NOOOOOOOOOO - any talk about Christmas before Guy Fawkes should be totally banned imho. I love Christmas, but hate the early campaign as in the UK- the constant advertising and, worst of all, the synthesized American style music in Shopping Centres.

Very please that any advertising aimed at children is totally banned here.

STOP!

Annobel Thu 19-Jul-12 19:12:29

If I thought anyone would pay any attention, I'd suggest a pact not to mention 'it' until the middle of November. grin

jeni Thu 19-Jul-12 19:20:16

Erm....I've started blush. Just a few stocking fillers. They were bargains. I have a sort of phobia/ocd reaction to C. I'm terrified I'm not ready or don't have enough money so I start very early. I try to be more or less ready apart from fresh food by the end of Nov/first week of Dec. I save with the supermarket for the fresh stuff so I know I'll have the money. Also I can't stand being in crowded shops. I hate to be pulled into the national hysterical spend, spend, spend mentality that affects the country as C becomes closer.

glammanana Fri 20-Jul-12 13:55:23

I get organised every year and buy for C gifts when I see bargains throught out the year, you can gaurentee I have forgotten where I have put them come December confused I'm still looking for posh decorations I bought in sale at C shop one year in Albert Dock (circa 1985) never to be seen again after I got home ?hmm

mrshat Fri 20-Jul-12 16:50:43

Had a charity catalogue in the post today with C. Cards for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C not allowed to be mentioned in this house until DD's birthdays are over - end of October (DD2) and early November (DD1)! However, I usually try and write my cards during half term .....................................grin

glassortwo Fri 20-Jul-12 17:20:44

Well I suppose if we are going to have a wet school holidays the DGC can cut all the things out of store catalogues for sticking on their wish list grin grin grin
