Happy New Year Whiff and ALL the Pears and Apples.

In May it will be 7 years since I started this Thread, so we must be doing something right. In that time my weight has gone Up and Down but like so many of us I am still here flying the flag for ‘Eating Less for life’ and not giving up. However it is the support of the Members here that keeps us All going.

So let’s start 2025 together to improve our eating habits and have a healthy Lifestyle.

Thanks NanKate. My New Year resolution is to shift the excess pounds and get a bit fitter. Good luck everyone.

That looks good whiff

Happy and healthy new year to you all.

Good morning on this snowy one. I put on 2lbs this past week, no surprise but now back on track.

Cheesecake looks good whiff.

Stay warm and no skiing in the snow.

Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas is officially over today and so time to start over.

All the 4lbs I lost prior to Christmas I put back on! Surprise surprise.

I don't think it was so much the food however as the lack of exercise for me.

Yesterday I had a long walk in the snow but I still have a little chocolate and biscuits to finish off.

Also I can't get the car out yet so have to rely on local shops and so re-starting my meal plans may take time.

I hope everyone has had a healthy start to 2025 and let's make this the year we lose and keep they weight off!!

My plan is…..not to shop for a few weeks and eat the food I have here.

NanKate Mon 06-Jan-25 16:15:51

My plan is to count my calories everyday and keep them under 1,500. Slow but sure weight loss for me.

Beechnut

My plan is…..not to shop for a few weeks and eat the food I have here.

Haha- me too because I can't get out! Not much above freezing here again and very icy underfoot. Last night I took a walk to the local shop just to get pizza!

I have now finished off the biscuits and there isn't much in my cupboard because I was away for Christmas and new Year.

I am so looking forward to getting out and doing a proper food shop soon!

Well gang lost 1lb this week . Then had an unexpected event on Monday woke with a headache at 3am still there by 4. I don't get headaches and had pain in my left side of my neck. Called my daughter at 4.30 and only word I could say was help.

Got to the hospital at 5 within hour had ECG , bloods and brain CT scan. Saw stroke nurse ruled that out. Lost my speak for a while . Mind you my daughter did say it was nice to have a quite journey 🤣

On bed in a&E corridor ward. Later had another ECG but found an amonoly . So cardiac enzyme blood test needed. Took most of the day had results heart muscle damage . So had had a heart attack . Saw cardiologist and said I would be on a ward as soon as possible..

Tuesday after spending the night and most of the day on the corridor. Did get onto acute cardiac ward.

MayBee70 Thu 09-Jan-25 06:36:36

Oh Whiff. I was thinking of you yesterday. Please keep us up to speed with how you are. xxx

Whiff Thu 09-Jan-25 06:51:50

Nurse came for blood.🦇.
On the afternoon went to loo while in there feel very hot and giddy wanted a lie down. Shouted my daughter now no idea what happened next my daughter told me . Because my bed was on a slope she and a nurse tried to sit me on a chair and I fought them anyway eventually got on a bed and must had blacked out. Remember hearing the cardiologist telling me to open my eyes managed a bit . My daughter said it was a mad run the the ward. Only 4 beds per room. Speech was gone so with my odd word and mime and my daughter speaking for me explained to the nurses what happened and about my HPX. Electrodes all over the place. Yesterday had echocardiogram and x ray . Saw cardiologist who told me I had had a lower chamber heart attack on Monday. Silent heart attack. Apparently women get them more than men . Men tend to have all the bells and whistles. But then again my dad only got breathless no pain with his 2.

Hopefully tomorrow going to another hospital for angigram and stent or stents fitted. Then home and in the care of cardiac team and action heart.

Only pain I am in is my usual pain. Changed heart tablets and having injections into my ample tummy.

Just thought it was due to UTI which I had got Monday as they make me weird. Ok weirder than usual 🤣🤣🤣..

So brilliant incentive to finally stick to losing weight and not put any back on.

Friends I feel well and look my normal self . Hopefully be home Sunday for weigh in if they do have me at the other hospital tomorrow. If not they will do eventually.

Take care all and please take notice of any odd symptoms and if not well get medical help. 💖

Dear Whiff only just seen your post. I am so pleased you have had quick medical care and appear to be in the mend. How frightening for you. I am sure you will feel relieved to be back home and in your own bed.

You are in my thoughts. 💐💐

keepingquiet Sat 11-Jan-25 20:22:03

Yes thinking about you Whiff and hoping you are home soon. It sounds like a pretty frightening experience.

I managed to lose 3lbs this week! That means I have almost regained my pre-Christmas weight. I have also lost a whole inch off my waist!

This week I am back on my meal plans and hoping once the snow has gone I can get out a bit more!

Take care everyone!

NanKate Sat 11-Jan-25 20:59:07

loopyloo Sun 12-Jan-25 06:36:40

Dear Whiff,
Hope you get the angio today and manage to get home.

Met my lovely DDL and had a wonderful tea at the Dalloway Lounge in London.
But have put on half a stone.
I weigh far too much so am joining you guys if I may.
How are some people so disciplined, and never put on an inch?

Aldom Sun 12-Jan-25 07:14:45
