Good morning everyone! Nankate I hope you have recovered. Shirleyw are hope you are well too- I think you are very brave.
I hope they have found a new exercise class Whiff, your current one sounds so much fun and so beneficial.
I'm still doing my 10 minutes of Jo Wicks daily. It's very gentle but I certainly feel less creaky! As i may have said I'm now a vocational coach and amongst other things cover wellbeing. Until i got my laptop all i could really do was follow the course i would be teaching which includes wellbeing exercises. I allocated time to things i thought important daily, exercise, mindfulness, hobbies, reading and a task-a household job you keep putting off ! ( weekly). A few months in I am impressed. I havent missed one, even the exercise. In fact it's as routine as cleaning my teeth! We also cover CRT which is a form of problem solving. I was quite horrified at first as it's an area I have struggled with in the past on a course. For anyone who is not familiar with it it's the sort of problem where you have to get foxes and chickens across a river in 2 journeys without foxes eating chickens etc. I've never considered myself a logical person. My particular horror was The Towers of Hanoi. It got to the stage where previously i wouldnt even look at it?. With great trepidation I met it head on and am now on level 8 of 9 ! The approach to the exercises is more about thinking about thinking rather than the result you achieve. CRT has been proven to improve cognitive skills ,it certainly seems to work.
Of course wellbeing exercises are not a magic bullet,in fact when you most need to do them is probably when its hardest to do so. Last year working FT in a very pressurised job I was like a zombie. I'm still FT but hybrid and pressure pretty much disappeared. This does however give me insight into how it may feel for participants and I can empathise with their struggles.!
So I feel odd if I dont exercise daily, and I'm gradually doing the hidden chores that are so annoying but behind a closed door! Yesterday I tackled the airing cupboard! This week will be my wardrobes!
Finally I have managed to lose 1/2 lb. I was quite surprised as on Friday I had one of those " hungry" days where would probably chew on table legs!
Have a good week every one. Sounds like it's going to be another hot one!
