Tonight we had Chicken Kiev with Lyonnaise potatoes. I have to admit the CK was not made by me but a local butcher whose ready meals are really, really good but I did make the Lyonnaise potatoes myself and I know I shouldn`t blow my own trumpet but it was a good meal

Shop bought pizza tonight.

GLAM , I have heard about Aldi"s steak , reputed to be really excellent

Mind I am a huge fan of them so they can"t do anything wrong in my eyes.

We enjoyed DD"s curry and we didn't go to bed till 1am -- Naughty or what !!

nan , I am sure they will, you will have earned yourself some Brownie points !wink

I think I will be "putoring" most the day as it is really awful ,weatherwise here

Nonu my weekend was even more chaotic than I had expected as the little one had a temperature and was sick in the night and after breakfast. Spent a lot of time clearing up and we smell of Dettol now.

We were going out to lunch today but decided against it as little one too under the weather. I had nothing in as we are going away on Tuesday for a few days. So I had to hot foot it down to Waitrose to get in lunch for 5.

They have all gone home now and after a mass clear up we are having a much needed cuppa.

Next weekend we are in total charge of the two boys whilst their parents have a weekend break. Do hope the little one has recovered and the big one's ear infection has gone.

Sorry to go on about it all but GN is great therapy for harassed grandparents.

It will be a very simple supper tonight too knackered to do much. hmm

Nonu Sun 23-Nov-14 15:59:30

Oh dear that sounds hairy NAN, hope your little one"s make a speedy recovery, it is so worrying when they are poorly, quite breaks the heart !

Enjoy your mini-break Tuesday and come back refreshed and re-vitalised.

You are not GOING-ON at all.

Duck breasts with plumb sauce (courtesy of M&S`s "£10 dine in for 2 - or whatever its called) with roast spuds and probably peas. Haven`t tasted duck for yonks so looking forward to tonight.

glammanana Sun 30-Nov-14 12:59:38

sparkygran we are having the same I was in Liverpool yesterday and on my way to our favourite butchers when I thought I'll see if "Dine In" is on offer and picked up the Duck Breasts with new pots and apple pie, will spread it out a wee bit with some roasties.

whitewave Sun 30-Nov-14 18:01:31

Moussaka and pears and toffee sauce

Greyduster Sun 30-Nov-14 18:27:56

Home made steak and kidney pud, carrots and spring greens, followed by two squares of chocolate and an apple.

sparkygran Sun 30-Nov-14 18:35:16

It`s a small world glammanana but did your duck breasts spatter everywhere over the cooker mine did - however I will say they tasted delicious - I made some roasties and our dessert was M&S trifle first time I`d tried it and it was good - possibly more than good.

Just made a large quiche and a bowl of potato salad. DS is driving down tonight to go to a football match with DH, and it's usually a case of 'what can I eat in the car because we have to go now!' I put some in a picnic box for him.

merlotgran Tue 02-Dec-14 11:18:13

Tonight we'll be having what the family like to call, Mum's Modge Up.

Leftovers turned into a kind of savoury bake with cheese on top. Delicious!!

NanKate Tue 02-Dec-14 11:18:18

It will be a very light supper for me as I am going to our WI Christmas Tea today and we usually do ourselves proud. cupcake smile

sparkygran Tue 02-Dec-14 17:55:01

Merlotgran that`s the sort of cooking I love and think I`m pretty good at concocting something along the same lines.
Tonight it was baked potatoes with for himself chopped ham and tomato salsa and me almost the same except instead of the tomato salsa delicious cool sour cream (from M&S`s Mexican selection) it was yummy

We had lamb steaks with thyme, anchovies and martini rosata! Delicious!

Lapwing Tue 16-Dec-14 13:12:12

Glad you enjoyed it Sparky. I have the Korma one in my cupboard for when I get the urge for a curry.

NanKate Tue 16-Dec-14 15:34:47

I love the Spice Tailor curries too thanks to Kitty's recommendation.

I am having to cook something discreet and non smelling tonight as DH is on the horrid medicine before his colonoscopy (sorry not a very nice subject on this thread) tomorrow and I thought it would be unkind to cook myself something that smells good.

So I have got two of those lovely stuffed mushrooms from the Co-Op filled with Leek and Wenselydale - yummy.

NanKate Tue 16-Dec-14 15:35:38

Wensleydale !

loopylou Tue 16-Dec-14 16:40:19

Can't be bothered to cook tonight so hopefully fish and chips from windy local chippies. Going than 'I hate cooking' phase........... Wish could just take a replacement pill instead of thinking about planning meals, food just doesn't interest me I'm afraid!

sparkygran Wed 17-Dec-14 18:44:51
