Of course you’re not. Just do it!

Go and buy that coat!!! Of course you're not 'too old'.
It sounds absolutely gorgeous and you'll regret it forever if you don't get it. I'd have no hesitation about wearing it and I'm 14 years older than you.
Congrats on that huge weight loss, too. ?

We went to a wedding yesterday and I noticed a few ladies in refrigerators and they did not lookout of place.
I would buy one and proudly wear it.

FlexibleFriend Sun 25-Nov-18 16:03:16

You're never too old for anything you want badly in my book, go treat yourself x.

Gonegirl Sun 25-Nov-18 16:18:05

Ladies in refrigerators?

MissAdventure Sun 25-Nov-18 16:28:21

I expect they were wearing fun fur coats to stay warm in there..

Karanlouise Sun 25-Nov-18 16:33:19

Buy the coat and enjoy wearing it, you are not too old at all. smile

I bought a huge faux fur coat about 2 years ago and I wear it when it is cold. I am 75. At 54 you are a mere child.

Never ever even think about your age when buying or doing anything. There is nothing more dismal than 'age appropriate'

Get yourself along to Debenhams personal shopper and celebrate the new you.

I am 70 and a 18 and I would buy the coat if I really liked it!
Buy it and post a photo to show us grin

Luckygirl Sun 25-Nov-18 17:20:57

I used to have a faux fur jacket in very bright pink - the poor DDs used to cringe with embarrassment when I came out with them in it.

54? - a mere stripling. Just go for it.

54!! You're a youngster. And whatever your age if you want that coat so much, get it and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. If it brings back happy memories go for it. To be honest, these days you can wear what you like. Enjoy yourself

Lindy123 Sun 25-Nov-18 17:35:08

I got two guinea pigs the other day because I’d always wanted one and I’m 54. So get the coat!!!

J52 Sun 25-Nov-18 18:42:17

Go for it! I have a faux silver fox coat, worn in the evening and an ancient curly sheep coat, glad it’s comeback into fashion. No cold, wet or wind gets through it. Now I know how sheep can stand out in the cold!

Melanieeastanglia Sun 25-Nov-18 21:37:59

Go for it!

Bathsheba Sun 25-Nov-18 22:17:03

You're only 54, you've lost a shed load of weight (well done!!!), and you're now a trim size 16. You definitely need to start buying all the things you've been dreaming of - including this coat, which sounds fabulous!
Go on, treat yourself. You like it, your partner likes it, so what's stopping you? smile

Bellanonna Sun 25-Nov-18 22:20:12

What everyone else says. I think you are probably young enough to be bothered by what others think about your decisions. I was 24 when you were born and nowadays I do exactly as I please, so I think you are hesitating because of your young(er) age. If the coat makes you happy, just go out and buy it and enjoy every minute that you wear it. Come back and tell us about it.

Grannyknot Sun 25-Nov-18 22:28:40

I love my teddy bear coat from Tesco (Florence & Fred, didn't realise it was a teddy bear coat until my daughter told me), I saw it, liked it, bought it. It's cosy and warm. I'm 69! smile

So yes definitely go for it, especially if you've always wanted one.

BlueSky Sun 16-Dec-18 10:45:29

Too old at 54? You are a youngster! Hope Santa will bring you that coat unless you have bought it already! tchwink
