Hi everyone. I am desperate to lose 2 stone and have been advised to try a low carb diet. I'm hopeless at staying motivated and on track. Does anyone have a meal plan I can follow to begin with to try to help me get started please.

Hi kazzerb and welcome. The Diet Doctor site has a 14 day meal plan and the Mumsnet low-carb bootcamp recipe threads are always good.
Our basic regime consists of full-fat yoghurt, nuts and berries for breakfast, omelette, soup or salad (with egg, cheese or meat) for lunch and then meat, egg-based or fish dishes with above-ground vegetables or salad for dinner.
Today we are having a smoky cauliflower, cream and cheese omelette for lunch and lemon chicken with greek salad for dinner.
I have had a look at some other meal plans but they seem to have a lot of sugar substitutes which I am not keen on.
Hope this helps.

Mamie. Thank you for that. I have spent so much time comparing sites, recipies and plans that I feel I am overthinking it and confusing myself and so not getting started. I'll look for the bootcamp threads now. Thank you again.

It sometimes helps to post what you are planning on eating and then we can add ideas. ?

I hope all my fellow low-carbers are well! I got down to 9.3 at the beginning of the year and maintaining between 9.3 and 9.6, which suits me.

I'm continuing with daily brisk walking and MFP to log intake.

How is everyone doing?

Mamie maybe you could start a new thread with 2018 in the title to encourage low-carbers and any newbies who'd like to join us! smile

Good! After 6 months of house surfing, suitcase living, varying kitchens and not being organised, I need to get back on track. New minute kitchen will take some getting used to ?

Ah glad you are settled now. OH and I would kill each other in a small kitchen. ?
See you on the new thread.

I have just finished week one and lost 2 pounds which I am quite chuffed about. It’s been a struggle. I am trying to keep within 1200 cals while still lchf but feeling very tired. My body doesn’t seem to be adjusting....sleeping for Scotland! Any one else noticed this?
