You can set your own ‘frugal’ guidelines but the aim is to eat and drink in a more restrained (and healthy) manner that usual just for 28 days.
I did this last year and lost those few extra pounds that nobody wants. For those who have more than a few pounds to shift it can kick start a real weight loss plan for 2018.
It can be combined with 16:8 and any other ‘diets’ you are following.
So, anyone out there want to join in for 28 days and we’ll share ideas and support each other? ?
31 Jan: ate up the biscuits in the tin ready for today. 1 Feb: Have started. No more Portuguese tarts from the Coop bakery, Twirls, biscuits . Today: 7.45am home-made sugar free nut and seed mixture for breakfast. 12.30pm: Main meal 5.00pm: A bowl of home-made fresh fruit salad Will have an apple at bedtime. 7.30pm: Craving a choc Hob Nob Might be better to have the apple after the fruit salad so that there is a 15 hour fast. Determined to shift 8 pounds by Easter but need to pare down calories a bit more.
I've eaten fairly frugally (for me!) I can't say I've particularly enjoyed it, although have just had some eggs on crispbreads with tomatoes. I know its late to eat, but.. I have also cut my sugar down from 2 to 1 large spoonful.
Having had lovely evening at the cinema we are just enjoying last cuppa before bed. DH is also enjoying custard creams. Day one nearly over Breakfast as previous post 2 small bananas 1 Apple Evening meal: baked potato, tuna and salad Coffee + milk and water through out the day.
A bad start for me on day 1. Just a tomato sandwich for lunch and no breakfast or snacks. But I was out for my tea and the waiter brought chips instead of the veg I’d ordered as a side. When it became apparent he wasn’t coming back with the veg I just ate all the chips, which were delicious. I don’t suppose the spicy meatballs with cheese starter and the half a carafe of wine were very frugal either. Things can only get better.
Stick with it Maggie not many of us (certainly not l) could have resisted.
It’s 10.00 am, not eaten since 7.00pm last night so that’s 15 hours which will do for me. I’m not sure what I can eat with this jagged tooth catching my tongue eveytime I try to speak or eat.
Yes; I've done 12 hours without eating and the scales do look a lot better today. However, I must stick with going to the gym; someone told me there that muscle actually makes us burn more calories. I'm sure those muscles are in there somewhere just waiting to pop out. Prepared todays meal last night; remains of the salmon; broccoli, peas and mashed potato.
I'm here. So far, so good. Got FiL coming tomorrow for his birthday tea. He was 83 yesterday and loves his food, especially puddings, biscuits and cake!
It won't be too much of a problem for me because I don't like pigging out in front of others! Just hope there not too many left overs!

I've had porridge for breakfast, a big bowl (with sugar) and wraps with scrambled eggs and tomatoes just now. Its not perfect, but its a start. I need to buy supplies, then I can stop eating eggs all the time!
I'm here - we were food shopping this morning and I was trying to put back things that DH had sneaked into the trolley. He's not taking it seriously but then he hasn't got as far to go as me.
I casn't manage on two meals a day so I had poached egg on small piece of gf bread, home-made vegetable soup and some yogurt. Fish Friday this evening - fish and vegetables not battered with chips and mushy peas.
Successful second day here so far. Overnight oats for breakfast and scrambled EGG with tin toms for lunch. Vegetable pasta bake later for dinner.
A few years ago I lost weight with online diet Nutracheck. Anyone else tried it? You can get a weeks free trial. It has a good support forum. It's very sensible, not at all faddy.
I always, always have cheese in a sandwich, without it I'm a bit lost as to what to have. I'm not a big meat eater. Tuna I can just about tolerate, if I'm in the mood. I like hummus, but I don't think its particularly low in fat or calories.
