A few I still need to work on a bit more here but I remember being this person and how unhappy I was.

No, I don't recognise anything about myself that's being posted here Starblaze and TBH the only person who appears to be sabotaging this thread is you.

Starblaze Sun 19-Jul-20 17:45:19

OK Smileless

HolyHannah Sun 19-Jul-20 17:48:26

I'd love to say what I think Summerlove but yeah... DARVO as well.

Chewbacca Sun 19-Jul-20 17:57:22

Such a pity that this thread is, once again, going off what had been, an interesting and engaging discussion and then declined into insults about people's morals. That was a personal comment and one that I hope not to see repeated Starblaze.

Starblaze Sun 19-Jul-20 18:06:21

Maybe I should just post everything I come across for AEC on the general support thread

I just thought it would be politer and more respectful to keep most articles and chat about abusive parents away from estranged parents due to the issues it causes we have already discussed.

I would not go to any thread asking for support or advice from only others in their situation, just as I would not go to a thread asking for advice about dogs as I don't have experience of dogs...

Obviously no matter how I try to explain, it's just not an option/good enough.

Also I'm tired of just asking people to respect me as a child of abuse who is working hard be a better person

Apologise for the vile things you have said to me then perhaps I can apologise for your hurt feelings at my comment.

Best I can do I am afraid

That's honestly how I feel and I hope you can appreciate why.

Chewbacca Sun 19-Jul-20 18:15:03

I owe you nothing Starblaze. I have always been civil and kept within guidelines. That's all that is required of all of us. I can easily do that. Now... shall we pick up the discussion where we left off?

HolyHannah Sun 19-Jul-20 18:17:26

The 'spirit' of what is allowed is very fluid...

You’re right.

It is a pity.

Some people just can’t help themselves

Very true

My son asked me why I was frowning at the Internet. I said I was trying and failing to explain my point of view.

Him "are they capable of understanding it?“

Me: "they aren't stupid"

Him: "Will admitting they understand your point of view make them have to admit they're crappy people somehow?" (toned down the language there)

Me:" yes probably"

Him: "ha ha you're a idiot for even talking to them then, wanna carry on my old but still great film education? “

Me:" it's The Truman Show next and it's not that old.

Holyhannah I would guess that is why this thread is deliberately being sabotaged instead of understanding what it is/isn't for.

It is to help us

It is not an accusation against anyone else

That all comes back to what you said about, if only our parents could have taken responsibility for 50% and just met us half way. We could have worked with that

With some members here it is always 100% our fault if there is any kind of disagreement

Cannot meet us half way

Consider the different responses to comments that are "spot on"-

Some are understanding, willing to consider them-

Some get it straight out of the gate and remain quiet-

Some agree-

Some only get that it's the opposite of what they believe-

(I'm sure there's infinite types ..)

But which type is likely to take "issue" with "spot on" comments?

HolyHannah Sun 19-Jul-20 19:16:15

The Truman Show is not old... It just can't be... LOL

The Trueman Show is an excellent film. It carefully depicts how Trueman set out to find the truth and choose his life. It teaches us to examine our lives and make discoveries about ourselves and be true to ourselves. Lose the fake whether its friends, family or bad choices. Live what is real and not what we are told it is.

A profound life lesson for everyone, don't you think? smile

Smileless2012 Sun 19-Jul-20 19:34:34

Are you being serious Starblaze? I think the first thread you ever posted on on GN was the support thread, which is for ALL who are living with estrangement, not just EP's and EGP's but for everyone. You've posted there recently and why shouldn't you. This is GN not a site for EAC.

Last weekend on the 10th of July, there was a post from Agedp and what she said was spot on. "bearing in mind that the last 49 posts seem in general to be aimed at one particular poster who is not even posting. I agree it is a horrible way to communicate but nevertheless seems to be repeated continually".

49 posts, all from EAC and I think 6 from one poster alone being deleted.

At least 'The Truman Show' was a piece of fiction; what happened last weekend and is happening now is fact.

It's Truman .. ? .. That will cost you a slice of your reality ..

rosecarmel Sun 19-Jul-20 19:40:30

Maybe replace it with a slice of Johnny Apple Maggot? ?

Smileless2012 Sun 19-Jul-20 19:49:42

'Johnny Apple Maggot' is that the apple that didn't fall far from the tree, or contaminated the entire barrel?grin.

blush You're right rosecarmel; slice duly replaced!

Starblaze Sun 19-Jul-20 20:06:04

Smileless are you by any chance holding me responsible for things that are not my responsibility while once again never being accountable for yourself yet again?

Lets not forget this thread would be lovely and supportive without you constantly harbouring. The support thead is fine with me on it.

Ive met you for my 50% many times, you cannot/will not ever meet me half way and even my trying to apologise to you when I have been defensive has been met with derision. Your problem not mine.

Its The Truman Show Chewbacca
