I expect annsixty's DGD is working now as she must be 24 by now.

However, it is heartening to read this as there must be many pupils who are struggling after the Covid lockdowns, the increase in bullying in school etc.

I am still the same OP with a name change as I got locked out and am delighted to say that A is in the last stage of a PhD in Marine Biology.
She was recently granted a six month extension due to a serious illness last year.
She achieved a 1st in her degree course and has worked tirelessly for the last several years.
She is a very serious girl and is devoted to conservation particularly of the waters around Great Britain.

Brilliant result UsedtobeBlonde. Well done to your DGD.
Mainstream education is not the answer for everyone.

I hope she is recovering well from her illness.

Absolutely rosie51! A good news story like this one is always good to hear. So pleased to hear that your lovely girl has done so well Usedtobeblonde, I remember you as Ann!
My own oldest granddaughter was a very troubled teen indeed and became quite ill. She overcame lots of obstacles, now has graduated and works in a demanding job supporting vulnerable adults. I too am a very proud granny!

It is real proof that things can and do change and for anyone else going through similar I wish you all and your young ones well.

As you should be grannyqueenie, well done to her. It's lovely to hear when youngsters have overcome adversity and turned it right around!
