Our current thread is about to reach 1000 posts so for all the regulars keep on posting and for anyone who hasn't joined us yet, a warm welcome awaits.

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

As you'll have seen Norah I've apologised for putting you name instead of agnurse's.

None of us are saying that those who've estranged us care, in fact we say the exact opposite but recent events show that those who come on GN to attack those of us who have been estranged, care very much. Why else would they feel the need to goad and attempt to bully the EP's here?

Perhaps they're not as happy and content with their decision as they claim to be or maybe they don't like to think of those they've estranged getting on with their lives, as we're doing.

theworriedwell Thu 17-Oct-24 20:51:58

Grunty

You haven't been hacked Babs; someone is so desperate to cause disruption and chaos amongst you that they've created a new account with a user name almost identical to yours. Your user name is Babs03. The disruptor was BabsO3. Subtle difference in the 0 and the O. They're getting desperate! grin

Maybe a good idea to avoid a username with a 0 or an O as it is easy to miss the difference.

Not much use if you already have a 0 or O unless you want to change but might be worth thinking about if you are going to change.

Smileless2012 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:15:46

Yes very easy to miss says she who fell for it blush. Thank goodness for Grunty.

Thank you. Cross posted.

Yes, I thought you told me, several months ago, when I questioned, that you're happy and getting along with life well. Done and dusted!

I've no insight into what those who have rightly estranged believe, but hopefully they're all getting on nicely as well.

Smileless2012 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:32:56

Yes hopefully they are Norah, but from what we're seeing at the moment it looks as if that isn't the case for everyone.

Babs03 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:51:15

@Kelly thanks for being on the ball with deletions and banning imposters.
🌹

Babs03 Thu 17-Oct-24 21:53:42

@grunty thanks for timely explanations, and thanks Smiles for asking for comments made by my namesake to be deleted.
What a day for disruptions.
🙁

Btw Sparkly gran my husband hasn’t passed away, my DH is very much alive, when I read him your post he laughed and says that he demands a second opinion 😂
No probs, and hope your gardening is coming along 🌹

Smileless2012 Thu 17-Oct-24 22:01:04

he demands a second opinion fabulous Babs. I think we all needed a laugh so thank Mr. B. for providing one grin.

Babs03 Thu 17-Oct-24 22:05:44

Got home not long ago.
Our GS will have second op at GOSH first week in December. A much less invasive procedure and it won’t take so many hours this time, hopefully he will be home within the day.
Hung about in London, was warm and the city looked gorgeous illuminated as it got dark. Had dinner in Wagamama and then got train home.
Hope everyone had a good day and here’s to proving that a bunch of imposters intent upon sabotage can’t get the better of us. Don’t they realise that we have suffered a baptism of fire at the hands of our estranged ACs so they’re below the belt accusations won’t even touch the edges.
😉

I honestly think many people would miss it. I use a site where you have to do one of those tests to prove you aren't a bot. It is usually a mixture of letters and numbers in funny fonts and I hate it when I see I have a 0 or an O as even when I'm aware it could be either I don't always get it right. I'm sort of glad it isn't just me although I'm not wishing it on anyone.

Yoginimeisje Fri 18-Oct-24 10:33:27

Deary me! Haven't been on for couple of days, now 3 pages of deleted post not to read hmm. What's happened? Hope it wasn't my post about the Jab shock

Sounds lovely Babs, hope you enjoyed your pub lunch.

Smiles Lovely to take up golf, as long as you don't get a golf buggy, it's good exercise in fresh air.

Whiff your crafting is good, as always, made me laugh what your DH said about the golf grin

Babs best of luck to your DC xx

Smiles enjoy the visit from your friend and enjoy showing her around your new home, hope you take her for a nice walk round to see all the nature.

Time to make a coffee...

