*SUPPORT* for all who are living with estrangement

Smileless2012 : I felt overwhelmed and tearful last night after the Big Clap. I was not going to do it after the poor response last week but carrying my large cooking pot and spoon out I went. This week we got at least 12 people, being one of the first out I spotted one of the Asian ladies (BLESS HER) she saw my large pot and she ran in her house and got her own saucepan so we made plenty of noise, I was laughing so much and almost crying. For some reason the dogs did not even bark they were the same last week and yet with street noise like that you usually cannot shut them up.

"Mr. Motivator " came on just as I finished the kitchen tidy and so thought I need some movement and joined in. One dog sat by the door watching me the other one was jumping up at my bottom and running around in circles she thought it was good playtime activity.

Smileless 2012 ; that's an idea to get Mr. S. one of the outfits, then he can get out on your terrace for a spot of exercise. Just be careful with the hip exercises.
Mr Motivator is good fun.

That sounds lovely 3nanny I'm glad more participated this week and your neighbour was inspired by your large cooking pot and spoon.

It was the hip exercises I was looking forward too the most.

Left some flowers and 2 Easter eggs outside the girls next door front door, then sent a text telling them to open the door and look down.

They were thrilled bless them and shouted their thanks over the 6' wall between us that separates our roof terraces.

The girls next door must have been thrilled Smileless; that was a lovely gesture. It makes you feel happy to appreciate others.

I am collecting several things for my brother and even if we can't get together I can leave them at his door.
I am also collecting the Easter eggs for the GC which they will get next week. I am looking forward to next Friday for the Easter.
I want to get some flowers in and cheer up the living room.

Just heard some happy laughter coming from outside as I have the window open. It was the neighbours daughter from 2 houses away. Her friend was outside with her car and they were giving each other a hug and were so close together. I know it is not my business but I do worry for some people when they do not listen to advice about social distancing, oh well that's up to them. It makes me wonder how they feel about things as it is her mother and step father that work at the hospital so really she should know better.

It is a worry isn't it 3nanny. It must be difficult getting children to understand the need to keep their distance but if we had children I wouldn't let them go outside unless I was with them to enforce the rule.

Smileless2012 : Sorry I did not explain myself too well in post3rd April 15.35. The neighbours daughter is their Adult Child, she is a young woman but still lives at home with them.
She drives and has a job so I fail to understand why she chooses to ignore the social distancing and was hugging her friend that does not live in the household with them. It beggars belief to me why people want to take the risk.
Also by living a couple of doors away she is bringing that kind of contact into our little community which could impact on our health as well. Selfish!

Oh I just assumed they were children. Selfish and stupid, putting themselves and their families at risk.

I think we can forgive the odd basic human need for comfort can we not? Hugs are essential for some.

Let's be logical.

Key workers coming into contact with sick people. Highest level of risk.

Key workers coming into contact with customers all day. High risk.

People forced to go out to purchase food. Medium risk.

People having food shopping delivered that has been handled by a few people before it gets to them. Low risk.

2 people hugging. Lowest risk.

Thought I'd pop in and say Hi and hope you're all ok, well & happy [as much as you can now]

Two weeks now since I last worked, all my classes closed and my 1-2-1s. They say all will be back to normal afterwards, but for most freelance & self employed it won't be, it won't be for me. No income now! Just pleased that my son came back to live with me just before all this, it must be hell for those totally on their own. Haven't seen my lovely daughter & granddaughters for more than two weeks now

I long to take a walk by the sea, but not allowed as it's a 20min drive away, so park & woods nearby we go.

I'm sure like me, we are all thinking of our estranged loved ones and wondering why!

You'd have been facing this at home on your own had your S not contacted you and you'd not reconciled. Is he working?

We can see the sea from our balcony and could walk to the beach in about 20 minutes but are staying much closer to home where there are fewer people about.

I'm hoping that people will be sensible and not flock here to the coast like they did the weekend just before the lock down.

It's a beautiful morning and Mr. S. and I are hoping it will be warm enough to sit out on our roof terrace, even if we need a thick jumper!! Supposed to be warmer tomorrow so we're planning our first BBQ of the year.

Just wish our lovely girls could come and join us but come cold, rain or shine when this is all over the first thing we'll be doing is having them over for a BBQ we know they love.

You're lucky you can see the sea from your home. I do have my house on the market [all stopped now] and was looking for somewhere closer to the sea, wish I'd have got there before all this! You're also lucky to have such lovely neighbours next door too. How is your son in Oz?

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I am feeling very emotional at the moment, feeling a tear in my eye at lots of things now Can't get online shopping for love nor money. I always buy some lovely daffodils when I shop, they look & smell beautiful, so cheer me up, here's some for you S and for all the lovely ladies on here

He's fine Yogagirl still going into school but the students were stopped 2 weeks ago so I've no idea what he does there all day.

I'm the samegoodness knows I'm an emotional person at the best of times but at the moment I'm even worse. Mr. S bless him just looks at my face and puts his arms around me.

I bought some flowers in Aldi for me and our girls yesterday to cheer us up, also bought them an Easter egg each.

I feel so much better when I am near water. Mr. R and I put in a pond and stream in our yard so listening to the little waterfall is soothing. And we all know we need to be soothed.

Yesterday I did a conference call with five cousins all over the states and it was such fun. I actually put makeup on and a bra!
We were asked to wear homemade masks by our president yet he said he won’t wear one. They now think the virus spreads from talking and breathing. Ugh! Waiting to hear if my daughters boyfriend has it.

Makeup and a bra Rhinestone do you mean to tell me that when you're corresponding with us here you're makeupless and braless.

That sounds lovely. We have 3 water features for our roof terrace and I love to hear the sound of the water. As you say it's soothing but the down side is how often I have to come inside and climb the stairs for the loo.

It must be even more worrying having such a useless and self opinionated president. Hope your D's boyfriend is OK. Keep us posted as stay safe.

Just got back from a slightly longer walk than normal with the dogs, so I could take a look at my favourite view across the bay.

3.5 years and I still love it here. I love the sound of the sea gulls and the sound of the sea. I love this beautiful house, the best we've ever had.

If not for our estrangement we'd never have come here; every cloud as they say.

I totally relate to the love of the sea and being close to it, as I grew up in house facing the sea and I think it really gets into your blood. We are shielding because DH is undergoing chemotherapy, but I pretend that we are on a cruise ship on a long voyage and that's why we can't go anywhere, although we have every comfort aboard (even broadband which is hard to get at sea! )

Smileless, I agree about clouds and silver linings etc or perhaps some things are just meant to be or are bumps in the road. You are clearly a surrogate mother to your 'girls' and they love you very dearly.

I'm rather well endowed up top hugshelp so braless isn't a good idea as they're rather heavy.
