Hi all, I have a wedding and a holiday in September and I would really like to get in better shape - I was wondering if anyone has somehow managed to give up refined sugar and if so what were the effects?! Thank you grin

Is there a basic diet sheet for oldies anywhere? I want to lose weight I have gained since having my gall bladder out. I have cut out sugar I can control, ie cakes and biscuits etc also changed to sunflower oil, eat plenty of fruit and veg, cut out pork and fatty meat such as lamb, eat chicken breast only in small quantities also changed to brown bread. What else can I do? Any ideas? Am I doing anything I should not be doing?

I think wheat is worse than sugar. I go through phases of not eating it at all and it makes such a difference to my appetite, those hunger pangs just disappear. It also cuts out loads of sugar as it rules out most cakes, biscuits, puddings etc. Just be careful not to fill up on rice or spuds instead. I do get bored though eventually and start longing for fresh crusty bread.

Someone in my house at the moment, someone who actually knows everything there is to know in the whole wide world, tells me your brains runs entirely on sugar.

So glad. Went to Xmas Fair yesterday.

yorkshire I wouldn't bother with a diet sheet. Do you want to lose weight too? If so, get yourself a fitbit or log onto MFP and start logging and counting.
