Okay everyone...
Tomorrow is the 1st of the month and so log in to record your interest if you are keen to have a monthly ‘Grand Weigh In’ to chart your 5:2 progress.

The idea is to have a separate forum for this - as a place to see whether weight has been maintained, gained or lost in comparison to the 1st day of the previous month.

Tomorrow (01/02/19) will be for all who’d like to ‘register’ their interest.

There is a separate forum up & running for mutual support and ideas on the diet already.
Good luck over the coming months everyone❗️

Well done you GrannyIris another determined lady who has gone the extra mile to achieve great results!

What’s NSV please? I’m a bit dim.

M0nica Fri 01-Mar-19 08:30:27

GrannyIris5, Well done, well done, well done!

February has been a complete disaster. I went down with the dreaded lurgy in the second week of Feb and have still not fully recovered. I have lost my sense of smell, have had a scouring cough and horrible cold. I still feel less than perfect. Calorie reduction did not seem a good idea.

However onwards and upwards. I start again on Monday. I have two fairly quiet weeks then we are away for a week, self catering, so controllable, although we will be in Belgium and the Belgians are a nation of trenchermen. Lots of cheese and carbohydrates and huge portions, hmm grin

Sensible decision MOnica not to diet when not well. Join the not so merry band of disappointed dieters determined to do better (I was trying for a brilliant alliteration there but couldn’t think of a word to replace better ha!)
?

Lumarei Fri 01-Mar-19 08:48:31

TwiceAsNice and Grannyiris - unbelievable results for you. Well done!.
Urmstongran I am sure tomorrow you will be a lb or two less. Just the wrong weigh in day. Not to lose motivation for any length of time is important and you lovely ladies definitely keep me on track.

Shysal two 2lb are not pathetic Grab 2 bags of sugar or flour or go on youtube and search “why 5lb of fat is a big deal”. or “1lb fat model”.
Sometimes when I weigh myslf in the morning, I grab a flowerpot or anything reasonably heavy and weigh myslf with it and enjoy the fact that this weight I carry in my arms used to be inside of me only a few weeks ago. ?

Lumarei Fri 01-Mar-19 08:50:49

Take care Monica - get better quickly and enjoy your holiday.

Urmstongran Fri 01-Mar-19 09:03:04

What a brilliant (weigh) way of thinking Lumarei thanks for that! I’m feeling inspired already. And hopefully your right (and kind) to say today was just the wrong weigh in day for me. Check me out on the ordinary 5:2 tomorrow to see. Fingers crossed. ?

Urmstongran Fri 01-Mar-19 09:03:51

You’re.
Not that it matters really..... ?

Grammaretto Fri 01-Mar-19 09:19:26

Thank you shysal I'll do that.
I always say I loathe dieting because it makes me think about eating too much however needs must and it's just till June grin

Grannyparkrun Fri 01-Mar-19 10:30:56

Morning all, I posted my weight loss haha on the chat page earlier, 1lb in 1 month ? so March resolve to try harder! Katyj you were awake early !
Twiceasnice; respect!
Grannyiris, what is ADF & NSV please?
No self flagellation anyone, March will be easier because of lighter longer days?

GrannyIris5 Fri 01-Mar-19 14:56:57

Thanks girls. Urmstongran NSV is a non scale victory ie belt in another hole, baggy knickers or trousers slipping down etc
Fellow Friday fasters keep going it’s the weekend soon x

GrannyIris5 Fri 01-Mar-19 15:02:11

MOnica, I’ve had the chest bug too, my taste buds are none existent along with my appetite, but it’s helped my loss.
Whatever you lose even it’s a pound hold that weight in your hand, butter/flour anything. Start putting corresponding amount in a box and when your resolve is slipping go and lift the box.

Sunlover Sun 03-Mar-19 22:17:33

I'm on holiday at the moment but weighed myself on 28th Feb. lost 4 lbs. pleased with that but pretty sure two weeks in Barbados is going to undo my hard work! We have decided no breakfast and to self cater at lunch time. I brought Ryvitas and low fat spready cheese with me. So far so good. In fact I left half my pizza last night as I was full. Will be interesting to see what the scales say at end of the month.

shysal Mon 04-Mar-19 04:50:38

Brilliant Sunlover! Good result, and I am sure you will do well this month too. Enjoy the rest of your holiday sunshine

shysal Sun 31-Mar-19 16:29:00

Hope to see all your results tomorrow, hope there are some success stories.

Katyj Sun 31-Mar-19 17:26:38

hmm

GrannyIris5 Mon 01-Apr-19 06:58:25

Morning all. 6.5lb lost in March. Confess to having a crunchie and a few sweets the DGC didn’t eat yesterday. Hope this time next month to be ‘overweight’ not ‘obese’.

Katyj Mon 01-Apr-19 07:08:10

Well done Granny that's great ! I've lost 4lb not very good at all, although I've not been sticking to plan on a weekend. I've had a rotten month health wise, I had a bad reaction to some tablets from the Dr, then had the lurgy , for over a week now. Feeling better today, and it's Monday, so will keep going and hope nothing else happens, fingers crossed. Good luck ladies.

Urmstongran Mon 01-Apr-19 07:20:09

Hello ladies! Well I will do the walk of shame as I’ve gained 2lbs. Oh dear. Totally lost the plot this last 10 days. Not even bothered to do one fast day and socialised hard with family and friends.

Anyway I’ve given myself a good talking to and I’m climbing back up on the diet wagon! We go to Spain tomorrow for a month and I’m going to eat more salads, do some walking and get back on fast days! In fact I’m making today a fast day as penance - it serves me right.

I do hope you’ve all done better than me. I will check in later today to see how you’ve all got on! x

Urmstongran Mon 01-Apr-19 07:23:13

P.s. meant to say yours was a stellar loss GrannyIris! Well done ??

My goodness you’ve had some serious motivation and discipline in March. Just goes to show what can be achieved doesn’t it? I so want to be slimmer for summer but it’s not going to happen unless I get my arse in gear!

GrannyIris5 Mon 01-Apr-19 08:08:32

Have a great time in Spain, I’m fasting today, it’ll be mineral water at the ‘Legion’ tonight for me. Has anyone seen my tape measure, if I measure with the metal one I dread to think of my hip size ?

GrannyIris5 Mon 01-Apr-19 08:13:17

Katyj, get some tins out of your cupboard and weigh 4lb, it’s a good result. Don’t be disheartened, it’s still a downward trend. Keep it up. ?

M0nica Mon 01-Apr-19 08:30:58

The lurgy went on longer than expected, but last Monday, fully recovered and rested after a week away, I started again and this morning I am - 3lbs - lighter (the first week effect).

I thought I had blown it yesterday because I had migraine and scoffed two heavily buttered and toasted cheesed crumpets for tea, but 3lbs it remains.

Katyj Mon 01-Apr-19 08:39:40

Urmstongran. Thank you for being honest, at least it shows how hard this is, you won't be the only one, and at least your resolve is good, you've still got it ! Have a lovely holiday, with some treats and wine.

Katyj Mon 01-Apr-19 08:45:29

Well done Monica, you sound like your back on track. This lurgy is the most awful thing, never had anything like it, had it over a week now, and had to phone in sick at work today , just haven't got the energy, although the cough is better today.Hope you remain fit and well now.

shysal Mon 01-Apr-19 10:10:59

I am ashamed to report that my weight has remained the same throughout the last month. I am still aiming to fast on 3 days a week, but giving in to the evening 'munchies' sad
Well done those who have lost weight!
