Sorry not been around. More and more jobs keep popping up in the bungalow and my health's been rubbish of late.

Sorry to read you've been poorly too smiles - sounds awful. Glad you picked up enough to paint the walls. We've been busy unblocking gutters lately. There's repairs to do to the porch and gutters as we worked out when they leaked like sieves in the last downpour. When we looked there's an inch gap at the back of the porch roof and the gutters are at the wrong angle to drain. Not sure why we paid for that structural survey pff. The list of issues we're finding is still growing faster than we can do them. The baking looks great.

Sorry the photos made you feel so sad spring20. Those tiny bits of news or photos we sometimes get though others can really stir things up. It's good to know they're ok, but heartbreaking.

Fab cakes Whiff. Hope you have a lovely lunch out. I'm so impressed that you're a trained chef! We know where to come for all our culinary advice now.

Lovely to hear from you Hugs. Sorry all these things didn't show on the survey . I was lucky my son recommended my surveyor as they used him. He did a full report no surprises. So I had a plan of action before my move what needed doing in which order.

No birthday lunch today my daughter has an ear infection and can't drive as she gets vertigo everytime she move her head. So going next week. My son in law will be popping them round later for a short visit as Liverpool playing this afternoon. But got my elder grandson for the day on Tuesday for the day as teachers on strike.

Being a trained chef is just a glorified cook. I found chef to be arrogant pompous know it all's . Hence I called myself a cook. Used to beable to do all the over the top things like barreling potatoes and turning mushrooms etc . Cooking at the table and setting fire to it with brandy and even doing silver service waitressing .
Skills which long deserted me with my health

But what has made me happy is being a wife ,mother and grandmother. Never ambitious career wise. Still a mother and grandmother. But to me I am still married and always will be . Never single hate being classed as such. If single is written by anything with my name on I cross it out and put widowed.

So much for the lovely sun yesterday. Heavy rain today.

Allsorts and Hugs my daughter is all better thank you. Going for my birthday meal tomorrow evening.

Well I decided to tackle one of the box of photos. I had already divided all the photos my parents and mother in law had between the children before I moved to the bungalow. Got rid of lot of pics that where scenery and marked packets for my daughter and ones to give to my son after I die. Not intending to die for 20 years. But it's one less thing for my daughter to do after I die.

It will remind my son what he threw away . Lot of photos of him and his dad. And when he gets them I hope he feels ashamed .

Only 1 large box to go but that will do for another day. Funny enough it didn't make me feel sad in fact I didn't feel anything. Just glad it's one less job for my daughter.

Craft group was good yesterday had 3 newbies join us. Good job they are like the rest of us and talk about anything and everything and broad minded.

Will be watching the coronation tomorrow.

We're having a coronation lunch with our daughter and her OH tomorrow. He loves to bake and is big on tradition.

Then we're having hubby's cousin over for the day on Sunday. She's in her nineties and a bit fragile now, so needs a bit of a feed and pamper.

Good for you getting those photos sorted whiff. It's not an easy job but I'm glad it didn't make you sad. Though I sometimes think we just get emotional-pain-fatigue and our subconscious blunts it. That might just be me.

Glad you enjoyed Craft group. I've just found out there's one in the town somewhere, just need to get on top of the jobs and find the place. Something to look forward to.

Is it your birthday today Whiff? It was mine yesterday and we're going out for a meal this evening.

We have photo's to sort too. I'm going to put all the ones of ES going back to when he was just born together, and he'll get them when I've gone. It will be up to him what he does with them all.

The ones of him and DS will probably be divided so DS will have some of him and his brother.

Television's on and to begin with I thought do we need all of this before it begins but I'm really enjoying hearing about the King's great sense of humour and approachability.

Just shows how much we don't know about what a personable man he really is, and the extent to which we are influenced by the media without always being aware of it.

Had a lovely time with my friend and it was an opportunity to mooch round the shops which isn't quite the same when Mr. S. and I do it.

My birthday lunch on Sunday got cancelled because my daughter got an ear infection on Friday and it gave her vertigo and she couldn't drive. But her husband can so they came over on Sunday with my presents. I had asked for compost but as usual got more things. I do worry when people spend money on me. We are going out for my birthday meal this evening .

I did a really stupid thing this morning. I took double dose of my Flecainide. Took first tablet at 6.45 and then second half hour later. I looked at my daily pill box and saw I had taken it but no idea why I took the other. 111 was great spoke to a nurse and then 30 mins later Dr just spoke to her again as I feel fine and my BP and pulse is within my normal range she won't phone again.. But I am a low dose of it and if I do feel weird will phone 111 again. Had extra porridge and just had my 5th cup of tea to flush the excess out. The Dr told me to up my drinks . Never done this before as I am always so careful about taking my tablets and taking them the same time every day.

Text my brother as he's on lot of heart tablets but said Flecainide wasn't one of the dodgy ones.

Going to put the TV on now. Looking forward to the coronation.

