Not getting any exercise and the family are cooking large meals each night. The S.O is getting a M&S curry for everyone tomorrow and we're eating out on Wednesday. If I eat the same as everyone else my weight goes through the roof. Need to get back home and start again....

Moderate March
(140 Posts)This is the follow-on thread to Frugal February. It doesn’t really matter what we call it though.
Just keeping us all on track. Welcome back those who made it through last month and either lost weight/inches or at least didn’t put any on ??
Continuing with the idea that this isn’t about drastic weight loss but slow and steady life-style change. And support for each other.
For newcomers who might like to jump on, this isn’t advocating any particular diet or eating regime. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ and everyone really knows what works best for them if they are being truly honest.
Thought if we tackle it a month at a time it would seem more manageable. So good luck Moderators.
PS: BMI 21.5, right in the middle of healthy weight.
Started properly on 11 March. By yesterday, Sunday 1 April, I had lost 6 1/2 lbs and 6 1/2 inches over bust, ribs, waist, hips and thighs. But one lb heavier this morning, Monday, thanks to 2 pieces of my birthday cake (very rich) and chocolate and a glass of bubbly. After this week I think I'll do the 5:2 diet rather than deprive myself all the time as I have been doing and feeling hungry. Quite pleased with myself but didn't shift my final 2 lbs. Still pot bellied!
It's difficult cutting back when the whole family are here; I'll get back on track next week when I go home....
Haven’t been there on for a while, but want to congratulate all those who’ve succeeded and commiserate with those who haven’t.
I’ve got to where I want to be (BMI 24.9) so thanks for the support and ideas. I won’t be starting an April thread but that’s always something others can do.
I’ll still pop into GN now and again.
Here’s wishing you all a very Happy Easter ? ? ?
It's been 61 days since I started and have stuck at the same weight for weeks - initially lost 8lbs but nothing else. I am very careful and don't eat between 6pm and 12 midday next day. The meals I eat are not excessive, having been a yo yo dieter all my life I know what to eat when dieting but now I am often hungry but keep going with the eating plan. How can I lose the last 3-4 lbs ?
Tegan2: Sounds delicious! Can't wait for Easter Day and my wine and chocolate!
Cold bug has gone but the S.O. bought in a M&S lasagne followed by chocolate pudding today; hope to have a healthier day tomorrow......
I hope you are feeling ok Tegan. It's been a long cold winter, and I think we all need some sun for our health and well being.
I didn't get weighed last Thursday as my tummy was still playing up (bread). I've been trying SW recipes like quiche with no pastry etc. It's OK, just like a frittata really.
The good thing is I can suddenly feel a tiny bit thinner. My jeans and even a coat are looser on the bottom. Fingers crossed I get to first stone off this weigh day.
Panic over from previous page's post. I was 1 lb lighter this morning, can I lose my final 3 lbs before Easter Sunday?? But I'm still pot-bellied
On board , I have lost 4lb so far this m9nth . I bought a crockpot and am making lots of soups and nourishing stews and am focussing on how health I will feel when I reach 14lb loss .
I don't usually touch alcohol; but I must admit to have been having a glug of whiskey in milk at nightime for the past couple of weeks
....
Tegan - I hope things pick up soon for you. Sounds like you need comfort food not moderate March.
I'm still in a mess. Having trouble locking my front door at the moment; one minute it locks then it sticks. Then the S.O. who's in Northumberland at the moment, phoned this morning to say the dog was ill. Urine infection [but, given that she's getting old and has other problems, I'm thinking it could be the start of kidney failure]. Our Easter family holiday looks as if we might be building snowmen instead of sandcastles. And my lousy cold seems to be getting worse. I think the weight has started to creep back on.
Help! After losing 3lbs last week I've put on half a pound and I'm stuck. Yesterday I walked miles: usual morning walk of about 2 miles, afternoon walk to far side of town and back, yesterday evening a walk to a meeting about 15 minutes each way. Two mile walk again this morning, walked to town and almost all the way back this afternoon. Can't cut my food intake any more, don't want to faint. Still cannot get into the skirt I want to wear at Easter
Wish I'd put more effort into frugal Feb . . . .
Actually, I suddenly realised the lentils may be innocent!
Last night for first time in 6 weeks I had 2 pieces of WW bread. I wondered if that may be the cause. I've been eating oats no problems. It's really upset my stomach, loo, griping pains, very bloated. Annoying as I'm getting weighed tonight, my tummy has gone huge again.
I can't eat lentils etc for that reason [porridge has the same effect]. I think the weather doesn't help, seacliff
.
I lost 2.5 pounds with SW last week, which I was delighted with. But generally I am feeling so unhealthy, and old, my joints all hurt and I now feel bloated with the lentils I had last night. I also have styles on one eye, which is often due to being run down.
I've been on this 6 weeks now, and hoped be feeling healthier with more energy. Truth is, I have a lot of weight to lose, so until I've lost at least 2 stone I probably won't feel much benefit. Just a bit dispirited.
I'm so relieved that, having lived on jam on toast for a week I don't seem to have put any weight on; haven't lost any either, though....
After 4 days of not losing any weight today down to 109.6. When I got down to 110k I bought myself a Misfit Shine 2 swimmers edition. It counts how many steps you take, distance walked, run and swimming. It also measures sleep into light sleep and deep sleep. You can set yourself a target so quite motivational. I won't use run but will use walk and swim. I have now lost total of 9.2k since mid Jan.
Occasionally I make meringue. About twice a year.
God question cavewoman I never eat egg white unless it’s in an omelette or as scrambled egg. Sad to say I throw it away.
I often use the other half slice of bread next day.
Sorry to hear of your tumble Tegan hope you’re not black and blue?
Tegan2: Poor you, hope you're not too black and blue today.
I cheated today, intended to walk to town and back but the bus stopped just as I was near the stop . . . . Same happened when I started to walk home from town . . . . My excuse is that the bus saved time (but not calories). Resolve Tegan2?? I'm in need of some myself! Although losing a few pounds last week has given me a boost. I had a dream last night about chocolate, a huge piece of chocolate, beautifully decorated. Only two weeks to go.
I reckon I've got away with it cavewoman thanks to the ice, ibuprofen and voltarol. What was scary is that I'm on my own at the moment and, if I'd, say, broken my leg no one would have known for ages. I'm always leaving stuff lying around the house and even say to myself 'I could trip over that' and yet I still carry on doing it. I'm just using up whatever food is in the fridge at the moment. So want to go to the gym but I've got my boiler service on Thursday and at the moment the engineers wouldn't even be able to get into the loft to check out the stuff in there that needs looking at. Also the front door isn't shutting properly and I've lost the gadget I use to file it down...
Hope you're not hurting too much this morningTegan
It's normally the next day that you feel it.
OldMeg Just wondering what you did with the half slice of toast and the eggwhite ??
Managing to maintain February's weight loss--but only by the skin of my teeth ...