Yoginimeisje Fri 18-Oct-24 11:28:49

Grunty Very well spotted. I have the same with my car number plate, took me years to work it out; o + 0

Yoginimeisje Fri 18-Oct-24 11:32:40

Babs fantastic picture! All the best to your little GS on his next op, poor little mite. I went to Wagamama last week with some friends, never been before, but loved the food & had a lovely Gin cocktail smile

Babs03 Fri 18-Oct-24 11:47:38

@yogi thanks. The upside is our GS is oblivious to what is going on, and will have no memory of it 🥹
On the subject of online security on this thread, we must remain vigilant to imposters adopting our usernames with a subtle difference rather than a very obvious one. I checked in yesterday and couldn’t believe that 3 of my comments had been deleted, until I realised that it couldn’t. have been me, but I still didn’t clock the subtle difference and thought my account had been hacked meaning my email must have been hacked too, I contacted GN but in the meantime saw the post be grunty so at least I didn’t change my email settings.
Poor whiff was obviously concerned that 3 of my comments had been deleted.
Is a deluge of imposters but am thinking just a couple of old veterans of this kind of sabotage could be responsible, certainly one poster who was out of action for a while due to GN probs putting that person on the naughty step, has surfaced on other threads.
Will see 🙁🙏🏾

Smileless2012 Fri 18-Oct-24 15:57:20

Afternoon everyone.

Thanks for that theworriedwell just like you, I'm glad it isn't just me. We do it seems need to be extra vigilant so do please check carefully when responding to any pm's, just in case you're unknowingly responding to an imposter.

I'm thinking in particular about my own user name ending in 2012; make sure the 0 is a 0 and not a capital o. Honestly, what a carry on. It's a shame that those or the one whose responsible doesn't make better use of the internet, and find some help to assist them with whatever it is they're going through.

If in doubt, find one of my posts and select Private message from there, then you can pm me directly to see if I have sent you one. Apologies for sounding a little paranoid, but as some of the offensive posters had user names that were a play on mine, I may be the next one to be targeted if they haven't yet tired of their silly games.

Nothing to do with the post about your jab Yogin smile.

It's great that your GS will have no memory of his treatment and even though this upcoming procedure is less invasive, it will still be a stressful time for you and your family flowers.

Lovely afternoon here but this morning we were shrouded in mist, like a scene from a Gothic novel.

Whiff Fri 18-Oct-24 17:51:34

Very tired been to the Brain Charity to do my interview. Hopefully I don't sound to black country.

I am waiting for Whiffy or Stinky or some such nonsense.

Will write more tomorrow. 😊

Babs03 Fri 18-Oct-24 18:04:37

Thanks Smiles, we also had fog in the morning but lovely weather this aft. Haven’t had to put the heating on these past few days which is a plus but not sure how long it will last.
@whiff am sure you will sound just fine. I have a strong Lancashire accent but don’t care what I sound like, people down here say I sound like someone off Corrie but I don’t mind, after all everyone near me says ‘Barth’ instead of ‘Bath’.
Which is just wrong 😂
Sounds like you need a rest.
Take care 🌹

Hilltop Fri 18-Oct-24 20:39:36

As a regular reader of this thread I would just like to say that I'm so sorry that you have had all this trouble with imposters. So ignorant of them. But l think you have done so well in the way you have beaten them off. I hope they don't try again, but at least we have all learnt about o and 0
Whiff, l would love to hear a proper black country accent or a true Brummie. I don't hear it round here but my relatives had lovely ones when I was a child.

Allsorts Sat 19-Oct-24 07:53:40

Ive been away so haven't read the unpleasant posts I understand have popped up. Do hope it hasn't put off anyone
new to estrangement as they need a safe haven, people that want to rub salt in the wound's of those going through a bad time must be very lonely and bitter people, best reported and then ignored. Those people need help themselves.
Its a very bad place to be when you first experience it and knowing others do eventually make a good life is important.

Babs03 Sat 19-Oct-24 08:47:52

Good morning all,
Nice to hear from you Hilltop.
You are right Allsorts those attempting to sabotage threads where EPs have found what they consider a safe space to share their painful stories and find comfort in those who have been through the same, is the work of someone who needs help themselves.
Anyway onward and upward.
Lots of rainy dismal weather here but can’t complain after the couple of lovely days we had, and still warm enough to leave the heating off. If it clears up later will manage a short walk, probs to the nearest cafe for a coffee and cake 🍰
Take care xx
