Hello everyone... my very first post! Joined WW on Wednesday but I'm struggling to understand the programme Must have my Slimming World head on I guess as I've followed that on and off for many years Can anyone give me advice please!

GrandmaMoira Fri 28-Apr-17 20:42:39

I lost 3 stone with WW a couple of years ago and found it easy to follow. There are different options of counting points or eating from a list of allowed foods. You are also allowed a daily treat or can save up treats for the week maybe for a meal out. I enjoyed the weekly meetings and got it free as a referral from my GP. The problem as others have said is keeping it off.

cheslseababy, I am joining this coming Saturday, I am really ready for it, we have a few things coming up and just want to feel better in myself for losing that excess weight.

Good luck Kim. I got back from a week away on Friday and not back on track yet. My weigh in is on Tuesday evening so damage limitation today and tomorrow!

I just joined WW online as I do not have time for meetings, I love the app, so easy to chart what you eat and it keeps a record for you of how many points you have used and how many you have left each day, so much easier than counting all those calories in the past. All you have to do is put in after each meal what you have eaten and it converts it all for you.

Membership is also very reasonable price for online only, and you still have access to receipes, advice etc.

Hardcore? Maybe you'd like the Low-carb & Oven cleaning threads hmm

I did it, I joined WW on Saturday, the plan seems to be a lot better now than previous years, I am looking at it as healthy eating and not a diet, it's amazing how may smart points you would spend in the likes of Costa on a coffee & lemon muffin, not good. However I am focused!! Hilltopgran, I need the support of meetings but have access to online and like you the app is my saviour, also the live chat is brilliant too. The main thing chelseababy is get that weigh in out the way tonight & carry on as you have been.

Not too bad - I lost half a pound - but I took my cardigan off so probably stayed the same really! Onwards and downwards. Do keep posting fellow WWs.

Kim0612 Wed 10-May-17 10:20:02

Half a pound is still a loss, add it to what you have already lost & it soon adds up. Well done!!

chelseababy Fri 12-May-17 09:10:36

How are you getting on Bobsy and ilovecheese? I'm finding it best to just have fruit for breakfast, soup for lunch so I can save most points for the evening when I'm home.

Hilltopgran Fri 12-May-17 10:16:39

I have managed to stay within my points and not needed to use all the weekly ones so far, but only 10 days in but lost 3lbs, which for me is amazing. Hope I can stick with it.

Kim0612 Fri 12-May-17 11:16:13

Well done Hilltopgran that's brilliant, I have my weigh tomorrow after a week in on the diet, I am hoping I have lost because I have stuck to it & stayed within my points, I shall use my weekly points for a Saturday or Sunday treat.

chelseababy Fri 12-May-17 11:50:00

Well done hilltopgran. I've just bought an M&S meal for two - horrified when I found the points for Haddock Florentine (17) and the tiramasu an unsurprising 11! The moral is point before you buy/eat! We soup for lunch I think!

chelseababy Sat 13-May-17 15:00:39

How did it go Kim? We are entertaining tonight but think the menu should be ok. It's a murder mystery and the two other couples are bringing dessert.....so that could be my downfall!

Kim0612 Mon 15-May-17 10:41:45

I lost 5lb, I was absolutely gobsmacked as they say, I have eaten really well too, I kept thinking along the ways that I hoped I was doing it right, I know that won't be happening every week. I was so chuffed, it spurs you on when you have a loss. I like the dine in for £10 in M&S so the WW app will come in handy for that.

Hilltopgran Mon 15-May-17 11:47:38

Wow that is fantastic Kim, well done. I find the app really helpful, so easy to keep track of points which really helps.

chelseababy Mon 15-May-17 13:00:26

Well done Kim what a fantastic start. I agree the app is great. I think the Count On Us range have the we points on as do Sainsburys Be Good to Yourself. Will have to suggest to M&S that they include some in their Dine In selection.

Kim0612 Mon 15-May-17 13:08:45

We had one of the chicken dishes from the dine in range, that came out at 6 points, it was really tasty too, sadly no doubt the desserts would come out quite high, still if you can have them out of your weekly's then it would be worth a treat now & again. I love that you can find loads of recipes for WW online & on the app, I think if the variety is there it keeps you more focused.

chelseababy Mon 15-May-17 13:18:14

We had the parma ham chicken breasts (stuffed with borsin instead of blue cheese) on Saturday and several guests remarked how nice it was. That was on the app and very easy.

Kim0612 Tue 16-May-17 10:36:34

I have seen that recipe, I like anything like that, I did the chicken chasseur off the app & that was really tasty too. When is everybody's next weigh in?

chelseababy Wed 17-May-17 08:32:43

Mine was yesterday. Half a pound off - bit disappointed but then i did over indulge a bit on Saturday. Half a pound of lard is what i am imagining!

Kim0612 Wed 17-May-17 10:43:57

chelseababy, half a pound off is better than on or staying the same, add it to your on going total and it will soon mount up, it just goes to show also that you can socialise, enjoy your food and lose weight. I am out on Friday night with the girls, I have already had a look online to see what's on the menu and will be driving so hopefully the scales will be kind to me on Saturday morning.

chelseababy Thu 25-May-17 07:25:36

How's it going fellow WWs ? I lost 1 pound at weigh in on Tuesday. So am averaging a pound a week which I'm fine with. Hope I can keep that up for 5 more weeks till I go on holiday.

Kim0612 Thu 25-May-17 10:28:44

I lost a 1lb also on Saturday, as long as it keeps coming off until I get to my goal I will be happy.

Hilltopgran Thu 25-May-17 18:16:12

Yes, 1lb for me as well which I am pleased about as we had guests to a meal during the week. I made the smoked salmon filled with low fat soft cheese mixed with herbs and grated lemon, served with asapargus spears which was very well received, no one realised it was a WW receipe!
