Hello everyone... my very first post! Joined WW on Wednesday but I'm struggling to understand the programme Must have my Slimming World head on I guess as I've followed that on and off for many years Can anyone give me advice please!

Pippa000 Fri 26-May-17 05:30:54

I did WW many years ago and lost 5 stone, as it was a very easy programme to follow. Unfortunately in the intervening years bad habits and a change of job with foreign travel and lots of corporate entertaining got in the way, so back came the weight. No WW near where we live in Wales but have started with SW with DiL. However I still have the WW recipe books which are very easily converted to SW programme and lovely recipes. So far 4 stone off !! Doing SW on line at the moment as in Cyprus for a few months.

Wow, Pippa that's fantastic, well done. The hardest part is keeping it off, I lost 46lb when I did it the first time 20 years ago, I only have about 16lb to lose this time but I am determined to keep to the good eating habits, I try and look at it as healthy eating rather than a diet. Also well done Hilltopgran, another 1lb in the right direction.

Just found this thread. I have lost 33.5 lbs since January 10th. Still another 5 stone to lose but I am determined to do it.

Well done everyone and welcome Kacee. The salmon recipe sounds lovely Hilltop, might give that a go. Was going to have a pork chop tonight but its 19 points!

Morning everybody, I have lost another 1 1/2lb, I am enjoying the plan, I did the roasted cod only used haddock instead & that was really nice too, only 3 SP. Well done Kacee, that's brilliant, keep up the good work.

chelseababy Tue 30-May-17 20:16:29

Well done Kim. I lunch st 2lb this week. Was pleased as have had a couple of BBQs - mostly lean meat and veg - been careful with booze too. G&T instead of wine.

Kim0612 Wed 31-May-17 11:08:47

Yay, well done chelseababy, it's going really well for you too. I get really nervous when I get on the scales, I never look & just wait for them to say what the result is. Sometimes I can't believe that I am losing weight with what I am eating, it all seems to be going in one direction for all of us.

Kacee Wed 31-May-17 12:16:38

WW weigh in yesterday. Lost 1.5 lbs which takes me to 2.5 stone lost exactly.. DD is doing Slimming World and she has now lost half a pound more than me. I would say that she seems to eat much more than me but looses the same.
I still have 5 stone left to go ?

chelseababy Wed 31-May-17 15:41:29

I have joined to weightwatchers smart points uk Facebook page. There are a lot of members who have abandoned SW in favour of WW. (Probably a lot have gone the other way too)

Kim0612 Thu 01-Jun-17 10:52:03

I have just requested to join that one too, also there is Weight Watchers Chatter ... UK.

Kim0612 Sun 04-Jun-17 10:12:18

Another 1 1/2lb off for me?

chelseababy Mon 05-Jun-17 16:41:56

Well done Kim. Which of the FB pages do you prefer? Do you use Connect on the WW app?

Kim0612 Wed 07-Jun-17 15:03:20

I do have a glance at the Connect, I also like the Chatter one that you recommended, are you on either?

LadyGracie Wed 07-Jun-17 15:20:30

I joined SW 5 weeks ago, weigh in later today. In the first four weeks I've lost 10lbs, it's great, just eat normally, lots of veg and fruit. Smaller portions of pasta, rice and potatoes, lots of lean meat.

Kim0612 Wed 07-Jun-17 15:32:22

That's brilliant LadyGracie, you must be so chuffed, it's great to feel a sense of achievement.

LadyGracie Wed 07-Jun-17 17:17:44

Thanks Kim, another 1 1/2lb this week, being weighed every week definitely gives you incentive. And I had a Costa lemon muffin on Monday - 22 syns!

Kim0612 Thu 08-Jun-17 10:37:24

I love those muffins, they are probably the reason I am at WW come to think of it, I think they are 18 pts in WW terms. I never look at the scales when I am weighed, I just keep my fingers crossed that there will be a loss, but as you say being weighed weekly does keep you on track to succeed.

chelseababy Fri 23-Jun-17 18:39:31

How's everyone getting on? The last two weigh ins I've lost half a pound each week. I think I need to try some new recipes to keep me motivated. Only one more weigh in before my holiday then I'll miss three weeks.

Kim0612 Mon 26-Jun-17 10:18:16

Hello, I have now lost 4 more pound since our last chat, just 2lb to get to my goal now. Half a pound is better than staying the same so well done you. I would really like to get to goal this week as we are away next week but it's a big ask really.

chelseababy Mon 26-Jun-17 13:35:50

You never know Kim you might do it. Are you going to keep going once you get to goal? That's always been my downfall - get to goal and then stop going and before you know it back to square one.

Kim0612 Mon 26-Jun-17 16:59:17

I am going to keep going, there are some Ladies at my group who have been at goal for 7 years and 9 years so will take a leaf out of their book, I don't want to be here again trying to lose weight so will keep going, I also go with my DIL when her shift allows it as she is a Nurse, I will keep supporting her. Probably like you, I feel better for losing the weight, my clothes fit better so it would be a shame to go back to square one to have to do it all again.

LadyGracie Mon 26-Jun-17 17:24:47

A fortnight ago I'd lost 13lbs, I didn't weigh last week I was on holiday, I was good on the whole apart from a couple of cakes, a few ice creams, fish and chips etc etc.

However, because we walked so much and it was so hot when I weighed myself the day after I got home I weighed the same as before I left! Maybe all the goodies will catch up with my pear shaped body and settle on my derrière for weigh in on Wednesday!

Watch this space. If anyone is at all interested that is!

Kim0612 Tue 27-Jun-17 10:48:00

LadyGracie, that's brilliant, fingers crossed for Wednesday!!

LadyGracie Wed 28-Jun-17 19:01:30

Well I lost another 1/2 lb making it 13 1/2 lbs, I'm very happy after all I ate last week, I forgot about the wine and chocolates.

It's really well worth going Kim0612 I go with my daughter she's trying to lose her baby weight, I want a smaller bottom! grin

chelseababy Wed 28-Jun-17 21:13:02

I lost another pound making it 10 in 10 weeks so we are all proof that it works.
