groups. Having often tried them I'm not too sure about the quality of the exercise but they will be better than nothing ! Perhaps a Physio will disagree with my perceptions. My 4yr old DGS certainly thinks they are good fun - even the ones he is too small for - and of course there are no Health and Safety notices to spoil his fun !

Ive seen that one. But as ever it is designed for big blokes. All the equipment is far too big for me to use.

I reckon that sounds fun Maniac . Fortunately I am big MiceElf (I do love your name, so clever) so the equipment should be okay for me. Shame that you should have to miss out though

I think there is something so contrived and self-righteous about them. It is not that I am not up for behaving in a silly fashion. I was bouncing up and down on a huge bouncy cushion with DGS this weekend and on holiday loved going down the flumes at the swimming pool, but playgrounds for seniors just sets my teeth on edge.

FlicketyB I understand your comments but I'm actually impressed with Age UK. I host tea parties for the elderly and isolated and most participating are 80+. But they have a wide net: tomorrow I am doing one of their GO50 walks, this is in Surrey where there is a comprehensive walks programme, most days, for all abilities 2-10 miles with volunteer leaders plus Nordic Walking and off road biking. You've got to be fairly fit for some of them but you choose - but it's all about keeping and encouraging fitness, getting out there and joining in with others. They are worth checking out.

I don't understand why they have to call them 'playgrounds'. Why not fitness equipment? #patronising

Crikey. I am standing, bent over laughing at this j08. No, I don't understand 'playgrounds' either. Tell you what, I'll do this walk tomorrow and tell you if it felt patronising. It does seem to me though Age UK are trying. Personally, I can't believe I am going to an Age UK organised walk - if there are a proliferation of zimmer frames, bobble hats, overt cheeriness, I'll let you know. You will think it's a great idea. Otherwise, I want an address and I'm getting you on the next one
