Progress is when you nip to the loo and forget you're wearing an old pair of jeans and not skinny jeggings with an elasticated waist.
Pulling them down without undoing the zip = result!
Shops and Cafes no longer here.
I have returned to my own healthy eating plan as I need to lose a stone. I am pear shaped with a small bust, reasonable waist and overlarge hips.
On reading the ever sensible Dr Scurr in the DM this morning I discovered a healthy waist size is 31 ins for women and 37 ins for men. I rather smugly measured myself expecting a pat on the back only to find I am 5 ins over the recommended size ?
Onward and upward or preferably downward.

Great stuff Merlotgran
- every little incident like that really gives you a boost doesn't it!
Weigh-in this morning and I have lost 0.2 of a pound
- I know it is no more than a hiccup (and is probably due to having my hair cut earlier in the week!), but at the end of half-term week with various little naughties I will settle for that few ounces
On my chart it is down!!! Good luck everyone as we plod on relentless!
Weighed myself this morning and I've only lost half a pound.
Slightly disappointed but it has made me more determined this week.
And "down" is "down", however little. So ?!
Buffy that's 0.3lb more than me! It is disappointing but it is down so let's go for it this week! Now the schools are back I stand more chance of getting into the pool when I do my gym/swim (funny how there's never a queue for the gym
!)
Good luck everyone!
Lost one and a Half pounds this week. I was shocked as had a sundae the other evening after a meal and been picking at sweets today lol.....must say though I eat low carb and portion control with SW and don't have Syns every day, save them for going out and a tipple.
However you have done it Shirley it has worked. Well done.
Was summoned to doctors as my BP was high. I was worried they were going to stuff me full of more tablets. I saw the practice pharmacist and showed her the results if my BP taken at home which were normal , to my great relief she recognised I did have white coat syndrome. I was advised to continue taking my BP at home and give them a copy of my typed up notes which they would scan into my records. What a result, so relieved.
Must weigh myself tomorrow to see if I am maintaining my weight.
Up three quarters of a pound. Not surprised as I went out to lunch two days this week. I shall be careful this coming week.
When you go out for lunch I think its very difficult to stay on track. We have a Harvester close to home, they have unlimited salad, grilled chicken etc., which is ideal for me. Got weighed yesterday, stayed the same, was a bit disappointed, however today is a new day, new resolve.
Up 1.2

Last week I 'lost' 0.2 which is silly as I could probably lose ounces by having my hair cut or cutting my toenails
I have had bread a couple of times this week and that seems to be my downfall - nothing drastic but enough to cause problems. Also only one gym/swim and GD birthday with nibbles.
Although I can account for it, it is still disappointing folks isn't it! Why is it so easy for us to put on but so difficult to take off? This week looks a bit dodgy with various commitments but I will do my best and hopefully have better news next week?
Don’t worry Fourormore it happens to us all. The important thing IMO is checking back here regularly. If we don’t I think the weight slips back on and before you know you have increased a size.
I don't hold out much hope later at my weigh in, eaten out three times this past seven days ....twice with a dessert.....not a huge one though if that helps ?....Saying that at home my portion control has much improved and I still eat low carb. I fill my plate with lots of fresh green veg.....(and other colours lol ). I have fish a lot which is lower in calories and chicken.
What's on your average plate?
Must say, apart from weight loss I don't get indigestion like I used to at times, that stopped a couple days after eating healthily, another bonus .....
Shirley - hope your weigh in will be in your favour. What is on my average plate? well lots of salad and veg, no potatoes, very little rice, do eat lots of fish and chicken though. Eating out is my problem, so restricted in what I can choose. Seemed to have hit a brick wall lately, weight remains stable, bit gutting really when you follow a strict diet code.
I still eat what I want but in much smaller quantities. I don’t eat biscuits anymore but do occasionally have half a Slimfast caramel biscuit which I keep in the freezer. It gives me a small choc hit. I eat more salad especially my speciality of salad leaves, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, a few crushed walnuts and a shaving of cheese with low cal mayo.
I have a small fruit salad and yog for a pudding in the evening.
Actually lost 1lb, most surprised lol....
Does anyone else feel lethargic?
I used to take a daily multi-vit tablet containing iron, zinc etc. as I know I have a tendency to low hb levels, making me feel tired all the time. My diet is good though so eventually I decided not to bother.
Over the last few weeks I know I have had a few 'things going on' in my life, but I have also been feeling really tired with no energy. I was going to gym/swim on Tues but a meeting beforehand ran over, so, running late, I didn't bother. Due to go twice more during the week but couldn't be bothered?
I have been active walk-wise and also watched my food intake but I am really surprised to find at this morning's weigh-in that I have lost the pound I put on last weekend?
Where is the logic folks? I am trying the daily multi-vit again too as it is so unlike me not to feel motivated
Good luck everyone! Every loss, however tiny, is a loss!!!
Just another thought - has anyone any news of dear Panache?
Hope she is ok?
Panache!
Hi there just seen Panache post on another thread.
I need to weigh myself on Fri/Sat to check where I am weightwise. Just had a few days away and eaten a bit more than usual.
Answering your question. Fourormore fatigue has been part of my life for a long time. Underactive thyroid, PMR, I have learned to pace myself. I nearly always sleep for about 30 mins after lunch but still have to go to bed early. I only have a few hours a day when I feel normal.
Thanks NanKate for your thoughts - I am reasonably happy my thyroid etc. are ok as my bloods were checked a few months ago when I had other issues.
To be honest I feel that my lethargy is temporary and will pass when the weather chills - it is so mild at the moment there doesn't seem to be any 'fresh air' about!
Glad to hear Panache is around and I hope all is going well for her.
Weigh-in a day late this morning but very pleased as I have now lost 7lbs in 3 weeks.
The secret of the Harcombe low carb plan is that, after the first weeks detox, you never mix fats and carbs at the same meal.
So if you have meat/fish/chicken it can only be eaten with veg or salad.
And if you eat carbs again the same, can only be eaten with veg or salad.
Apparently this rule, is a powerful tool in weight loss.
Seems to be working for me, even though I went to Bohemian Rhapsody this last week and Df brought popcorn and sweets, I tried to resist but one taste of sugar and that is it. I cannot stop until it is all gone!???
The next day, I was straight back on the wagon and had a quite strict veggie type day.
How are the rest of us getting on?
Well done Buffy. You have the key to losing weight, occasional slips don’t matter if you get back on track immediately.
I am weighing myself at weekend. I am on maintenance but think I have gone up a bit.
Well done buffybee, that's a good loss...I lost one and a half pounds this week, pleased with that, so far I have lost one stone and 4 lbs...it's my 60th next Wednesday so have booked that as holiday so I don't get charged (I go to slimming world)... So next weigh in is in a fortnight, that should be interesting as I have a few things planned...involving food and drink ??
Weighed myself today and down to my maintenance weight so I am pleased. Just need not to put on any more weight. It’s lovely getting into all my clothes.
That's good Nankate, yes its a lovely feeling when you open your wardrobe and know that you can wear whatever clothes you want without pushing, tugging and generally straining at the seams! My weigh in today, don't know why but I always dread going, am also finding my motivation is wobbling just lately. Could be Christmas is looming up.