You must have been worried when you realised your mistake with your medication. Easily done and thank goodness no side effects.

Thoroughly enjoyed the coronation it was moving and splendid and am looking forward to the balcony appearance and fly past.

Smiles you don't even need to apologise to me. We are friends on this thread. That's what I love about . It's a group of friends who help eachother no matter what.

The coronation was lovely. Bet they will be glad to get those crowns off . Loved the fact it was traditional but with modern touches that reflexed what King Charles wants the monarchy to be. William kissing his dad's cheek was lovely and showed the love they had for eachother.

I watched the programme with Patrick off sewing bee and how much went into those uniforms and it's the same company that has been running it for decades and supplying the uniforms and how much work was done by hand and how long it takes to make everything. Also how heavy some of the uniforms are.

Loved the fact Princess Anne rode in the procession in the rain with all the forces.

Luckily I am feeling fine after my idiotic move this morning. I am so annoyed with myself as I am so careful to make sure I take my tablets the same time everyday in the right order.

Watched the Coronation and then the concert on Sunday, both so good. We had a concert on in our local park Sunday afternoon, which was very enjoyable, finished with the national anthem. Taken all the deco down this morning.

I've done the same Whiff when taking my vitamins. but nothing to worry about with them. Leave the pill box out till later, so you can tell you've already had them that morning.

Hope you all had a good weekend and enjoyed watching the coronation. We had our girls round on Sunday for a meal and to watch the concert which I thought was a great end for a weekend of celebrations.

Well our clear out is going well. We tackled the garage yesterday and everything to be disposed of is neatly piled in the middle of the floor. Mr. S. had a brilliant idea to offer some of the things like wood protector we had for our old decking, free to a good home. There's quite a list of things we're happy to give away and plenty of interest.

It was quite a challenge getting Mr. S to agree that some items covered with dust and cobwebs clearly weren't needed but we got there in the end.

Just the store room to do now and then sorting out the cards we've bought over the years for our GC and photo's but that can wait for now.

The repairs and painting in the downstairs bedrooms have been finished so there's no trace of the damage caused by the water coming in.

We're dry, after 6.5 years we're dry .

Got to admit that I managed to avoid the whole coronation thing (I'm not anti anything - they just don't interest me). I have never watched births, marriages, jubilees, deaths - anything.

But, I'm glad that those who are into it all enjoyed it.

I, for some crazy reason, decided that I needed the place decorated at the weekend - so, I'm having to get on with the preparations.

Not the best time - but it is making me get up and get on with it.

Few jobs in the garden and a bit of shopping today. Nothing too exciting but pleasant enough.

Maybe there's a decorating bug going around DL as I've decided to decorate the master bedroom.

I was inspired by some beautiful Geisha wall paper which would fit beautifully with our oriental themed room. Poor
Mr. S., it wasn't the thought of hanging wallpaper that depressed him (I'll do all the painting), it was the cost of the paper I fell in love with which was £168 a roll and we need 5.

No need to panic, I found a beautiful substitute on line at a mere £12.50 a roll which TBH is going to look better as it's more understated so it's all round and he'll be ordering it today.

Can't wait to get started and luckily there's a choice of 3 other bedrooms to sleep in while it's being done as the four poster will need to be dismantled. His did waver a little when that dawned on him.

Well that was a huge price reduction smiles. It's lovely to find wallpaper you really like.

You could put all your free items outside your house Smiles with a note to say 'Free, help yourselves' and they'll be gone in a few hours! Goodluck with the wallpapering, I bought some really beautiful paper to put up on the fire breast, it was ready pasted, but yesterday the one over the fire [which had been on a bit in the winter] fell down .

I hope it wasn't damaged Yogin and you'll be able to rehang it. Everything's gone, a couple of items to be collected today and then we're done.

Not sure what's driving me atm but I'm certainly on a role. Tackled kitchen cupboards yesterday so some things for the RSPCA and a few items thrown out. Result; freshly cleaned and very tidy kitchen cupboards.

The wall paper's on its way hugshelp and I'm rather excited and impatient to get started. As soon as it arrives we'll be buying paint to tone in for the walls not being papered. I am good to Mr. S. and don't expect him to paper the entire room, and I've saved 100's of pounds too!!!

I did that with some things before we moved yogin. Went down well. Oh, what a pain with the wallpaper. I hate having to redo jobs you've already spent time on.

I spend yesterday cleaning out an old water feature in the garden. It was really manky - smelled like drains and the pump didn't work. We've dismantled it and cleaned it out and planned out how to reuse it. There's another one to do today. So many lovely things were here that got neglected and left to ruin but we're almost past the essential repairs stage - just some large shed roofs to fix and some pointing - and onto the do it up and make it nice stage.

We got a new pump for our water feature from a garden centre that sells garden ponds hugshelp. I can't remember how much it was but it wasn't very expensive and well worth it to get the water feature working again.
